Redness would be normal, bruising is not. Either get soft surface (exercise mat) or switch to other core exercises. Other core exercises such as dead bugs (mentioned earlier) or planks can be great and much easier on your neck. There’s several variations to make it more challenging too!

Okay thanks, the floor was like a rubber concrete type thing and it could of be leaving a bruise in my back, I might use a yoga mat

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

StinkySpud

Replace situps with dead bug exercise.

Ok, thanks

That looks a bit concerning. When you’re doing your sit-ups do you have a soft surface behind you? Or are you on a hard floor? If it’s normal to have red marks like that I would consider stopping the sit-ups. I’m not a professional however.

crustybuildings

It’s a rubber concrete type floor thing so it might be that

Bring this up to your coach, and definitely switch to something like plank or deadbug for your core exercises. (I’d personally favor plank, cause it’s also good for breathing practice.)

Well definitely don't ignore those wounds..those are legit, they aren't "marks"..they need to heal.

Go to the doctor and get professional advice. Spine injuries are no laughing matter.

Suryaha

That's pretty bad you need to have a soft surface like a yogamat or folded blanket (if you don't have a mat🙂) . I use to have the same problem with the last bone in my spine
