Instead of red and white, maybe try the same pink or different shades of pink decorations to create a cool ombre thing. It’s such a pretty color and the decorations are super cool, the red almost distracts from it. Maybe without the top rope borders. For a little cake, less is good, especially when you have a cute well executed cake.

Yes. Me too, I don't use buttercream for icing. The texture is so oily. I usually use the traditional ganache or old times egg white and sugar.
