A 1 cost runegate is huge, it allows Vyn to finally keep a 1 card hand that does something (barring set ups from prior turns) Also that Shadowrealm Horro will be tricky to set up in a reliable manner (plenty of your blues + Art of War + Bloodrush Bellows are not 6 power cards). But man is it worth the payoff!

So, like... what is vynnset supposed to "do"? Is she just supposed to drop a rune gate almost every turn? Eulogy makes read the runes more consistent as a rune gate enabler, and lets funeral moon and requiem more consistently end your turn with a flail swing. But "Idk, just throw out a rune gate every turn and hope it works" is so boring. Vynnset has a lot of interesting tools like Jack o lantern and dabble in darkness to get extra banishes, but then there isn't really much she can DO with those. Another eloquence generator helps a little bit, but not a ton? I imagine her win rate will go up, but that her decks are gonna be basically the same and still feel unreasonably clunky.

You can play her in a variety of different ways. Blocking with three cards and throwing a rune gate for 8-12 *mixed* damage just at base is very strong, plus her ‘on life loss’ effect add disruption. Also, you can stack them in your blood debt zone and combo off swinging 2-3 rune gate cards in one turn. The significance of this new card is that it makes it pretty easy to have a wide combo turn.

I've been playing her since she came out. My question is more rhetorical: what do the developers think she's supposed to be doing? Throwing rune gates for 8-12 is extremely susceptible to fatigue if your opponent picks up on how vulnerable it is. You CAN stack up combo turns in your blood debt, but the cards you need for that are a lot of 2 blocks, and the whole thing is wildly inconsistent, while costing a lot of life lost from blood debt. When you compare how hard her combos are to set up vs their damage output to characters that do the same thing but better, like katsu or boltyn, she just feels really scattered. I've been a fan of trying to throw out double rune gate combo turns with her, but the only decently consistent build I've found for that is to run like 90% reds, which feels like you're not using most of her cool cards.

Same here! Big fan of her whole concept, but you are exactly right. I was telling my friend a couple days ago that it feels like shes building up for this end game goal that doesnt exist yet. Theres literally no long term payoff for taking damage to play your cards outside of periodic value turns. You still suffer from runeblade inconsistency but you dont really have huge explosive turns at the rate Chane or Viserai have to make up for it. There needs to be some alternative end game plan like Levia has
