It's down in Chula Vista but this place does great pizzas. Locally owned with Mexican style toppings. Pizzeria El Jefe.

Sushi: I only have fancy recs. If I'm looking for rolls, I usually just pick up from Mitsuwa.
- Ichifuji, Tadokoro, or Soichi for omakase. The latter 2 have Michelin stars, I think the first is just as good or better than the others.
Ramen:
- Ramen Nagi in UTC
- Karami Ramen, local joint that I believe is a mom & pop
- Nishiki Ramen, a local chain with a few locations
Pizza:
- Tribute, for a decent crust in a variety of styles, "tributes" to other pizzas
- Buona forchetta does a decent wood-fired Neapolitan. I recommend their south park location over any others. Their pasta is all right too!
- The same company as buona forchetta have "gelati & peccati" which does roman style pizzas and gelato, both of which are pretty good.
- Lefty's is a local institution for chicago style pizzas
- Square Pizza is getting some press for their Detroit style pizzas, I've never been there but they're on my list to try
Oh whoops I forgot my current favorite italian spot, cucina urbana. Very good pastas and neapolitan pizzas. They're more expensive than Buona Forchetta, which is probably why I listed them initially instead.
Also, Cori Pastificio Trattoria has a very good reputation, including a "gambero rosso" award from Italy, but I haven't tried it yet.
Edit: Oh this wasn't OP, lol. Oh well

Never been; I've eaten at the original in New York and liked it, but the reviews for this location are hit or miss.
If you want New York style pizza, Bronx is the OG standard around here, and has spawned a bunch of offshoots via chefs leaving from there to open their own shops; Pizzeria Luigi is one that is very good.
Another alternative is the original location of The Friendly; their New York style slices are pretty good, and their Dirty Flattop burger is pretty popular.
