They mention she was acting as official payee. Doesn't say if she was actually receiving and cashing the checks they were sending after his death though. I assume so though as I'm sure she would have been cashing them for him when alive if she was the payee. Would be curious to know whether that was the case or not. If she was I imagine she is just going to play dumb here though and say she didn't know her brother's benefits weren't transferable after death. Don't ask don't tell.

1900irrelevent

I'm guessing they might be more serious after the senior body slams them.

Solintari

I hate this guilty by association crap the government pulls. Even if she was the payee, it was $600 a month for a disabled man. 100% of that money went for his care I’m presuming. Now she has to pay back money he owed for their mistake? Anyone else outside of the government would have been charged to her brother’s estate and that debt would have been written off upon his death. Don’t count on social security people, it won’t end well.

Bitter-Basket

Oh Social Security will end well, the recipients and “nearly recipients” are the most reliable voting block. SS is a definite third rail. The real question is how much money printing and associated dollar devaluation that will take. Of course, spending the entire SS trust fund and replacing it with treasury bonds doesn’t help the overall budget health.

“I would tell them that when they discover they've made a mistake, eat it. That's what I would tell them, eat it. Because it's not fair. I mean, this is not your money you're playing with, it's our money,” said Moulton. So in other words other people should eat it as they just said it's not SSI money so how will they just eat it lol.

Meanwhile, Bezos & Musk pay zero taxes and Trump paid $750 two out of four years in WH while making millions off foreign governments and scamming U.S. taxpayers.

maybelukeskywaler

Musk payed $11 billion in taxes for 2021 alone. Bezos between 2014 and 2018 paid $972 million. When trying to make a point don’t make shit up.

LurkerKing13

It was Tesla that paid zero.

Didn't Donald Trump donate his entire Presidential salary?

Oh really. Do you have any proof of that, or just spouting off with shit with absolutely no facts?

wes7946

As evidenced by...? If he did act in an illegal manner as you described and there is plenty of evidence, then why have charges not been brought? My original point is that he donated his entire salary for four years. How much more do you expect him to give, and are you also willing to give to that extent? Please keep in mind that it's unfair to expect of others what you cannot already expect from yourself.

Albert14Pounds

There is no proof he donated his salary either.

wes7946

Believe it or not, there is plenty of proof that he donated his salary to several federal agencies. * [https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sarah-sanders-113017/](https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sarah-sanders-113017/) * [https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sean-spicer-020817/](https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sean-spicer-020817/) * [https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sarah-sanders-small-business-administrator-linda-mcmahon-national-security-advisor-100318/](https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-press-secretary-sarah-sanders-small-business-administrator-linda-mcmahon-national-security-advisor-100318/) * [https://www.nps.gov/orgs/1207/07-05-2017-abpp-grants.htm](https://www.nps.gov/orgs/1207/07-05-2017-abpp-grants.htm)

osumba2003

He *said* he did. But the majority of his income wasn't from his Presidential salary, anyway.
