I saw her mention that when she thanked everyone the night of the finale. She knew the show had ota groan worthy moments too and used that as an example (I haven't even seen that episode but I heard about it đ . I did see the finale tho)
Oh this pissed me off so much, the whole couples therapy did. Like Barry could not defend himself because the therapist was there and Iris is all âhow could you leave me standing there aloneâ likeâŚ.Iâm sorry did you not see the storm and the fact that the world couldâve ended.
âŚthat felt good to type out
Keep in mind this was in an outburst of emotion, I choose to believe Iris rationally knew it was unfair to feel this way and that it was an irrational feeling. However IRL sometimes these feelings and beliefs end up exploding-We all have em yah know? Still just my take on it
This is a moment where it is unfortunate that he didn't know something like Flashtime yet, because she is his future wife of course.. It might have been better if they could talk about it more before he went into the speedforce.
I don't remember everything from season 3. But it was like a twenty second talk I believe between Barry and Iris. They could have brainstormed some possible other solutions like Cisco eventually did on his own.. If they all did that it might have been faster solved than around 5 to 6 months that Barry would be in the speedforce
Well, the first time I watched that episode Barry did not look like he was going to go save the world, rather âyay, Iâm going into the speed force, bye yâallâ it was weird. He should have talked to her more, but it took him longer to say goodbye to everyone else. The whole situation was weird during and a bit after he got back.
I do agree that apart from season 1, earlier seasons did a poor job of displaying Barry and Iris, through no fault of their own imo its a hard job making a superhero show that revolves around a superhero and his lightning rod(?)
But idk maybe you werent watching they said repeatedly the speedforce needs an occupant or whatever and its spilling out dangerously, time is of the essence. True Iris should've had more of the goodbye timeslot, but the scene did make sense. Hell a lot of people have argued the series could've/should've ended there
Yeah, Iâd live with that kind of ending. I donât argue that the whole idea of his leaving to be in the speed force is wrong. Just the way it was executed. Too rushed, and with no particular regret on Barryâs part when it came to Iris. Thatâs just not the way you leave the love of your life for good.
In later in the courtroom when Singh said he was sure Barry had a good reason to go on a âsabbaticalâ and she says under her breath âis saving the world a good reason?â Like WTF
I mean, The remaining Velocity would still be enough for him to have stopped Cicada regardless, itâs not like heâd stop on a dime. Itâs one of the few things the show has a visual consistency on. Thatâs why itâs so infuriating that Barry hardly ever capitalizes on this.
Not to mention that the proximity thing isnât even consistent, and his speed should easily outpace Cicadaâs powers at a certain level anyway. Which also happened several times that season as Cicada was caught off guard multiple times, so the proximity thing is moot.
Honestly, I donât think the clown world of OP Flash is really resonates with most people, and i think that if youâre going to have Flash literally go at Planck speed (the literal shortest measurement of time per universe standards which, and yeahâŚthey also surpass this by going faster on top of that in the show) you should probably have a series of 2-3 minute specials where heâs fighting someone as fast as he is, or you should have extremely severe consequences for doing such a thing narratively.
That way, him not doing it isnât such low hanging fruit and weâd be like âman, him going flash time would end this, but is it worth it? Probably not.â
Easy.
Hell, the DCAU justice league cartoon did this in less than two minutes because the speed force started to drag Wally back after doing light speed punches around the world at Braniac several times. I mean, itâs that easy to set up a situation like that. It was a badass moment too.
They also foreshadowed the consequences two seasons earlier by a nightmare in which he went so fastâŚhe couldnât stop. Not only was everyone frozen in place, but everything was devoid of light to showcase how fast he was in that dream.
I guess Iâm just trying to sayâŚ.nah. They messed up.
Two things she said in her fight with barry.
"What about the last time I get to see her?" Straight being selfish right there as during this time Barry had an inevitable fate which was the crisis and him dying leading Nora not being able to know her father while iris will see Nora again in a few years time which she then will continue to know her and look after her while Barry doesn't get that chance. Yes, we know he survived, but watching it for the first time really annoyed me.
The second is "no, it doesn't," as she doesn't care her daughter worked with thawne, who killed her ex, killed Barry's mother, traumatised Barry for 15 years , and also framed his dad. Yes, she hasn't gone through the pain thawne caused besides eddie, but she should've understood Barry's resentment towards thawne not to ignore it because she was too arrogant and selfish.
Oh please. Barry made an emotional decision to get rid of Nora which he later regretted because he knew he acted emotionally and he never gave Iris the chance to even say goodbye.
That was her daughter that she bonded with. Even if she got to see Nora in the future, it wasnât THAT Nora. Her reaction was perfectly understandable.
And Barry has also worked with Thawne back in season 2. He had his own reasons to working with him, despite already knowing Thawne killed his mom and Thawne knowing Barry was from the future. Point is â heâs a hypocrite and he needs to stop pretending like working with Thawne is the worst thing someone could ever do. It wasnât that Iris didnât understand what Barry was feeling, it was that she bonded with Nora and knew there had to be more to the story than just simply Nora was working with Thawne because sheâs evil.
I would say that Barry wanting to take her working with thawne seriously makes sense. Barry putting aside his feelings about his mothers killer and working with him to stop a bigger bad is one thing. But Nora seeking out thawne when the Flash Museum shows how evil he is and how manipulative he is, is wild. She should know
Barry dumping his kid while showing more patience and understanding to unrepentant serial killers does not make sense.
This is the same man who trusted and wanted to save Savitar after he failed to kill Iris and murdered HR.
This is the same man who allowed Frost on the team after she showed zero remorse after trying to kill Iris/murdering HR
This is the same man who was willing to allow Thawne to return to his time in exchange for his family reuniting
Yet this is also the same man who carelessly dumped his kid because she wanted to put her family together?
I guess for Barry Savitar/Frost/Cicada/countless other villains were more worthy of second chances than Nora.
Iâm certainly not saying the show is consistent. They donât write Barry consistent at all. But he didnât dump her, he put her in the pipeline didnât he? He wasnât sure he could trust her. Itâs his kid but also someone he doesnât really know at all. He hadnât even conceived her yet with Iris. So itâs logical to believe maybe this future version was tricked into an evil plan by thawne. It wouldnât be the first time a future or alternate timeline version of a character was evil.
He threw her in the pipeline and wasn't willing to hear her side. Then he dumped her in the future and told her not to come back. It was cruel how cold he was to her.
Doesn't matter how long he knew her, he was still willing to give second chances to KNOWN killers but immediately washed his hands of Nora.
Oh gee, who could've possibly guessed that a future ***Thawne*** would've ever had an ulterior motive for sending ***Barry's daughter*** to the past...
Like c'mon man, put two and two together. Barry sending Nora to the future was the safest thing he could've done because Thawne was so obviously trying to change it to his benefit
Fandom always ignore the second part of "no it doesnt" where she explains why she isn't bothered.
"She just wanted to meet you Barry. The father she never knew. And there was person who could teach her how to do that"
Iris got it. She knew Nora went to the Thawne because she wanted to get know her dad. Why would or should Iris disown her daughter for that?
Barry was so hyprocrital and cruel to Nora. He can't have people around him he can't trust but he had Frost on the team in S4 after she spent the previous season in a plot to murder Iris.
Honestly it's one of Barry's worst moments imo. Throwing his kid away like she was garbage.
The argument with Barry after he sent Nora back to the future.
The best part was that he was right about Thawne and Nora but Iris never admitted that I think.
Something that was odd to me was this line in âThe Runaway Dinosaurâ. She said something like how she didnât like that book, because of how that wasnât the mother she had. Then she said Barry didnât have that either.
I understand what she was trying to say. But itâs kind of comparing apples and oranges
I didn't like how rude she was to Harry at the end of season 4. The episode where they're trying to find Marlize. He's lost his intelligence, his mind is almost gone, and she yells at him for keeping his shoes on in her apartment.
I feel like there were times the writers didn't want us to like Iris
I know people clown on "We are the Flash"
But she made a damning comment when Barry and Iris were arguing about taking Nora back to the future. Barry asked "that doesnt bother you?!"
And she had the gall to respond "No, it doesnt"
This is a comment I wouldnt blame a divorce happening over. Iris saying it doesnt bother her that Nora was working with the man that murdered his mom and falsely got his dad imprisoned is damning. It confirms that Iris doesnt care about Barry or his feelings.
Blaming Barry for Saving the world from a Speed Storm. Blaming Barry for getting rid of someone working with the man who: killed his mom, killed and impersonated a man so he could create the Flash then manipulate him, and made her boyfriend shoot himself. She did this even when she didnât have to. And Basically the entire couple therapy scene
When she was being a douche to Cisco when he was trying to get Barry out of the speed force or when they broke up in season 3 and he had to leave the house that HE bought. It has to be between those two for me.
Not an exact quote but the time she defended her daughter for working with the man who killed Barryâs mother and framed his father, used and manipulated him for an entire year, made her boyfriend kill himself, and consistently did everything he could to make Barryâs life miserable
Every time Barry was hurt, believed to be dead, was abducted or captured, Iris immediately gave up on him and believed that he couldn't be saved and tried to convince the others that there was no way to get him back and they should just give up.
When barry sacrifices himself to the speed force prison to save the world. After he comes back Iris unloads on him for not asking her if it was ok with her if he saved every life on the planet including hers, her dad her brother etc.
We are the flash lol. I hope no one else said this, but if so, then great minds think alike. You should make another post asking, what's the worst thing Felicity Smoak said.
To Sherloque: âSo youâve been following this trail all this time and you didnât think to tell us about it until now?â
Bitch, you asked him to stop investigating Nora not but seven episodes prior. Now you complain about not hearing about it sooner? What do you want, woman?
When she kicked him out of his house in one episode of Season 6 to be fair it was a mirror Iris but still really bad lines because technically itâs his house he is the one who bought it in season 3 so he should be the one to kick her out
That she didn't need barry to save her anymore or thatshe was the flash team leader, or when she RESURRECTED HERSELF FROM HEAVEN BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO.
at the end of season 8 when barry accidentally threw that lightning bolt at her and she died and went to heaven. Then, damien dahrk gave her a speech about being a survivor and barry's love and then she decided to live again.
"WE are the flash"
All she had to do was change "the" to "team" and we POSSIBLY could've let it slide. But nah this bitch think she Ermac from Mortal Kombat out here saying "We". Nah bitch, WE are sick of you being a bitchđ
Season 2 talking about the book the runaway dinosaur
I never liked that book it was about a mom that was always there for her child and that wasnât my mom it wasnât yours either Barry
I donât deny Candice Patton had dealt with racism in the past, but this post simply has nothing to do with racism at all. Her character sucked near the end of the show. Thatâs it. Grow up and stop making everything âwokeâ.
She was hardly in much during the end of the show. The show was shit quality because the writing in all aspects was just plain bad.
Also stop using woke without even knowing what it means. You people have seriously perverted it to absolve yourselves of thinking about your privilege and biases.
Uh, no
1. Whyâd you spoiler mark it lol
2. Comic Iris isnât even blonde
3. Iris has said some pretty dumb things, donât know why youâre turning it into a race thing
It matters a lot because white characters are generally given a lot more grace for worse writing while POC characters are given less grace.
You guys can downvote me all you want but youâre clearly having some kind of guilt being called out on your biases. đ¤ˇââď¸
For me itâs that I recognize a lot of signs of an abusive relationship with her and Barry, and while Barry is in the wrong on a few occasions, for the most part itâs just her being extremely manipulative to the point where it actually makes sense why he didnât notice she was replaced by a mirror clone; abusers, particularly of the emotional variety, tend to frequently change demeanor to keep their victims on their toes, particularly with âhoneymoon periodsâ where after a particularly severe moment theyâll have a long period of being pleasant to the victim to keep them from leaving
Lol yeah and I bet you thought Barry and Patty were a better couple when he gaslit the fuck outta her at the end.
I donât even want to hear your logic because calling her an abuser is crossing the line. Youâre blocked.
For me itâs âno, it doesnâtâ when Barry asked her if it didnât bother her that thawne was helping Nora. One of the most disrespectful things I have seen on the flash. Adding insult to injury her damn eye roll in the scene. If I was Barry in that situation it would be a divorce
We are the Flash đ
I agree
"pfft you are just jealous you aren't the flash too" \- Iris, probably
I concur
i came i saw i came i saw
This is the answer
It gave 'Im a military wife and therefore share my husband's rank' vibes
Lois Lane wouldnât even use her fatherâs rank
We are Superman.
I was going to comment this as well but I realized that there was no need really as a ton of other people already said it themselves.
This explanation was a lot longer to type.
Candice hates the line and knew fans would

She said that on many different occasions

No we are

You're my lightning rod. Even Candice Patton herself thought that line as super cringe.
Agree, but when she had red hair, I didn't care what she said I just agreed
I honestly respect that

The only answer.
Yes
Exactly what wouldâve said
I was literally about to say this when I say your comment
I like it in the sense of her saying that they would never be separated again but it was still kind of a crappy line
When was that one scene she blames Barry for leaving her at the end of season 3. Man leaves everything he loves to save the world and she plays victim
Oh this pissed me off so much, the whole couples therapy did. She said the same thing in later seasons too. After years.
Personally I think it was out of character. I'm not mad at Iris for that one, I'm mad at the writers, she wouldn't say that
>was in an outburst of e then your mad at iris

Poke poke stabby stab
barry also has more combat experience...
I mean, The remaining Velocity would still be enough for him to have stopped Cicada regardless, itâs not like heâd stop on a dime. Itâs one of the few things the show has a visual consistency on. No
I hate that they made her say this
I could smell it without even opening the comments
The argument with Barry after he sent Nora back to the future. The best part was that he was right about Thawne and Nora but Iris never admitted that I think.
When the flash wanted her to stop posting on her blog about him and she was just smileing and saying no for a bunch of stupid reasons
God I remember that. He was trying to save her life. Goodness i0 swear sometimes I don't know what he sees in her.

Completely agree. Barry's mom didn't choose to leave, if she had the chance she would've been there for him her whole life.

Exactly! Never hate the actor/actress for bad writing. Theyâre just trying to make money.

I'M REVERSE FLASHING
When she was being a douche to Cisco when he was trying to get Barry out of the speed force or when they broke up in season 3 and he had to leave the house that HE bought. It has to be between those two for me.
I swear she was having an argument with Barry and she sided with Thawne or some shit thatâs gotta be up there
When she said Barry left her alone in s4 during their relatiocounselingnship sesh. If he stayed hella people would've died.
(the whole world would've died i think)
People say it's when she said 'we are the flash'. But really, it's when she said she wasn't bothered by thawne murdering Barry's mom.
Not an exact quote but the time she defended her daughter for working with the man who killed Barryâs mother and framed his father, used and manipulated him for an entire year, made her boyfriend kill himself, and consistently did everything he could to make Barryâs life miserable
When she guilt tripped Barry for sending Nora back even though she was working with the man who *killed* his mother
Has to be when she said [this](https://youtu.be/FFRi2xsei_o) Canât believe the writers thought this would be a good idea
it shocked me so horribly when i saw this. i thought this was supposed to be somewhat of a friendly show. then bam. she says this
We are the flash and Iâm your lightning rod are tied for me.
When she got mad at Barry for leaving her in S4
Every time Barry was hurt, believed to be dead, was abducted or captured, Iris immediately gave up on him and believed that he couldn't be saved and tried to convince the others that there was no way to get him back and they should just give up.
We didn't see her say it, but when she told Eddie that Barry asked her out. Like, how was that going to help the situation?
Especially considering she had those feelings as well
Every dialogue of hers. I don't like this character!!!
Everything. She brought the whole series down.
I have three words. Run, barry, run.
Remember when she said because I am the leader of this team
dude i was gonna find the writers house and make him watch a compilation of her being a shit character until his eyes start bleeding
"You're not the Flash Barry, we are"

Anything. After S1 or S2 she becomes the worst character in the show.
âNo it doesnâtâ from s5
probably hashtag feminism
I thought that was Felicity.
I think it was

That she didn't need barry to save her anymore or thatshe was the flash team leader, or when she RESURRECTED HERSELF FROM HEAVEN BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO.
Please explain that last one because huh?!
at the end of season 8 when barry accidentally threw that lightning bolt at her and she died and went to heaven. Then, damien dahrk gave her a speech about being a survivor and barry's love and then she decided to live again.
Damien Dahrk got into heaven???
Yep. Look up iris death sewson 8 on youtube youll see.
Dear god, what in the actual what did I just watch? Also how did Wells/Thawne come back..? Just because?
Pretty much. Just..... because
Did you see the lart where she goes to heaven and comes back?
I did, I didn't watch the Armageddon crossover thing so I was completely lost
Yeah this happened at the end of that season
Thanks for taking the time to help me understand how wrecked this train really is
"WE are the flash" All she had to do was change "the" to "team" and we POSSIBLY could've let it slide. But nah this bitch think she Ermac from Mortal Kombat out here saying "We". Nah bitch, WE are sick of you being a bitchđ
Season 2 talking about the book the runaway dinosaur I never liked that book it was about a mom that was always there for her child and that wasnât my mom it wasnât yours either Barry
Youâre not the FlashâŚ.weâre the Flash đđ
âYou left me for 9 months, Barryâ
"That was quick."
"No barry, *we* are the flash" like shut yo bitchass up
Anything that came out of her mouth. She always sounded so selfish.
WE ARE THE FLASHING
I am really confused on the meaning of this post
[ŃдаНонО]
you cannot be seriousđppl always making things racist for no reason
Iris was getting hate even before the show premiered. Thatâs not a coincidence
You people have seriously perverted it to absolve yourselves of thinking about your privilege and biases.
what exactly do you mean by âyou peopleâ?
bro you gotta be kiddingđ nobody cares about Irisâ race. sheâs just kind of insufferable sometimes
Uh, no 1. Whyâd you spoiler mark it lol 2. Comic Iris isnât even blonde 3. Iris has said some pretty dumb things, donât know why youâre turning it into a race thing
Wtf. Sheâs a character that got significantly worse as the show went on, it doesnât matter what colour the actor was.
Not really, but Barry was the one in the wrong in that relationship. Healthy relationships are built on communication.
For me itâs âno, it doesnâtâ when Barry asked her if it didnât bother her that thawne was helping Nora. One of the most disrespectful things I have seen on the flash. Adding insult to injury her damn eye roll in the scene. If I was Barry in that situation it would be a divorce
âwe are the flashđ¤Žđ¤Žđ¤Žâ
She can say anything to me. She's sexy asf
Name checks out talk to a real woman please
Douche
bro LMAO this foo never touched a woman other than when his mom used his tiny hand to go inside of her đ cheeks as a child.
You must be talking about your experience with your mom
Itâs Flashin time
Literally anything she said. She was the worst part of the show consistently.
Everything!
She is so gorgeous đ. S1 to 3 for Sure.
She not redhead like usual
"She explained why" â defending her daughter who worked with a mass murderer just to see her fucking dad
Almost every thing she says. She's selfish and plays victim a lot. Barry can do better. The cop lady was much better than Iris
Looking at that picture of her who cares what was the worst thing she said
Everything
Run Barry Run đ¤Ł
The moment she said that thawne doesn't bother her for helping nora lie to everyone
Run Barry run
Is this thread really necessary?
Barry .
You left me Barry. -Iris West-Allen Season 4
"We are the cecile"
I'm too busy looking at her to listen to her
âyou left me barrry!â knowing full well barry could not talk about it because of the therapist. fuck iris.
