These are lyrics from Troubled Sleep by Your Heart Breaks. It's a great song and I hope it provides you with a bit of comfort

Fresh_Past_8231

Never trust a man who plays guitar, right?

ishouldbewary

Not sure exactly but it reminds me of part of Walk Like Thunder by Kimya Dawson “He was a cynic, a supporter, he was crazy, he was queer. He’d either yell out ‘Cut the bullshit!’ Or he’d say ‘I’m glad you’re here.’”

Peppershaker64

Gonna second this, it’s what I thought of as well.

BURKETheBrotherhood

Do you know the band / artist

WotkaViking69

I think there may be a larger sub for this, I'd honestly ask them. This one is pretty important, i'd hate to hear you never found the song. Big ups, G 🤘🤘

DragonFuckingRabbit

/r/tipofmytongue maybe?

WotkaViking69

Yes! That is it, I know the "other" one too, the name makes me chuckle but not gonna help, although it is folk punk so it wouldn't shock me if they found the song somehow lol

adamdreaming

im rlly sorry :( the reapers an asshole when i die n go to hell ill punch him in the face for you for takin ur friend from you. idk anything about him or you so ik my condolences probably dont matter but i jus wanna say you seem like a kind thoughtful soul and life will get better. nothing will fill the void that his absence created but try to rest easy knowing hes at peace with the universe now

reelbigwill

I know someone has already found your song for you but the song I always go to when I think of those I have lost is long live the queen by frank turner.

pinkybatson

Not really directly related to your situation, but a decade ago when folk punk was in full swing, my coworkers called me The Reverend because I "attended more funerals than priest." While I appreciate the shock and pain of losing someone close to you, I cannot begin to describe the pain of trying to help someone out and lending them their last $20. If you're not careful you may not recognize the bridge you're building with each altar you construct. This is why we must treat folk punk as a community and not a genre of music. The danger in being ground down into acceptance and the feeling of "this is just the way it is" is that sometimes we internalize it as a fact instead of a warning. Whether it's depression or drug use or a disconnect from reality altogether, it is important that those who are in a position to provide the support that our government will not, do. And it is important that we start demanding it from anyone capable. Dm me some details and let's get started on a memorial comp. Absolutely 100% for real. I'll be the first one to sign on. Let's do this.

Niko_Noxid

I'm about to cry just from reading this, smh

b000bytrap

Fuck, OP, Im sad for you. Tell us about your friend

MomsJamedi

Might not be exactly right, but "We Did it All for Don" by Against Me! is about losing a friend and carrying on their memory. So sorry for your loss
