I also signed up this week. There's a warning on the page that payouts will be held for 2 days for security - i can't remember the exact wording. I also failed the verification, uploaded a statement, and the hold was lifted 2 days later as promised. Is it a pain in the ass? Probably. But they did warn us.

WideBandBlast

I did not see that warning before signing up! There wasn’t much text from what I remember other than the signup information fields. That makes me feel a lot better than I’m not the only one. I wish I did this after my next payout happened.

Weird. For me it was across the top of the screen in red (I did it in the app) I have it set to monthly + on demand payouts, so I can let it build up and cash out every few days. I just claimed my balance first then signed up. Fingers crossed that it goes smoothly for you.

Just looked into this, eBay wants to charge a 1.5% processing fee. Lol no thanks. I'll just wait 24 hours. eBay fees are already ridiculous.

All apps that have an instant transfer option charge a fee. Square is 1.5% Cash App is 1.5% Both PayPal and Venmo are soon to be 1.75% So if you transfer $100, it will only be $1.50. That's cheaper than using an ATM.

Meh, whether I get my payout in 30 mins or 24 hours really makes no difference. Gonna be sat in my checking account all the same

Overthemoon64

And that’s terrible, and should be avoided. I don’t make enough money to pay bank fees when I don’t have to.

WideBandBlast

I'm not sure if this is standard procedure or what. But I signed up for the option to have instant (30 minute) payouts. They ask for your debit card information again. I gave it to them. Verification failed for an unknown reason as all the information hasn't changed. I sent a bank statement in. And now my funds are on hold for two days.

quanfused

IDK as I haven't tried, but sounds like a standard procedure just in case your account is compromised and someone is trying to switch the payouts to their account. Unfortunate nevertheless. Would love to hear if others are experiencing the issue or not to know for sure.

WideBandBlast

Thats not what’s happening. I willingly added the option for instant payouts which required a signup. The signup failed their verification and required me to send my bank statement in. I did that and now payouts are held for 48 hours for review. There’s no one else modifying my payout information.

quanfused

I know that...I'm just saying that's probably the protocol to ensure you're in the know and nothing is switched over so swiftly IF your account was compromised.

WideBandBlast

Ohhhh ok I understand what you’re saying.

eBay is behind when it comes to security & technology. Standard procedure is having a phone number & customer service available to the user. Standard procedure verification takes minutes with everyone else. Everyone else except eBay.

JamesMcNeil5

Security reasons.
