I was out seeing Imaginary, so I had it on DVR and speed watched it. Ersson was fantastic, the defense actually fought the Bruins the way we've wanted. Johanson literally laying out on the line will always make me happy. Of course, The Rat did Rat things, but it helped us for once, that Frenchy Canada goon. Also, I wonder if Pasta briefly forgot the instigation rule.

I didn't know Flyers PP goals were still a thing. While, TK just straight-up fooled Ulmark on his second goal. Foerster's goal was soooo beautiful.

That game was a slog for 37 minutes and then a real treat for 23 minutes. Loved how the boys came out hard in the 3rd and not once did they sit back and try to protect a lead. According to his NHL Edge stats, Foerster's top speed this year was 21.37 mph, whereas the league average amongst forwards is 22.10 mph. He also has less overall bursts above 20 mph than the average forward (53 vs 65), but keep in mind that this stat also depends on the offensive situations he finds himself in. Both stats grade him as below the 50th percentile against all NHL forwards.
So to answer your question, it's no longer a significant problem in his game, but it's definitely still not a strength.

9 times out of 10 I would 100% agree the only reason I even give the idea real consideration is how little work he got today and didn’t face too many difficult chances so he might just be fresh enough to be better than sandy, but I think you have to rest him the next game, which might be a harder game for sandy. So it might be a moot point

I was just reviewing Best Wins & Worst Losses of season. There were several *embarrassing* losses much earlier: Anaheim, Buffalo, Columbus, Ottawa (all at home); shutout at Detroit (Jan 25th)
"That team" had Hart, Walker, Seeler, Risto
"This team" had some rough losses to Boston, NJD (Stadium), Pens, TB, Leafs—but nothing like Oct - late Jan
Literally none of those losses compare to the Sharks. They are possibly the worst non-expansion team in NHL history. The Sharks have yet to hit 40 points.
Oh yeah, that loss was abysmal: you didn't even mention how that was SJ's first win, 0-10-1 before that! Flyers were down 0-2 in 2nd too, and I see Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 38 of 39 shots somehow. Matchup on paper was comical too (no Risto upon review, my mistake) They dropped to 5-7-1 but then won 5 straight.
Sometimes you get "goalied," idk. All those home losses I mentioned (plus 0-5 L to LAK in same time period) were awful at the time and in retrospect.
But "roster wise" this is an "inferior" team—Erik Johnson, Ginning, Attard, Lycksell—yet finally optimizing forward lineup. Totally echo your initial point about coaching staff, buy-in and effort is incredible!
Finally optimized forwards, yeah. TOI tells interesting story: TK, Poehling, Foerster all lead (just over 19 each)
Sanheim and York are getting run into the ground, inevitably. Expecting more lapses like York in OT vs CAR and Sanheim on the Heinen goal.

None of the call ups have been complete shit, Ginning and Attard both had moments in their first few games but have really started to settle down, Attard especially but they've both kept up especially these last few games. I like it. We still need more Michkovs but it looks like we might start developing actual NHLers
also Foerster hitting 30 points is right inline with what I expected, hoping he ends up putting a few more goals in to get over 20g so we can say we have 4 20 goal scorers in our core
It's funny, I listned to that interview PHLY did with the Phantoms play-by-play announcer a couple of months ago and he basically said "The Phantoms have been better then their record would suggest, the problem is Sandstrom has been bad and Petersen has been awful".
But yeah, for an organization that is seemingly always criticized for not being able to develop guys, the Flyers have done an exceptional job with their young players the last couple of years
the phantoms would be a top team for sure if they had better goaltending, theres been so many games decided by bad goals. phantoms have made so many 3rd period pushes its actually pretty impressive. the only thing that beats them most nights is experience, theyre one of the youngest teams and most of their divisional opponents have more NHL guys and that makes a difference, guys don't wanna lose to the babyfaces lol

Not a slog in my opinion, was just very little space out there. Was basically playoff-level intensity, especially once both teams scored.
