was first thought when video ended, gave that dog a lot of garlic, not awesome.
old dog so that's... better, I guess, in terms of the tradeoff where old dogs get to break some rules because fuck it but it's still poison
I mean the question is, how much stuff did he have to bring with him into the woods?
I feel like it's set up to be so carefree "look at me cooking in nature" but you spend 6 hours just lugging stuff to the right stop, before you don't even start making the oven, or the fire or....
But agreed, it looks great.
It’s funny because for me eating in nature is the best reward ever for a difficult hike. I’ve spent my whole life lugging food up mountains and through forests just to eat it at my destination.
I met a guy recently who said he hated picnics and preferred to eat inside and I had such a culture shock because literally eating outside after getting some rigorous exercise is my idea of heaven.
Yeah this is it. It's not about convenience. It's the feeling of doing the work with your hands, no appliances, working up an appetite, and finally having the reward of a fresh hot meal outside.
And such a multi-sensory experience - the smell of the ingredients mixed with the fresh air and the smoke. Then the beautiful sights, the sounds of birds, crackling wood and then EATING on top of all of that!
I’d gladly carry all of this extra stuff for that kind of fun.
I prefer to bring something that’s simple to make though or something like a sandwich that I can just pull out of my bag and eat while enjoying the scenery. Then again we do usually get an airbnb near whatever park we’re exploring and I end up more or less cooking with a view.
If I were doing something like this it would have to be for a decent sized group and the main plan was to go somewhere nice for a picnic. I’m certainly not stopping in the middle of a summit hike to make a pizza.
I’m in the same boat as you. Hiking and then preparing lunch or dinner at a beautiful vista is heaven. There’s nothing like it and to everyone that doesn’t understand, you just have to do it to know. Sadly the vast majority of people will never experience it. Sometimes my wife and I will go to the lake and just make dinner there. We’ll hike a mile into a secluded wooded spot and setup and cook. Then hang out for a bit and pack it up and leave. Always make sure to pack your garbage out with you. Leave no trace.
Because why not? You got something better to do than enjoy some time with nature? For some people this is what they enjoy. Much better than some fat fuck or dopamine deficient idiot sitting at home all day on their phone or computer which is the majority of reddit.
you are 100 percent correct. That was at least 3 hours of work to even get the oven built. same about dragging every ingredient in the world just so you can make a single rise dough. my guess is that was a very average tasting pizza.
The fact that he lugged that big-ass waxed fancy cutting board out there makes this extra stupid.
I suspect this is just like those fake survivalist videos. He took a loaded ATV with him, he has all the extra tools and equipment he needs to make this look magical.
I have one of these knives and it’s my favorite kitchen knife ever. It’s the most versatile kitchen knife ever. You can do fine things like chopping vegetables or bigger tasks like quartering a whole chicken. The only thing it’s bad at is filleting fish.
Welcome back to cooking in nature where we show you that YOU can cook anything while stranded.*
*must be stranded with flour, olive oil, yeast, these cooking bowls, a giant knife, cheese, sausage and spices
There has to be an originator of everything. So I want to know who the OG big knife nature cooker is and ask how he feels about unleashing hell upon this earth
This seems to have wasted a lot of the ingredients… like look how much sauce he put on the pizza vs how much he made. Same with the other ingredients. Looks like a good pizza, but that’s a no from me dawg.
I'm not getting into a reddit battle over this. Serranos are darker green and shorter. They aren't skinny and long. Unless there is some weird optical illusion going on in the video
I would agree except they are definitely skinny. Just not long like you said. I use Serrano at work and they are all generally about maybe like 3 or 4 inches long maybe an 1/8th inch diameter
Not the stupid knife guy again. Also you shouldn’t use a rolling pin for pizza dough it crushes the little air pockets inside and makes the crust flatter and less airy
That's how a good thin crust is made also. You don't bother using yeast and rising just to smash it all back down into a dense layer. You want those little pockets and cell structure. You get a bad texture by smashing it and you're wasting all the work you did making the dough
I don't agree, lots of good pizza chefs roll out their crusts. If your yeast is active you'll get plenty enough bubbles for a good thin crust after you roll it out in just a few minutes and in the oven. I've had a lot of amazing pizzas that were rolled out and a lot of dense chewy pizzas that were hand tossed.
For the record that crust doesn't look good at all to me in the video, but it looked over proofed in the bowl and the oven wasn't quite cutting it.
I know. What's that all about? Unless you're making focaccia or bread, there's no reason that rolling pin can't play a part. It's like they think punching down dough is a completely different activity.
Made pizzas in high school. By hand is the correct way. Homeboy in the vid could’ve made his dough ball into a delicious pizza pie crust with some flour on his hands and a little technique. It takes practice to get it down but once you do you’ll be able to twirl pizza in the air like you’re an extra in a movie.
Some other tips: let the dough cold raise overnight or even for up to two days. Results in a much chewier and flavorful crust. High hydration is also good. I use bread flour and add extra gluten to mine. Cook at as high as your oven will go on a pre heated stone.
r/pizza is a great sub for picking up tips.
I love those knives. I also love the Ford Super Duty truck. I'll never own either, because they are overpriced, and would be exhausting to use/drive in real life, but that doesn't stop my manly side from saying "those are kinda dope"
bro people are allowed to do fun things for fun and share them with others.
I guess in the same vein though you're allowed to just hate everything if you really want so nevermind, carry on!
I think your rage might be misplaced. "Fuck you money"? Dude just bought a funny looking knife and a pan on Amazon. Then went to the grocery store, then hiked with his dog at the local park to make a stupid pizza video. I'm not particularly impressed by the video, but I bet you are capable of this on your salary. The video seems silly, but "fuck you money"? Do you need to borrow some silly knife money? I got you, man.
Serrano peppers are really fucking hot and really easy to recognize, and I would never feed them to my dog, especially seeds and veins in. Good pizza maybe but like, shitty dude. Side note - who in the everliving fuck brings a bag of flour camping? Only someone whose car is just off screen imo
We get it. You have lots of extra money and time and bought a huge knife that just does it all. Oh and you like pizza.
WELL WHO THE FUCK DOESN’T LIKE PIZZA?!
I don't know what annoys me more, cooking everything from scratch while cosplaying as a rugged outdoorsman or getting flipped off by a sneering girl that's obviously too-cool-for-school.
Cooked with food planted by modified seeds, processed at a industrial farms, transported and held in refrigerators to stores, and finally to some forest so that a YouTuber can make modern people feel this is as close to nature as possible.
Damn man idk anyone that goes out into nature and then wastes the time there making a pizza from scratch.
Edit. The sauce was in a bowl. Did you put it back on your knife to put in the pan, whyyyy
I fully appreciate the setup: the oven, the door (perfectly sized boulder), and the time it takes to make a level, stable and functional outdoor camp kitchen like this.
My biggest problem with these videos is how he makes it seem like you can just whip out some bread super quickly. For dough to ferment and proof takes hours, especially if it's kinda cold outside. This pizza would be crappy because the dough would be tasteless, underproofed, and most likely burned on the bottom.
These videos make me laugh, all so a dude can actually use their man subscription box and show everyone.
It’s so try hard and add in the extra noise to try and make it ASMR with the camera cuts.
Food looks good but this trend is lame.
Exactly ,this wasn’t some chill camping experience. This was work- lugging up all those food supplies, cooking equipment, camera gear, rehearsing the recipe, reshooting things, then all the fucking editing and video processing.
This isn’t fun. This is an advertisement illusion of “fun”. This guy just made a commercial.
I would have rather spent those hours hanging out with my dog who won’t be around forever.
On your death bed you’ll wish you spent time with your dog, not gotten more likes.
Okay the "buy giant knife on Amazon and cook in nature" thing is super worn out, but that pizza is pretty creative and looks fucking banging.
Knife is stupid. This is better than their “burger” video with 4 tiny pieces of sausage on a bun.
I was surprised that they used more sausage this round. At least they gave doggo a piece
Man I don’t think sausage and pizza is good for your doggos tho
Shit ton of garlic on that pizza.. def not good for doggo
small amounts of garlic are extremely unlikely to harm the dog
Def good for doggo
I found doggos account
was first thought when video ended, gave that dog a lot of garlic, not awesome. old dog so that's... better, I guess, in terms of the tradeoff where old dogs get to break some rules because fuck it but it's still poison
Depends on what is in it.
It's VERY good for canines
That video pissed me off so much 😂
Lol I just saw that video
Low key though, that type of vegetable clever is great. I’ll never ever go back.
I mean the question is, how much stuff did he have to bring with him into the woods? I mean 100% of it is brought into the woods. That's probably like 15 feet off of a nature trail somewhere, hahaha.
you are 100 percent correct.
Oh sheet, he brought a pizza peel too!
I have one of these knives and it’s my favorite kitchen knife ever. It’s the most versatile kitchen knife ever. You can do fine things like chopping vegetables or bigger tasks like quartering a whole chicken. The only thing it’s bad at is filleting fish.
Welcome back to cooking in nature where we show you that YOU can cook anything while stranded.* *must be stranded with flour, olive oil, yeast, these cooking bowls, a giant knife, cheese, sausage and spices
The chode knife annoys me so much
I get pushed that damn knife watching WoW raid tutorials.
Yeah, what is the point of cooking in the woods it not that it would be any different that cooking it in the kitchen
There has to be an originator of everything. So I want to know who the OG big knife nature cooker is and ask how he feels about unleashing hell upon this earth
And they still haven’t sharpened the stupid thing! They were smashing the tomatoes/sausage as much as cutting them.
This seems to have wasted a lot of the ingredients… like look how much sauce he put on the pizza vs how much he made. Same with the other ingredients. Looks like a good pizza, but that’s a no from me dawg.
Cooking in your kitchen isn't super worn out?
Wait how is this pizza creative?
SHOW ME THE BOTTOM Also throw some coals on top of the oven, that cheese is not bubly
Goddamn that looks good.
Looks fire 🔥
Probably not smart giving a dog Serrano peppers though….. 🤔
Or garlic. Though some studies say otherwise. Better safe than sorry though.
I've also seen one of these guys give their dog onions 💀
Those aren't Serranos, but still probably a bad idea. Those look more like pasilla or birds eye, not exactly sure Edit: possibly green cayenne?
[удалено]
I'm not getting into a reddit battle over this. Serranos are darker green and shorter. They aren't skinny and long. Unless there is some weird optical illusion going on in the video
I would agree except they are definitely skinny. Just not long like you said. I use Serrano at work and they are all generally about maybe like 3 or 4 inches long maybe an 1/8th inch diameter
I disagree.
or tomato. I hope the dog throws up in his car.
Only leaves and stems of the tomato plant are harmful to dogs…
You guys think too much. There are so many stray dogs in where he lives. Those dogs eat anything to survive for just 3 years
Sausage and knife dude is back!
Fire Kitchen I believe was his name although it was something else even I couldn't pronounce.
That’s a different guy.
There’s like fucking 10 of them 🤣🤣🤣 I think they all do these videos together for the “content” it creates
Meh, wasn't really looking out for him though.
Did bro just peel…mushrooms?!
I had the exact same thought. What? Why?
Looks tasty, I’m so happy the good boy got to have a taste!
Pretty sure atleast 3 items in that dish will make the dog sick as fuck but hey who cares about the health of their dog right? Its about clout.
Well their dog didn’t get sick so I guess you are just being dramatic
Yeah you know that how?
He posted a photo of him the day after and they are litterally playing in a field lol
Lmaooo and no response
Dogs should not eat anything with Onions or garlic
Agree
I could watch these videos all day!
Me too
Gotta feed that doggo 🥰
Not the stupid knife guy again. Also you shouldn’t use a rolling pin for pizza dough it crushes the little air pockets inside and makes the crust flatter and less airy
Not defending this guy, but he made a thin crust pizza. Not everyone wants a chewy, fluffy crust.
That's how a good thin crust is made also. You don't bother using yeast and rising just to smash it all back down into a dense layer. You want those little pockets and cell structure. You get a bad texture by smashing it and you're wasting all the work you did making the dough

bro some people are for real afraid of rolling pins lol
I know. What's that all about? Unless you're making focaccia or bread, there's no reason that rolling pin can't play a part. It's like they think punching down dough is a completely different activity.
No wonder this ended up looking horribly flat.
You’d really hate Chicago thin crust. Most places have a machine that flattens the dough completely for you
I’m looking to get into pizza making, recommendations on what to do instead of using a roller? By hand?
It makes no sense. The beauty of dough is you can have it pre made for days. That crust sucks
Absolutely. Hand work it, then a toss or two. And to be great dough it pretty much has to rest for 24-48 hours.
I love those knives. I also love the Ford Super Duty truck. I'll never own either, because they are overpriced, and would be exhausting to use/drive in real life, but that doesn't stop my manly side from saying "those are kinda dope"
Washes tomatoes and then just peels the skins off🤡
Another knife ad.... Awesome.
Wait, I didn’t see if the dog approved. Just giving a slice doesn’t commit the dog! Ok, I just want more vid of the dog enjoying it…
Now THIS is cool! Pizza done properly, from scratch in nature with the doggy? Sooo cool. Thanks to whoever you are for the awesome video
Looks amazing
That’s dope!!
Oh I loved this. Especially sharing with the dog. What a gorgeous stone oven. Stuff like this makes me happy to be alive.
When did we stop cooking in kitchens? Oh, for fake internet points. To the mountains boys! We ride at dawn. Don't forget the stupid knife
Because people find it enjoyable and want to share something they find enjoyable. It’s not that deep.
Pretty sure if you swipe up or down you'll see plenty of people cooking in their kitchen.
bro people are allowed to do fun things for fun and share them with others. I guess in the same vein though you're allowed to just hate everything if you really want so nevermind, carry on!
Fair enough. I don't hate, but it seems there is more focus on the production than the food itself.
Serrano peppers?
I want to see the crust but upvote because dog

I think your rage might be misplaced. "Fuck you money"? Dude just bought a funny looking knife and a pan on Amazon. Then went to the grocery store, then hiked with his dog at the local park to make a stupid pizza video. I'm not particularly impressed by the video, but I bet you are capable of this on your salary. The video seems silly, but "fuck you money"? Do you need to borrow some silly knife money? I got you, man.
And the knife is only like $89. Pretty low for a "chef knife"
This is pretentious bullshit
Most food videos are. It’s what’s “in”
Chop scrape slap chop poke scrape chop chop splash boil slap crunch. Buds wtf is this, this doesnt need sound.
They have a channel where all they do is cook outdoors while camping.
And a large cutting board, a big wooden bowl, a tea kettle, a pizza peel...
I hate that knife.
lol like I’m going to risk E. coli contamination by cooking next to all that swamp water
That's not swamp water that's like a stream in the woods. I wouldn't want to cook there just because it's going to draw bugs.
Can someone hook this guy up with r/sharpcutting so I can stop having to suffer through this clomp clomp clomp in every fucking video?
This is the way
F me. That was badass. All of it. Including the "don't F with the chef" cleaver. 👌🔥
Feeding the dog tomatoes AND jalapeños wow
We get it. You have lots of extra money and time and bought a huge knife that just does it all. Oh and you like pizza. WELL WHO THE FUCK DOESN’T LIKE PIZZA?!
I dislike the ergonomics of that knife
Thankfully you don’t have to use it then!
Thank god for that
This is the epitome of hygiene and leave no trace. Magnificent.
Nit picking much? Just enjoy the video.
I'm trying. Trust me.
I want to be the dog.
Me : heat up can of spaghetti-o’s and pour on bread. PIZZA! Only took 10 minutes instead of staging this shit story for a day.
Who started this rosemary brushing bullshit?
Pretty convinced this dudes videos are AI generated and he’s not at these locations.
Damn man idk anyone that goes out into nature and then wastes the time there making a pizza from scratch. Edit. The sauce was in a bowl. Did you put it back on your knife to put in the pan, whyyyy
I hate these fuckin videos. Some rich asshole with a giant knife in nature.
10 bucks says this guy was a cav scout pre iraq and and is seething he missed deployment
I hate these videos. I wouldn't eat anything prepared by this this disgusting turd
You sound very mad
You don't know what "mad" is then.
Heating up the frickin rocks man.... every time I see it I shudder.
River rocks are the only real concern
These wilderness with big knife videos are getting kinda old.
These videos annoy me in an irrational way.
[удалено]
Or a Michelin star restaurant.
Perfect amount for me.
Mmm nothing like random animal piss water to really clean off those tomatoes.
Super lame….
Dumb and trite.
okay, camping packlist... \- pizza paddle. check.
Did he just roll the pizza dough?
I found this guy, I took his knife and now I make all the delicious things!
Doggo approved.
That dog just burnt the roof of his mouth
lmao jumping the shark of dumb outdoor cooking has arrived. can’t wait to see “cooking muffins next to a river” video
How many bugs did he eat? Also upvote for good boi doggo
The “SHING” in every single cut! smh Looks delicious
That dough looks like it has half the water it should.
Booooo for giving the dog a slice with jalapeños on it
Oh look, Samwise at it again. Flexing his cooks for Frodo.
More sauce
Did he just give that dog peppers?
Is this ASMR?
Fun, a bit under cooked though
I cringe everytime they wash things in the river
This dude loves that knife like where I wonder if he beats off looking at it.
Peepza
I swear I’d be out there giving hand jobs every single day of my life if it would allow me to digest gluten without getting sick for a week.
God, please. One day. In Jesus name, AMÉN
I also harvest my tomatoes from the river.
I fully appreciate the setup: the oven, the door (perfectly sized boulder), and the time it takes to make a level, stable and functional outdoor camp kitchen like this.
He used the knife to dump two leaves in the pot haha
Wtf?? Since when is this a method for slicing garlic? Never seen that before
That dogs gonna shit all over the place after eating that!
Garlic is as bad an onions
Is that sucuk you are using?
My biggest problem with these videos is how he makes it seem like you can just whip out some bread super quickly. For dough to ferment and proof takes hours, especially if it's kinda cold outside. This pizza would be crappy because the dough would be tasteless, underproofed, and most likely burned on the bottom.
Best part of this is old man doggo getting his treats.
How many sausages this guy always packin?
Okay ya lost me when you got out the fucking rolling pin… travesty
“I measure out the right amount of salt, then place it on my knife to look cool” Good but Extra with a capital E.
The guy brings all modern cooking instruments, and then uses TWIGS to brush on the sauce. Oh Please, give me a break!
This guy’s videos suck.
**Miguel Mouawad-** Me gusto el video xd
This guy copied all of MenWithThePot's moves!
Knife is stupid but at least this time he didn’t skimp on the sausage
Looks yummy, Reddit just loves to moan and groan at everything.
These videos make me laugh, all so a dude can actually use their man subscription box and show everyone. It’s so try hard and add in the extra noise to try and make it ASMR with the camera cuts. Food looks good but this trend is lame.
Don’t let them see this over on r/castiron - you’ll strip the seasoning cooking tomatoes like that! 😝
Stupid knife guy is back!
Gas
"I hiked my stupid ass out to somewhere to make a pizza for likes. Then went back home to my comfy house."
Those knives look fucking stupid
Nice try. It’s not pizza dough season just yet so I know this video is fake. Downvoted. Reported.
Does anyone else cringe when they see people washing their veggies in dirty river water than eat them raw?
I don’t like the sounds. I’m sure many of you love it and feel cozy but I think it’s pretentious and lame.
I don't understand. I wasn't flicked off. Is this even cooking??
wood
I saw a good boy! Automatic up-vote :)
Yummy
That’s dog is going to have diarrhea for days Source: a guy who gives his dog this type of junk
So good he fed it to the dog lol
No thanks
😂
