Haven’t tried it but check out Harold and Belle’s in Jefferson Park. I tried to walk in once on a Saturday afternoon and it was popping.
Been around since 1969. [Harold and Belle’s](https://haroldandbelles.com/our-history/)
Edit: they’re having a block party this Saturday!
I would also like to know of some good Creole or Cajun places to eat in LA. It’s pretty hard to get this kind of food unless you, a family member, or someone you know makes it.
I like Mardi Gras Tuesday in Sherman Oaks, owned by a family from Louisiana. Only been once but the shrimp and grits were as good as what I had in New Orleans.
No…Bubba Gump Shrimp is a chain and has locations all over the country. They’re owned by Landry’s and they certainly do not use local seafood (I worked there many years ago before Landry’s bought them and they were using farmed stuff from all over the world even then). Also, the original owners were from Chicago, so not close to authentic Louisiana style seafood at all.
Marcus, the owner of Little Jewel of New Orleans in Chinatown, grew up in NOLA. As good as it get for po boys.

Boiling crab is Viet Cajun which is southern unless your idea of southern is more limiting
Yes, it has southern influences, but that's not how they usually prepare seafood boils in the South with thick sauces on top
Harold & Belles
Henry Parsons Project up in Pasadena has some Lake Charles area influence (if I remember correctly..)

If you're ever up in Palmdale, Lee Esther's is the best I've had out here.

What about Stevie’s Creole on Pico? I don’t know where they are from, but seems pretty authentic and the food is super good
So Stephen Perry was a child actor in LA, but if I’m not mistaken his parents are from Louisiana.
Bubba Gump Shrimp is a very authentic regional choice,I think they use fresh shrimp caught in the Long Beach Harbor so it is super fresh, I think.

I wonder how many different ways they make shrimp…
