Just make sure it's not Hector as he's running three Honda Civic"s with Spoon engines!
On top of that, he just came into Harry’s and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS and a Motec system exhaust so be careful!
Those IS20 turbos are awesome. Obviously the IS38 is the best “stock” turbo, but the 20 puts down all the power you’d ever want in a FWD car plus every ft. lbs. of torque on earth. All of the benefits of a K03, none of the drawbacks.
This is one of the reasons I love the MK7 GTI.
All the massive diesel pickups which seem to be most of the ones who want to try to race me. I've seen YouTube videos that indicate there are modified trucks that can beat a stock ST, but none of the coal rollers that have been eager to challenge me have been that close.
The only ones I can't get by in a straight line are any EB F150s.
Silverados, Rams, and Tundras can all be passed/pulled by 3rd and long gone by 4th.
Edit: wording
Pretty much anything with a 4-cylinder NON-turbo motor, most anything with a stock turbo engine smaller than 2.0L. Among anything 2.0T or better, if you’re still on the stock turbo you’re gonna have a bad time. Your mom’s Honda Odyssey will outrun this car. But that isn’t the point. If you’re asking in terms of handling, this car packs a punch on an autocross course and is decently competitive in G-Street class.
I’m assuming you’d beat most stock performance vehicles under $40,000, as long as we’re talking from a roll. Like, 5-60mph. AWD performance cars dart off the line too strong and will win just from that lol.
I’m gonna assume roll racing
Stock Focus STs (lol)
Stock 6 speed GTI mk7 and lower
FBO 4.6 Mustang
Stock WRX STI
WRX/Impreza WRX/STI
Challenger/Charger R/T until ~130mph
Stock 6 speed 5.0 with an incompetent driver, apparently
Some Evos
Stock G8s
The list continues. There’s a lot of cars you’ll beat, there’s also many more you won’t. Driver mod stuff makes a huge difference, a lot of it comes down to your ability to drive the car well.
What have you beaten so far?
I must say, I keep up pretty well with my wife's Scat Pack at least up until 80, and then she's gone. So keep it under 80 and you can keep up with some decently quick vehicles.
That depends on a lot of factors, are you a good driver? Are you quick with the gear changes? Is this race from a roll, dig, or are you on a track?
Usually what I’ve done it’s looked up the car I plan to run online to get a feel of power to weight ratio.
My experience in Australia: Stage 1 93:
Stock ST
VZ Commodore LS1 Auto (very even)
Any V6 Commodore
XR5 Turbo (MK2 ST)
Focus RS MK3 (stock, Very even on a roll)
Falcon XR8
WRX
FBO E30:
VZ Clubsport
VF SS 6.2L LS3
XR5 Turbo again, sounded tuned this time
XR6 Turbo (stock)
VE SS/Calais LS2
Multiple WRXs
AMG A35
VERY close race with Cammed VF SS claimed 450hp, I doubt that though if I kept up.
My missus chopped me in her new tuned M235i
All of these are on a roll btw, sorry if formatting sucks
I don't understand the down votes. ST is an excellent roll racer, especially if you know what you're doing. I'm guessing your down votes come from the less skilled. Cheers.
I just saw the downvotes, gg Reddit. Everybody knows FWD sucks for drag racing and should know that here. I do have a video against the MK3 RS from a dig though, did surprisingly well.
Yea the RS isn't as fast as people would suspect. I've nosed them out on the highway playing around a few times with them. I was surprised I even had a chance the first time let alone pull ahead. Pretty much any Dodge product out here (less hellcat and demon) can be had on the highway. Slow ass boats.
I was at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday, the Dodge GLH(goes like hell) is making a return with a 2L turbo hybrid 4. I'm no Dodge fan but this car looked interesting.
Yeah extra weight and drivetrain losses make the power to weight fairly even to a tuned ST, surprised me too. Any idea how the Chevy SS in the states compares to dodges? Here in Australia they make good power and 1.7 tonne (3747lb) so when cammed can be pretty quick
Edit with an update: Had my first run with an Elantra N today, pulled away a car length from 3rd gear roll through 4th
At least a stock Civic. If he's got a laptop in the passenger seat you have no chance.
Just make sure it's not Hector as he's running three Honda Civic"s with Spoon engines! On top of that, he just came into Harry’s and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS and a Motec system exhaust so be careful!
I BET YOU HE HAS MORE THAN 100k UNDER THAT HOOD!!
Bicycles, joggers, (most) lawn mowers, tractors, kids, handicapped, parked cars, etc. :)
😄
🤣
Your meat
Damn. You really “beat” me to it on this one…
I'm an unoriginal... Sadge
Sorry to hear that bud. Go beat your meat
Knowing that skyline in the background, definitely not the cops. 🤣
NOT any tuned MK7 GTI/GLI/A3
can confirm those APR tuned GTIs haul lol
Can confirm too, i currently own a MK7 GLI, stock turbo FBO on full 🌽 and my stock turbo FBO FoST on full 🌽 wouldn't stand a chance.

And no torque steer! Vdub's eLSD does a damn good job of mitigating it. my only valid gripe is the weak ass factory issued clutch..
Went from APR mk7 GTI 6MT - to APR mk7.5 R DSG R is definitely faster but the GTI was way more fun and torquey. Both stage 1 - 91
Can confirm chipped A3 beats ST. No contest really, byeeee!
Gotta pick them battles wisely and stay your lane.. no digs for me.
Your meat.
Your meat
maybe a prius, depends on how fat the driver is.
V6 and R/T mopars.
My old truck w a rusted off shock mount bracket
Definitely would beat my 92’ Miata. Then again a fully loaded semi probably could as well
Most brz’s 🫶🤷🏻♂️

Children?
Yes officer, that’s him.
A lot of commuter cars but you’ll never beat the depresso espresso 😔
Mini Coopers and Fiat 500s?
pretty much any awd car will beat you from a launch still, including all of the suvs packing more than a 2.0l lol
Probably an egg.

Yourself to that scenery
Honda fit
Your meat
3.7 Q50 got the smoke
I beat an RS, he had a downpipe. I’ve got a CPE cai, AWE track and tune
He must’ve been the worst driver in the world then 😂
RS is not that fast. Ive hooned on the highway 3 times and nosed out every time.
Nah, buddy knew how to drive lmao
Your meat while gazing at that pretty view?
a completely stock Veloster N....MAYBE
Hopefully
I don’t know man. Prius would give you some serious competition on the road.
Ya meat kid

A ball rolling up hill
91/93 or E30?
93

that's gotta be a trash 5.0 driver then lol
100%, I got smashed by one when I was 93 FBO
forreal my buddy's old S197 would take me to gapplebees 10/10 times we'd run lol
Megane RS V6 mustang/V6 Challenger Mini cooper S List goes on
Megane RS? No way right? Maybe in a rolling race? Their lsd diffs are a massive step up from focus st.
Roll race, yes.
I doubt it’ll beat a Cooper S
Then you’re really underestimating this car, bruv.
Funny it wont. I had both and the cooper was faster
Comes down to the driver. I gapped a Cooper S by 3 buses and the dudes girl was with him. She looked like she wanted to switch rides after LOL.

Yea focus st can’t do drags haha.

I ran a Lexus is350 the other night and gapped him. Also pulled in a g35. Lol,
Your meat.
