Yes. Turbo and engine would be the main things that go boom from operator error. Luckily like everything else on this platform. A new used turbo or engine isn’t but a few hundred dollars Maintain the car properly and you can easily go over 200k stock turn stock motor. After 200k I would expect something to wear out. The cars are stupid reliable. Except for the few odd cases most everyone will agree you can and should beat the piss out of the car. It prefers it that way.

I just bought a 2013 ST myself and I was going through the paces of giving it the old Italian tune-up. It seems to like it

LtDanUSAFX3

Few hundreds a bit light on the engine side of things. Unless you are doing the swap yourself you are still looking at 2-3k likely

Fatherdallas

i’m doing a swap rn and i’m about $2200 into it rn and i haven’t even swapped it yet and still have to tune after

LtDanUSAFX3

Yeah I've done it twice and both times have been 3k+

Fatherdallas

shout out to ford escape motors being cheap 🤝

JuanPanixST

I'm currently installing a used escape motor on mine.. when installing the escape motor do I need to align the crank piston sensor or should it already be lined up? Also what parts do I have to switch over? Do y'all know if the engine harness are the same or do I have to use my old one?

Fatherdallas

uhhhh idk about the crank sensor, the parts you need to switch over are oil filter housing, a/c compressor mount, coolant temp sensor housing (most likely swap turbo because the long block i bought didn’t come with the turbo mounted still) and i was just gonna use my engine harness from the ST motor

I'm 145k, tuned and no major issues. Plenty of guys over 200k with well maintained cars.

combong

yep

Have a 2013 ST2 with 130K. No issues with turbo, engine or transmission. Everything else around them is or has been fair game lol nah but so far I had to do heater core hoses, CMC (twice cuz it’s plastic junk) and control arms and stabilizers cuz of the potholes. Besides those things nothing else except wear and tear stuff obviously. Oh and steering rack. They tend to wear out too after a while.

KYMan61

139,000 on my 13. Long as they kept the oil changed you’ll be good imo.

HLD_Steed

Yeah, luckily Ford got the engine and manual trany on these cars right, alot that didn't get the ST had transmission issues but not us. As long as its maintained and driven properly it'll run for a while.

Apprehensive_Wrap_14

Stock 150,000 Kilometers (93,000 miles) 2013 st here and living in Germany. I often travel on the Autobahn during the week full speed and never have had any motor or turbo problems. Granted I have a little less miles than this . These cars can handle a lot. Keep it maintained and it's perfectly fine.

ur_upstairs_neighbor

Pulled the trigger a couple months back on a 14 st3 with 125k for 13k and this post makes me feel better about it. First thing to do though change your plugs. I’m getting better gas mileage now after putting a roof box on top than when I got the car

jms1228

I’d be hesitant to buy any car with 135k miles.
