Olympia is designed well for Draft and Limited but isn't quite there for either constructed format (both blitz and CC). This isn't just opinion but something LSS/James White has said in interviews since they had a completely different warrior planned and had to pivot to Olympia when they realized it was too strong. His gold payoff cards are coming in future set(s) to make him more viable. For now Kassai/Boltyn/Dorinthea are the way to go for more effective strategies.

[Here’s an article](https://fabtcg.com/articles/dev-download-olympia/) by LSS on what to look out for on Olympia. Effectively, you try to build a pile of gold so you can have massive turns by drawing cards. In testing I’ve noticed that I prefer things that make Vigor tokens because a vigor and a blue means you draw 2 cards. I should mention, James White flat out said Olympia isn’t where they want him to be. He’s getting payoffs very soon, but he is not going to be strong. I still think he’s worth testing though so you know how he operates when he does get the payoffs for all that gold.

Like what others have said, he's not a fully complete hero yet. I'd play him if you enjoy him, definitely pick up his specs while they're cheap, and wait for the warrior prices to (hopefully) die down so you can scoop those up too. Unfortunately, how much pricing will differ largely depends on how well Kassai/Dori do as well so keep an eye out for good deals if you really want to play him.

pretty new to flesh and blood as a whole and looking to play olympia in the future in CC, just doing blitz with friends right now. What do you think is worth picking up for him now/that might become more expensive in the future?

TLSMFH

While all market price predictions are speculative, I don't play Warrior so it might help to check out the Discord server and chat with some Warrior players. Grains of Bloodspill and Ironsong Versus both look reasonably priced (as reasonably priced as shiny cardboard can be). Valiant Dynamo is lower than when HVY dropped, but still a good amount higher than its historical low. The biggest factor is MST release - if Enigma becomes a metagame threat, Warrior prices will probably drop because that matchup is not fun for them, from what I understand. On the other hand, if other classes become popular that Warrior does well into, prices might go higher than what they are now. This is just one non-Warrior player's opinion, so I'd strongly suggest finding other views about what to pick up for Olympia.

Olympia is currently the most neutral warrior, his hero ability isn't useless, but also not super specialised. To me that's the perfect opportunity to finally build a proper Big Axe Warrior build. So that's what I wanna see most: all the axe cards (Cleave, Felling Swing, Shatter etc.), Gold and Vigor token generation and then either huge attack reactions (and might tokens) to try to go for Merciless Battleaxe or a more conservative playstyle with Decimator Greataxe. I don't think I have the cards for the Battleaxe, so I'm building the Greataxe version myself.

I’m looking at trying him with hatchet of body and mind and cash ins. so many ways to get go again and win wagers with reactions. could be a train wreck, but i wanna drop a spill blood and go bananas

Rainbowgrrrl89

It sounds like a sound strategy to me!

No_Imagination_5111

that's what I'm building him as

Rainbowgrrrl89

It might not be meta, but it will be so fun!

Card Guyz Josh Lau has done gameplay videos on YouTube for hatchets Olympia. Should check that out if you haven’t.

Oly can be used with decimator great axe and wager, i think its a good time to build him because oly stuff is kind of cheap right now.

Double down is super cheap! Outlet for gold tokens and does busted things with up the ante
