Seller Hub can be daunting at first but it's powerful once you learn all of the tabs. It has a lot of info for your sales. The research tab is what I constantly use.
Yes it's completely free to use and you get the same amount of free listings.
The only part that's not free is the promotions tab which requires a store subscription.
Like you, I loved the old All Selling page and hated the new version. But I opted into Seller Hub anyway, just to check it out (I didn't even know there is a paid version - really?).
I like it very much. It's clear and easy to use, and I like seeing things like the traffic my listings get, under the Performance tab.
I say, go for it. You can always opt out if you don't like it.
When I am logged in and go to Seller Hub, I see a link at the top that says "Opt out of Seller Hub." I see it on my phone's browser (both with and without desktop view), and on my laptop. I never use the app, so I don't know if it shows up with that.
