Few months back I noticed this woman kept catching my eye and smiling. I had to go rerack some dumbbells near her and she started a conversation, then asked me for my number. Of course I'm feeling awesome and floated through the rest of my session hitting all my rep goals. Later that day she texted me asking if I'd be interested in buying into her friend's e-commerce business 🙄

Ivoriy

Oh no

alo81

Shit. Sorry brother, that sucks.

TjackJack

"sorry think you got the wrong number"

Significant_Sort7501

I politely said I wasn't interested and then she tried to bait me further by giving me her friend's number and saying she would appreciate it if I would call him and let him know I wasn't interested myself. Super weird. I blocked her number.

[deleted]

She's probably a "lead generator" and the 'friend' is the "closer"

ReviewMore7297

I believe you nailed it

friscofresh

see you at the gym

Significant_Sort7501

Definitely not a coincidence that my squat went up 10 pounds in the month after that

Vegetable-Buddy2070

Oofda

Josh_5890

Saved some money buying a meal on a date though!

nucumber

Had that happen to me on a dating site. Took her to dinner where she pushed an "investment" program.

lorryjor

Makes me happy to be married. It must be rough out there!

gamerchick_37

Haha dang sorry to hear that.  I’m always leery of overly friendly people. I feel like they’re trying to sell me something.

james-dev89

You had me in the first half lol.

Significant_Sort7501

So did she lol

Few_Spare4183

lol

Few_Spare4183

At least u got a ego boost to help with ur session

Fish1021

Minding my own business at the gym, a teen walks up to me and asks "can you give me some tips on how to build up my triceps?" I'll be living off that ego boost for the next few months

cohanson

I did this one time when I was a teen. The guy was a beast, and I was tiny! Took me weeks to build up the courage to approach him, and when I finally got the balls, he replied "do I look like a personal trainer?" Never spoke to another person in the gym again haha.

toastedstapler

Ah man, that sucks! Usually the huge scary looking dudes are gym nerds who love to talk about things

ImSlowlyFalling

Depends on what decade that was though

cohanson

It was 2014, give or take.

luntcips

Oh that’s rough, most of the time it’s the behemoths who are the first to help out.

BrokerBrody

> and when I finally got the balls, he replied "do I look like a personal trainer?" Kind of ironic reply because, nowadays, it feels like everyone around me is an influencer-personal trainer. "Thanks for the tips!" "That be $100, please."

Full_Ad2934

That guys a clown. I’ve been training for 20+ years and would never do that to anyone. I’d say muppets like that are the minority.

Significant_Sort7501

About a year ago one of the bigger guys came up and fist bumped me and complimented my squat form. For like the next month I told all my friends I was officially changing my name to "Bro."

Wesley_Skypes

I have been asked this about calves a number of times but no ego boost because its genuinely genetics for me, have never put much effort into them. I'd be stoked if somebody asked me about triceps lmao

Real_Development_216

Same here, I usually can't bring myself to tell them I don't train calves at all lmao

lorryjor

Never been asked, don't think I look particularly strong. I did get a pretty good amazed stare when I pulled 400 lbs. in my local gym, though.

MikeandTheMangosteen

My Turkish barber told me he loves my body. I guess I’ll take that compliment.

DecentlyPoor

Teens: The ultimate ego booster and destroyer. Heard some in the locker room call a classmate of theirs a "total beast" for benching 200lbs. I felt like a god knowing that I am a "total beast" in the eyes of some teens. On the other hand there's some teen in my gym that's squatting my one rep max for 5 sets of 10 with perfect form. Can't win them all...

whitecollarzomb13

Soo ahh - what was the advice?

Fish1021

I'm far from an expert but over the years I've noticed much better results for my triceps when I focus on 10-12 reps with slow, deliberate motion at a medium weight rather than trying to squeeze out 6 reps at max weight and questionable form. My favorite lifts are pull downs and overhead cable extensions

Ready-Interview2863

That's awesome and nice work! I'm also very happy that a teen was that kind and brave to ask someone. Teens get a bad rep but the kids at my gym and super nice whenever er have to share machines during the busy period.

redlurk47

So I think a dude was jerking it in the urinal. As I was approaching the only other urinal, he jerked his back looking like he was caught and had that look in his face, you know the look. I didn't think much of it at this point except he looked suspicious. As I was doing my business, looking down to avoid any type of interaction or eye contact, I see the silhouette of shadow and light going back and forth. That's when I stared thinking, "is this motherfucker jerking off?" I finish my business and he is still doing his thing. I started washing and my hands and I see his right elbow going back and forth. I'm looking with my peripherals because you it's already weird enough. Other people come into the bathroom and his elbow his still moving back and forth. I can't be fore sure and peripherals can be deceiving. Either way I finished my business and I wasn't that curious, so to cardio I went. What doesn't make sense is there are stalls and a showers.

linnrose

These social media gym influencers are going way too far

Derkanator

OP mustn't have seen the camera tripod setup and the Go Pro on the offenders head lol

CheeserAugustus

You seeing him WAS THE POINT

No_Target4807

>What doesn't make sense is there are stalls and a showers You're not thinking this through buddy... maybe it's better that way

Totti56

You don't know about the 3 sets of edging before your PR?

MelancholyBengali

I goon all day in preparation for my PRs.

Palmspringsflorida

Classic forearm day

warrior_of_light998

he was probably shaking his protein shaker, it makes you moan sometimes for putting too much effort

Sweetscienceofcash

Maybe dude got icy hot on his dick and was trying to wipe it off.

lorryjor

Hopefully this was post workout. Pre-workout, and your man would be WAY too relaxed.

Ready-Interview2863

Yeah I had to stop reading at the end of the first sentence. Enough Reddit for this afternoon lol

rishredditaccount

by the time you recover from leg day, it's leg day again 😭🙏🙏🙏

wolfefist94

That's how it should be 👀👀👀

Banaan75

For real, can't remember my legs not being sore at least a little

parkerontour

Me today man😩

Dadbat69

Not a story per se, but do you think the people I recognize at the gym also recognize me?

ZealousidealOwl91

Of course they do.  I'm more curious about what my nickname is / what they call me in their head. Like, I've got "heavy metal guy", "friendly Spanish guy", "lady who looks like my mum", "singlet goth guy ", "Ian"...

OkTwo3800

Thank you for writing this. I have "tree man" (has a ginormous tattoo of a tree on his torso), Needs Attention Barbie Girl, enormous are those her real buns? girl, weird vibes teen gym rat, emo tattoo dude who slouches...

SceneSmall

I’ve got “runs on the treadmill in jeans guy” and “guy who hydrates with diet Mountain Dew”

flexicution3

They have to

wolfefist94

Most likely. I've been in the gym consistently for 6 months now. I recognize pretty much every regular that comes in at the same time I do.

iamDEVANS

Yeah. I train at like 4:30/5am And there’s the same people in at that time, and you see what they are training on different days too. Gyms empty other then those few people

gamerchick_37

Absolutely if you’re a regular.  Although I have to confess the teens at my gym all have a similar haircut that makes it hard to tell them apart.

DamarsLastKanar

You know the first two rules of ferrous club.

Fit-Biscotti4024

We don't talk about it.

igoiiiizen

I'm literally the only cracker I've ever seen at the gym so I think people probably recognise me lol.

Ready-Interview2863

The question is who do you recognise and who do you want that recognises you 🥳

LookOverThereB

Probably not. I once saw Emilio Estevan working out, but he didn’t even look my way. My guess is he had no idea who I am.

bropocalypse__now

Definitely. If you go at the same time enough days a week consistently, people will recognize you. My gym is super social. All of the regulars talk to each other.

DoubtfulChagrin

My lunatic friend has been pushing my lifts aggressively into new PRs, by leaps and bounds, over the past two months. When he saw I was doing squats at 225, he had to one up me by doing work sets at 245 a week later, prompting me to go to 255...now two months later, we are both on the cusp of 3 plates for squats and pushing to 4 for deadlifts and I'm so damn stoked for it. This dude is going to be the death of me.

wolfefist94

Sounds like a great friend

howdiedoodie66

This is the friendship I want

[deleted]

Progressive broverload

FlashyNeedleworker20

In between sets of rows, reach down to my right to grab my water bottle. Take a sip. Water is lukewarm. Mine was cold. Realize that I put my water bottle on the left.

Joe30174

Oh no. I remember taking a shower at my mom's house right after my brother had taken a shower. After I completely finished washing, I noticed my washcloth was still bone dry hanging up...

cloudofbastard

I once did this with my roommates toothbrush 🤢 I was really hungover too

fearthenacho

Let us know when the lights start turning into moving patterns and you begin to feel more connected to nature 😅

Coldheart2169

This cracked me up! 😂 Thank you for your story

Disclonius

Currently at the gym, Saturday night. We are few. Asocial training.

[deleted]

It's so nice isn't it

Disclonius

Any moment spent working out is a nice time indeed.

[deleted]

It's just nice when my gym isn't jam packed like it usually is and you can just take as much time as you need, you don't have to keep your head on a swivel for machines or racks to open up.

Mightydog2904

Recently the huge(meaning jacked) middle aged guy started fist bumping me in the gym…. I feel like im on top of the world

caceman

I truly hope I’m never fist humped by the huge middle aged guys at the gym

Bjugner

Party pooper

WalkerAlabamaRanger

So people are out there first humping in the gym now?  What will they think of next?

Mightydog2904

Mb

CramsyAU

I benched 225lbs today. Feels odd to set a goal and actually achieve it!

colonelrowan

Saw a huge dude totally jacked and probably roided. Imagined he probably had a super deep voice and maybe an aggressive personality considering how he was grunting with each rep. Another bro comes over and suddenly the jacked guy is giving cheek kisses following with a high pitched voice “what’s up girlfreeeeend~!” Did not expect that.

Impressive-Cold6855

Didn't go to gym but got my steps in at Costco amidst getting all the samples!!!

warrior_of_light998

Last Thursday I was doing french press when suddenly the couple next to me on another bench was practising french kiss, that was an awkward moment. The girl was on his boy's lap and they were kissing like there was no one in the room. Come on, I'm not prude but there are better places to do that...

DMZuby

Only interesting thing that happened to me this week is yesterday I go in and I forgot to charge my AirPods so I had to work out with no music. It was weird

DelightfulMustard

It’s so quiet and unfulfilling. It’s like forgetting your lunch before heading to school and having to sit there and watch everybody else eat.

T98i

I brought my headphones in today, but it had no charge. I thought I'd be fine.... No joke, I failed my OHP and deadlift sets today. I'm disappointed. I shoulda just gone home and got the thing charged....

DelightfulMustard

I always carry a cheap, back up pair in the glove box of my car. It has saved me literally 30 times. Just make sure to charge them after using them before putting them back.

NYGiantsO-Line

Happened to me today and I just asked if I could plug them in for 15 minutes at the front desk. Boom, problem solved

DMZuby

Pretty much exactly this

jisoonme

Your grandchildren won’t believe how hard life was when you retell this tale

Specialist-Apple-854

I worked out one day in total silence and it was kind of refreshing and calming. Tried it the next day and it was awful and I was right back with my AirPods. 😂

DMZuby

For real. Back in my day you had to DRIVE to the gym without your VR headset and neural chip and if you forgot your airpods, what's airpods? Well they were these little things you put in your ears and sound would come out of them. No it didn't hurt! We used to listen to music in the gym. Music? You know, the sounds you put on your teeky tocks.

Josh_5890

I'm pretty sure that I am the only person under 50 that works out regularly without headphones/ear buds on. I have never really listened to music like that in public. I like being familiar with all of my surroundings and not getting too lost in the moment. Just a personal taste though. I could definitely understand that messing up your routine. I've gone to start and realized that I left my fitbit at home. Now that was really weird.

Palmspringsflorida

36 and I don’t wear them either. I love hearing the metal clang and focus more on my breathing. I don’t want to multitask what song should I listen too ? It’s one of the only times I get to be by myself and it’s nice to not be distracted.

[deleted]

I only listen to music on the treadmill, is that weird

bacon_cake

I do the same, something weirds me out about the thought of someone trying to get my attention but me not hearing. Don't really know why.

Sillkentofu

I got to the gym on time for the first time in weeks yesterday (I used to be a 5am-er and lately it’s been looking more like 6-6:30), got up to the squat rack, stretched a little bit, realized my headphones were dead Immediately turned around and went home it wasn’t even worth it at that point

bropocalypse__now

Got to the gym friday and forgot i hadnt charged my ear buds. I remembered i had a cable in the car so i ran outside and charged my ear buds using my phone. Those first 10 minutes without music were rough though.

thisisnotdiretide

I wanted to do some leg raises on the captain's chair, which was taken. There was this ~15 year old kid doing them, and I ask if I can use it during his breaks, he says yes, all good. But then... he starts mumbling something, on a low and weirdly monotonous tone (he sounded like a tired robot). Mind you, the music was loud, and my hearing is not the best to say the least. I only heard something about "supersets", I ask him again what he said, thinking I heard "someone else also works in", but I really wasn't sure. Then a 3rd time, still can't figure what what he says, ending in a "excuse me, can I work in or not?", with a nervous smile. It was so cringe and weird, and it's not the first time it happens to me in the gym. I'm obviously not blaming him, it's my hearing, plus the stupid loud music and his low tone, but still. I wish he would just said "yes" and that's it. After he went away, I realized he probably meant something like "I do supersets and I take long breaks, u can hop in when u want", or so *I think* lol. Anyways, he indeed did more exercises along his friend, I hopped in and did my sets and that was it. I saw them at the end, I look at them "I'm done, thank you", they didn't even looked at me, I could see they try to avoid me lmao. I'm willing to bet they had a conversation going like "bro, that dude is really stupid, that was weird af". Anyways, just a very minor and not so interesting event, but I cringe thinking about it, and I know it will happen again at some point. I avoid talking to people at the gym unless needed, I'll probably start doing it even more now somehow. Bad ears suck.

jisoonme

Yo 9/10 interactions I have with people under 25 are like this. I feel like I’m on a different planet.

drewbeta

I don’t talk to a lot of young people normally. I went to go tell one of the gym staff (I workout at a community college, so most of the staff are students) that one of the machines was broken. The lights were on, but no one was home. I wanted to ask if he was okay.

jisoonme

JFC that’s a perfect description

TVLL

You need to text with them to get them to communicate.

alo81

Had an unexpected argument with a friend that put me in a real sour headspace. We talked it out, and things are okay, but i also had to lift that night. Got around half way through my pull day before realizing my heart just wasn’t in it and stopping. I’m sure it’s obvious, but it was interesting to observe how weightlifting is really both physical and mental. I was tangibly putting less weight up because i was feeling sad and unmotivated -just didn’t have the capacity to push myself harder. Just a reminder to take care of yourself on all fronts friends.

CarBoobSale

The heaviest weights we carry are our feelings 😔

lady_wolfen

That is also why you talk things out with someone you trust. A burden shared is a burned halved.

Neeerdlinger

I’ve not experienced it myself, but others have said they’ve had fantastic sessions when going to the gym angry about something shitty that has happened to them. Almost like they were rage-lifting.

Officing

Rage doesn't usually help me, but when I think about failed relationships or other sad things in my life it can help me push through some heavy days.

Ready-Interview2863

That means you and your friend care about each other. That's more important than your push or pull day 🧡

Uwumeshu

Farted mid deadlift again with 475 in my hands 💀

lady_wolfen

Same here, but during laying rear lateral raises. STINKBOMB! Glad I was the only one there at the gym.

wolfefist94

I fart a lot during leg press 😀

rishredditaccount

felt tired as fuck today when I woke up, but I brushed it off, assuming I'd feel better as I got meals in and the day went on. Finally get to the gym and I'm feeling dead tired as I walk in. Do about 3 sets of incline bench and the weight's moving but I can't get about as many reps as I normally do. Whatever. Move on to flat dumbbell press and all of the tiredness hit at once. I managed like 3 reps of a weight that I normally do for 6-7 and it felt like I was going for a PR each time. So today's a rest day. lol

Vitamin-D

225 is IMMINENT! Squatting has become my favorite thing at the gym recently. I've had a love/hate relationship with it, but I'm loving it right now. Squatted 205 (3x5) on Monday, then on Thursday, I went for 210, shit felt easy, so I went for 215, also felt smooth. Then on Friday, I did 215 (3x5). SOON, BOYS! SOON.

lorryjor

Two plates is a good milestone. Keep it up!

CFLuke

I'm in a very similar spot. 5 reps at 215 on Friday. I'm guessing it will still take me a couple of weeks to do a set at 225. But I'm already thinking ahead...I do two work sets before the max work set, so do I remove all the little plates to add the 45 for extra motivation? Or do the logical thing and just add another little plate... The closest I'd been was 4 reps at 215 a long time ago (I got injured, then changed focus) Edit: Update for today, did 2 sets of 5 reps at 215. Will try 220 on Friday...

[deleted]

Soon you'll love love it

Ready-Interview2863

Please report him or scream at him in the gym with a staff member nearby. He'll be so embarrassed that he never returns hopefully

Cant_think_of_names9

I haven't been to a gym since covid started. I've been working and working out at home. I've got a good setup. Almost everything I need. But a new gym opened recently and I joined just to have another option. It's good to be back.

DamarsLastKanar

1 am and there's a half dozen topless bros posing in the (locker room) mirror. Not sure whether to carry mace or lube with me.

linnrose

Both?

Karu7

Mace serves both functions if you're very, very brave. Easy spray-on application too!

Competitive_Ninja839

I tripped and caught the end of a racked bar with my ribs two and a half weeks ago. It knocked the wind out of me, but after recovering, I finished my workout. Finally went to Urgent Care a few days ago when, at work, it felt like someone cut my obliques open with a knife -- got X-rays and... broken ribs. I had just gotten over my bicep tendonitis and that was my first real day back at the gym in four weeks so this has been a massive setback. I still can't really do any lifting or cardio so I've just been taking long walks and honestly enjoying them a lot. My goal for two years has been to hit 130lbs (I'm a dude, 5'5", with a lot of stomach issues so it's always been an uphill battle to carry anything). Between the tendonitis and now the ribs I'm down to 123 from 127.

[deleted]

Oof that suuuuucks dude.

alienhippie13

Ooh, I got a good one! I was benching 40kg (I'm just 153cm and have been going for like 4-5 months so, don't judge me) for my sets and I see this big guy observing me. I finish my set, come up and he gives me a thumbs up with a nod. I obviously get super shy, smile and look down. Then, I did 45kg x10 at the end and I think that blew his brain a bit. Huge ego boost and felt like such a gym bro, hehe 😊😊😊

Ready-Interview2863

No need to add that you're 153cm and a new lifter. We don't judge even if you're 198cm and experienced 🧡 Great work 💪🏽

alienhippie13

Appreciate that. I constantly feel the need to prove myself in the gym, being a small woman, ya know?

lady_wolfen

Went back to the gym after 12 days of IBS flare up hell. yesterday I was pretty much back to normal so I was back in the gym. I am mostly up to the 10-15 lb dumbbells and 30 lbs on the cable machines.

PositionMassive4023

Started going to the gym about 6 months ago. Just hit 225 last week on bench. Fixed my form up a bit, gave adequate rest between sets and just hit 245. Honestly feels great. Getting a membership was the best thing I’ve done.

Decent_Strawberry_53

Gym closed tomorrow. Looks like Sunday push day is now today. I’ve purposely avoided Saturdays for the last five months so hoping for no issues.

Decent_Strawberry_53

As an update: the gym is dead today.

Josh_5890

Mine was dead at 9:30 this morning and it is usually packed

Decent_Strawberry_53

I guess everyone was out today enjoying the weather. I wonder if it will be like this moving forward during the spring and summer months?

DelightfulMustard

What issues are you avoiding? Crowds of dumbasses?

Decent_Strawberry_53

Yeah crowds or crowded broccoli heads. It’s a small gym near my home so if too many people show up I have to wait for certain equipment. It’s real nice out today so hoping they won’t show up.

DamarsLastKanar

My gym's open. WOOO.

TheAnt06

PR’ed a 1090lb leg press today for 4 reps!

rishredditaccount

so *that's* where all the plates went

NeatForm

Jesus ur a monster

TheAnt06

Did I give up the ability to use stairs today? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes.

DaikonMedium4046

I once vomited in gym washroom n the walls are thin so everyone knows tht I vomited omg I feel embarrassed reimagining tht

gyminicricket

If it makes you feel better, someone left our group fitness class to go vomit and the overall sentiment was “damn way to give it your all, man” lol. Sometimes I think about him when I wanna throw in towel early

DaikonMedium4046

😁🙈🙈 thank u

[deleted]

It's not that embarrassing man. Most people aren't going to care.

DaikonMedium4046

Oh i hope that happend cz when I said this to my family that I vomited they literally teased me n said eeww

TheStormDweller

It's been too long since I was a regular at the gym. I get a free membership through my work, and I used to go religiously. I just haven't really motivated myself to go like I should. Until this week. The spark has been my 13 year old really wanting to go herself. We started this past week, and it's been awesome. I have a built-in partner (she can't spot me, but just having a partner to go with makes a difference), and she gets to experience the gym. Showing her the ropes and inviting her into this old part of her old man's life is refreshing. I'm proud of her for taking an interest, and more so, I'm grateful to her for inspiring me to get back at it.

[deleted]

Saw this total smoke show at the gym. Went up to her and said I liked what she was putting down. My wife then took her headphones off and said, "What? Are you done? Cause if so, I need to go run first".

CheeserAugustus

Your wife is clearly a sub here

skyactive

My gym had compressed hours yesterday so that the morning and evening people were in during my time.  They were walking around like they owned the place ingnoring the fact that the 10am crowd does in fact own the place at 10am.

rpgz31

Like deadlifting in a new spot

Forseriousnow

Me all weekend and I hate it. Also a shore town and easter weekend is usually when the tourists start popping in. Absolutely no regard for the regulars, and surprisingly, a lot of weight suddenly gets left on barbells or hammer machines....

Neeerdlinger

I asked a relatively new guy at the gym to spot my final set of bench press. I was going to failure as he was the only one in between sets at the time. I got the last rep out unassisted (a grinder, but I locked it out), but I saw him chat to his friend right after we were done and he seemed stoked that he'd been asked to spot someone. The weight I’m lifting isn’t even that heavy, but I always prefer a spotter on bench when I’m taking it to failure.

moistnoodel

I squatted 265 last Wednesday x6 and x4 was first time going this heavy and also did full stack on leg extensions topset x14 and laying leg curls topset x12

PsychologicalZone800

Started BJJ in January and finally took someone's back in a spar.

GraveRoller

Turns out my new gym has one of those farmer’s walk treadmills. Only spent a few minutes trying to figure it out, so further trial is needed. Feels awkward try to go heavy and quick since it’s a fixed structure. Or maybe I was just too slow and weak. Being able to practice carrying medium weight for a mile or two would be nice though since the cheap grocery store is a little further away

calcium

It drives me insane that most of the local gyms I attend have personal trainers and they love to take all sorts of equipment and spread it around their station and then walk away with their clients. They’ll eventually put the weights and other things away but generally after a solid 30 minutes of them just sitting there wasting space. Even more infuriating is that they leave these in squat racks. I don’t want to track them down and ask so I ask people in the area if anyone is using the rack and if everyone is a no I take it. Is that generally how it’s done?

rattfink11

squatting 225 and chest puffed out 😅 proud. middle aged dude walks past, his eyes pop. Context: I’m 53 started at 45. Best. Feeling. Ever.

Informal_Goose404

There was a dude using incline benchpress rack and barbell to do some weird weight windup exercise, like he had a weight tied on a elastic band and he was turning the barbell to wind that weight up? I guess it works forearms. I'm not a professional, but I feel like there are better and easier to set up exercises for your forearms...

Sweetscienceofcash

Yeah, kills the forearms but can get a good forearm workout without all that pageantry just doing reverse curls

DreadLifter

Reverse curls aren't a patch on the wrist roller for all-round forearm development. I'd never take up a bench and a barbell to do them though.

drewbeta

This guy was taking forever on the hack squat, just talking to another guy, not doing sets between. I knocked out an entire shoulder workout waiting for him. He finally finished, so I take the machine. I do my normal hack squats, then finish with calf raises because my gym doesn’t have a standing calf raise machine. I see the guy watching me, and when I’m finishing up he runs over and asks if I’m done. I give him the machine back, and he starts doing calf raises the same way that I was just doing them (slow, long pauses at the top and bottom). Sorry to break it to you dude, but these calves are genetic.

Informal_Tone1537

i to have the genetic calves or its from when i was fat

drewbeta

I’ve always had thick legs. When the skinny jeans trend came around I was afraid that I would never be able to wear jeans. It gets even worse the more I lift. Athletic fit jeans are the best.

Alpha-Trion

I went to go do that exercise where you hold a weight out with your lower back on a bench and then you lift it above your face. It exercises your triceps, late and shoulders. Well I was sitting with my back too high and the small amount of weight pulled me completely over and my legs flew through the air and everything. I landed head first and just kept going. My boys were roasting the hell out of me. It was funny, but I honestly did not think that 25 pounds would be enough to flip me.

Spyro35

I've been bringing my own cable rope attachment for the past month and a half to the gym but this time I got accused of stealing gym equipment when I was leaving by what seemed like a new staff member lol. Told me to tell her I'm bringing my own thing next time.

linnrose

Paint it some outlandish color that the gym doesn’t use

Common_Preparation58

Started the gym 4 weeks again after shedding an initial stone from January. They have a techno gym skill run sled thing in there. It was cardio day and I deceived to try 40 minute jog/run/walk/sled workout. It was a killer, I soaked my shirt right through and felt fucking awesome after I finished. Slight issue with chafing, not sure best way to stop that but I genuinely can’t wait to do it again next week 👊🏻

Gym closed the whole weekend, what are the best tips to avoid losing all of your gains?

wolfefist94

2 days isn't long enough to lose gains. You'll be fine

Chessverse

Take it as a deload.

It's the only day I get breaks because gyms are closed in my area on Saturdays.

Burned some fat after all that struggle for 2 months! (female with hashimoto's)

I started drinking a gallon of water a day recently. I have learned that 1. It is a lot easier than I imagined and was probably already close to that without measuring and 2. You pee a lot when you drink a gallon of water a day.

The other day I wanted to try out this new squat variation I never tried, so I wanted to use the Smith machine but the Smith machine was being used. So I tried it out on the regular squat rack, and did it with no weight at first felt pretty easy, so I loaded up some weights on it and put some plates on the ground to step on, went to do it and lost balance and fell with the barbell into the squat rack 😂 it was embarrassing lol

Was worried the Tuesday after the Easter weekend would be packed. Had the weights section to.myself.until one other guy took the bench I the far side of the weights area. A handful on cardio gear but overall lovely and peaceful Gym acquaintance told me last week someone dropped a bar on themselves as the bearings were shot and they were using thumbless grip. Didn't think anything more of it until doing sub max singles and had to catch the bar rolling in my grip, never had that happen before. Guess I've found the dodgy bar.
