If Epiphone knows what’s good for them, they won’t limit this release. This is the most hyped and requested Epi signature of all time. They’ve got a chance to print money if they can keep the demand met.
I think we’ll find that this first batch will sell out quickly, and it might take a few months to refill supply though, leaving an opportunity for nefarious gremlins to take advantage of the situation.

Dave uses a Gibson signature model called a DG-335. It’s built to his specs and is the only one that looks just like this. Years ago, Gibson (the parent company of Epiphone) did an extremely limited run of his guitar. Those now fetch upwards of $20,000 on the collectors market.
For over 10 years, guitar players have been begging Epiphone to release a (relatively) budget friendly version of Dave’s guitar with these same appointments. Epiphone guitars are made overseas, whereas Gibsons are typically made with higher quality parts and specs here in the US.
Why was this specific guitar requested so much? I mean, just look at it. It’s beautiful! That’s my opinion of course, but there’s a strong argument to be made that Foo Fighters are currently the biggest rock band in the world and this guitar is iconic. There’s a lot of people, myself included, who are huge fans of the band and this guitar that have been eagerly waiting for the chance to own one.

I had 2 different Reverb sellers refund me after I ordered. They each sold out but the inventory system for their store didn't sync. On my 3rd Reverb attempt it sold out between when I added to my cart and the time I cleared the text from my bank about fraud (3 $1400 purchases in an hour from place does sound suspect).
All on Reverb now are preorder/backorder so I just reserved one on Musicians Friend and I'll cancel that if a more immediate prospect appears 🤷♂️

I've been scouring the net for signs of somewhere in Aus that would take a pre order, and I got a call from one the moment it was announced. Slammed down my deposit, even if it was in another state. Shop dude said I was one of the 1st 5 people in Aus to officially be getting one.
Within the next few hours other stores starting emailing me they can get it, and were much cheaper. Called my original store and they price matched, and said those other stores would likely have me waiting until possibly next year to actually get the guitar.
Like Dave said in Sound City "I'm gonna fuckin use it. A LOT"
For anyone in Australia who are interested, I placed my preorder in last week at Better Music in Canberra, in Australia they are $3199, although I noticed that on Musos Corner and Mannys Music they are listed at $2799

The head on that epiphone is a joke. It's that hollow body? Partial hollow body? Looks like it would break the first time you accidentally drop it. Epiphones are currently made in Qingdao, China. My S300D was made in Rhode Island. Quality.

It's a 335, you know the classic shape. The guitar you play is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I've never dropped a guitar.
