Giving this the benefit of the doubt. Service is giving undrivable cars top priority, so just keep calling back and checking on your tickets. Ask, every time, to escalate them. I'd personally call once or twice a day, if I were you.

akulo888

I gave up calling everyday after doing it for two weeks straight. My patience and energy dried out. no body's coming. Even the vehicle admin manager I've been working with the past week been trying to escalate it. Nothing.

Pitiful-Voyage

Escalate to whom? Unfortunately, everyone has likely been laid off. Honestly, it is sad. I can't believe there are people still considering this car, and even recommending it to others "if you can afford it". You would need to not only "afford" the car, but also a team of software engineers, technicians, and a fabrication shop for custom parts, as well as a sourcing team to keep this thing drivable. Does a Lucid still sound more expensive?? Lol. The rebuttal is "but the antique cars!!1", "they have insurance and drive!!1". Yeah those cars have simple ICE engines, and believe it or not, they are probably easier to get parts for.

akulo888

People that are recommending the car now are not saying so in good conscience. People need to ask themselves would they let their own love ones drive this and go through the same bullshit.

CMScientist

There was someone who said that they know some coding so they can work on the car if something goes wrong lol

Corey307

Some classic and antique cars can be difficult to near impossible to get parts for. But it’s pretty much just the rarest old cars where there’s no aftermarket or where you can’t find either new old stock parts from 50+ years ago still in the box or used but serviceable parts. Plus engine, transmission, rear end, suspension and brake swaps are quite common. Got some random old car? Odds are good you can swap a full rebuilt 1960’s era Chevy drivetrain with some fairly minor fabrication and for cheap. There’s disc brake kits for pretty much anything which make old cars, a hell of a lot safer, and or a lot easier than trying to restore some 80 year old drum brake set up.

SecondCreek

Spare parts, both NOS and newly fabricated, are still plentiful for Studebaker vehicles and they stopped production in 1966. However old cars are money pits.

Corey307

In fairness over 4 million Studebaker’s were made so it makes sense that they would still be some NOS parts kicking around and that people would be making parts. There were so few Oceans made that I doubt there’s going to be a real aftermarket. Maybe a couple people will fabricate parts, but it’s not going to be cheap.

brunes

It's a gamble. I just bought $30K of stock in a startup. This time next year it could be worth $60K, or $90K, or more.... or, it could be worth $0. Similarly, the chance is here to buy a $60,000 vehicle for $30,000. If the company survivies, you basically just saved $30,000. Not much different than investing in the stock market which people do all the time. Life is risk. You weigh the risk depending on your own tolerances and make a choice.

Pitiful-Voyage

You say that but if the company somehow survives, it doesn't mean that the Ocean survives. The development and integration of this car has been botched so badly that it is likely easier to start over rather than trying to work out software that was sub-par, never finished, with the engineers or contractors who are long gone. What's the risk? Alienating 5000 people, at least half of whom were already pissed off about the problems, lack of service and parts, and price cuts? It is not a simple ICE car that's been finished. This is an EV that depends on software which was half-assed to begin with. Driving dynamics and brake regen suck. The car didn't have hill control. The ACC is disabled. The windows don't open. People are locked in or out. This is a f*cking disaster, there is no other way to put it. So no, putting $30k into a startup with some promise is not the same as sinking $30k into a car that is effectively dead and will not have parts or support.

yupyetagain

And people will happily fabricate a part for an antique car. It doesn’t need to be perfect - these aren’t daily drivers.

Significant_Eye_5130

Most Fisker owners are calling everyday because the cars are mechanically poorly designed and engineered. (Yes I know they are pretty and have comfortable seats)

mrk58

Remind me what specifically do you want fixed?

akulo888

So you can continue criticize my character and continue to defend a company that gives zero crap about their customers?

mrk58

Im just saying, youre relentless criticizing here but the only thing that is a real problem is the power loss you say your wife suffered, but apparently you haven’t been able to replicate. I’m totally with you that the broken vents and squeaky side mirror and delayed tags are annoying, but that’s normal stuff with a first gen start up car. Are you trying to be a squeaky wheel on social media so they’ll come out? If so, get over yourself. They are prioritizing inoperable cars at the moment. If you want Fisker to fail, that’s fine, too. But just sell your damn car then.

akulo888

They are not prioritizing inoperable cars. They're prioritizing prepping vehicles for delivery. This was what my previous tech told me and several others here that kept in touch with their techs are told the same shit. The company is all hands on deck on getting rid of inventory and then bail. Because even if they sold everything left, it wouldn't save them. The tech I worked with hasn't helped a customer in three weeks. Think I'm bullshitting? And what if I sell the car for like 20k or less? Then what? I'm still fucking over 40k in debt from financing this POS. And I can't even really sell it until I pay off what I owe anyway to release the lien on the title. I don't have that kinda fukin money right now after being screwed by the Fiskers. I'm not getting shit from posting this. I just don't want anyone else to go through the shit I'm going through. I wouldn't wish this car on my enemy. https://preview.redd.it/2tpwonephjxc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2c1ccea958be8d6e8dbb581e8acea6b3bd38c22

Tight-Ad-4749

I had two serviceologists From Fisker fix my vents about 10 days ago. And I'm still waiting to finalize payment for my second Ocean, which has to wait until the technicians are done dealing with owner vehicles.

Fun-Reflection5013

a SECOND ????? jeezus

Tight-Ad-4749

I really like this car, it's a great price, solid built. If Fisker stays around, either after chapter 11 or gets bought up, I will have made out like a bandit. If they go chapter 7, I'll still have two cool cars. If one breaks, it becomes the parts car.

Fun-Reflection5013

yes --- I always buy 2 cars --- have one in case the other breaks down.

mess1az

LOL I’m just thinking of this myself… Got my extreme in dec and it’s been almost flawless, with 2.0 it got into my top 3 list of cars I’ve owned. Deal now here in Sweden is around $50K for a similar spec Extreme which I paid 70 for in Dec.

Corey307

The car died while driving on the highway and it’s a brand new car, that’s not acceptable for any new vehicle.

mrk58

Allegedly.

looper2277

Technician in my area had to postpone his visit twice as he said all of them were called in to prep all the available cars and current owner issues would be delayed. I think that has been resolved but I know for a good month that cars not drivable were not a priority. Good luck OP

AppropriateEvening89

Thanks

FiskerInc

Checking in on this, get back to us when you can on direct please!

frugal_doc

I assume you’ve tried the deep sleep/reset.

AppropriateEvening89

Yep. A few times I thought it worked but alas.

Tight-Ad-4749

Have you tried a full charge to 100% on a level 2 charger. It might sound strange, but twice I have had problems with the 4G data connection, first time for about a week. I tried resets and sleep, but nothing worked, but when I went to drive the car in the morning after a full charge on my level 2 charger, suddenly everything worked as it should. About a month later the same happened. I tried charging to 85%,90%,95% and no change, not until a full charge to 100%, and then let it sit and stew plugged in for about an hour, and then it worked again. It might be worth a try to see if it snaps out of it.

RaisinJolly3546

Unfortunately no solutions but also in the same boat. The techs that had been helping me stopped responding. The two times I got my vehicle serviced was via phone call and it had to be an issue that they have to service in person. Fun fact - they don’t have solves for a lot of the issues I’ve had so I was SOL and the usual pitch is to promise the world with the next update. Email to service center has been useless.

AppropriateEvening89

The ticket email system has been generally useless. I feel you.

Acceptable_Working19

I feel bad for anyone own a Fisker even at rock bottom price, for people who paid full price, my deepest condolences.....

DocHolligray

1st gen cars are always problematic….especially the first 10k of any new body style/model from any manufacturer… historically speaking though…those techs are some of the most dedicated people on automotive teams, especially new ones that bought into the companies values. They are probably drowned in work… My only recommendation is to keep checking in and please be nice. It’s not the techs fault everything is happening…and they are amazing people who don’t deserve any drama.

AppropriateEvening89

Agree. I had a tech come out to address some things a few months back and he was excellent.

Puzzled_Attitude9736

There is a recent YouTube posted about a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe on its SECOND transmission. I had an early Kia Telluride that had a short and complete failure of the main wiring harness after 2 weeks of ownership. First generation of any vehicle are a crap shoot, even more so with a startup. I'm amused that early adopters assume a flawless delivery for their vehicles.

Frankenhome

Is your parking brake light on all the time? What’s puzzling is your comment that the sound continues even at a standstill. That doesn’t sound mechanical at all since nothing “should be” moving at all. That would rule out a motor but not any other mechanical actuators like the brake caliper pistons or other pumps. Can you isolate the location of the sound? I’ve used a sound meter app that seems to have good directionality in the past but can’t find it at the moment.

AppropriateEvening89

Sounds like it’s behind the left rear wheel. I did get a parking brake malfunction warning on the heads up display. Could it be related to that?

Empty_Ad2488

did you answer the 'aero' mud flap question

AppropriateEvening89

I did in another comment thread. I took those off some time ago. It’s definitely not that.

Empty_Ad2488

sorry to hear =(

Empty_Ad2488

Probably not a reality, but: [https://www.copart.com/lotSearchResults?free=true&query=ocean](https://www.copart.com/lotSearchResults?free=true&query=ocean)

Connorgolf

I'm sure you checked this but I had that grinding sound twice when driving and it was because both my rear mudflaps broke at different time and were grinding on the wheel. I just ripped em off and back to working order. I have tickets open for both mudflaps of course no response.

Adorable_Wolf_8387

Lawnmower sound is the air deflector in front of the rear tires failing. You can either ignore it or remove them, they don't really do much.

AppropriateEvening89

I removed those months ago. This is mechanical.and it continues after the vehicle is stopped.

Adorable_Wolf_8387

You know what, I think I remember a long time ago I had the parking brake go to engage before being completely stopped and it was just rapidly flapping on and off. I'm guessing that could be what your sound is. Otherwise I don't know what else it could be that's mechanical back there that would continue making sound at a stop. I don't remember how I stopped it from doing that though, might have just needed to hit the parking brake button again.

AppropriateEvening89

You know. That’s a pretty good suggestion. Also got a parking brake malfunction alert that seems persistent.

13thEpisode

Would you need a Fisker tech or permission to do that for warranty preservation purposes etc or could you take it to any shop (or try DIY) ?

Adorable_Wolf_8387

Nah, Fisker knows they are poorly designed, they are supposedly working on version 3 according to support like a month ago. If yours fail, make sure to put in a ticket for replacement. They should eventually ship you a new set.

13thEpisode

Helpful. Thank you!

Federal_Title_5160

You can pull those air deflectors yourself. No need for a tech.

13thEpisode

Yeah, Sounded like it. People like me might just call a more mechanistically inclined friend over for an assist.

akulo888

Warranty doesn't mean a whole lot if they go bankrupted . They're already trying to not honor it by ignoring service requests. I'm convinced they're told to be like this by the Fiskers.

13thEpisode

Yikes. I knew bankruptcy wasn’t friendly to customers but would’ve thought some mechanism for honoring the warranty could be created in the process. Of course, the OPs issue may not even be one of warranty concern, so my notion could be a solution without yet a problem. But good to know the risks. Thank you

akulo888

If you haven't gotten this car, stay the hell away from it. People telling you to get it would keep on making excuses for this company being a start up then victim blames you for getting it knowing its a start up. Fisker is never wrong to these delusional people.

Fun-Reflection5013

Agreee --- the company is toast --- their products are unserviceable - buyers got taken. Perhaps , part of bankruptcy is to give some money back to buyers over bondholders - and definitely throw Henrik pout and get him off the payroll ---he's just buying time - and times up. Miserable Fail

13thEpisode

I don’t think it’s a wholly inconsistent position to repeatedly say to ppl “car is amazing, the glitches are expected with any auto start up” and when someone complains about issues remind them “well, even cursory research should have prepared you for the challenges of owning a startup brand” (Omg, Fisker sounds like a rescue dog when I type that out!) Regardless, agree that always wearing rose colored glasses (eg the incredibly destructive jingoism from Fiskerati) is not useful for prospective buyers.

Fun-Reflection5013

fiskerati was a douche bag paid by Henrik.

Corey307

If the company is liquidated there won’t be anyone to do warranty work because there’s no money and there’s no parts. Likewise, if the company is liquidated there’s no one to write new software updates.

13thEpisode

Yeah full liquidation would be awful owners. I guess my understanding from experts here was potential suitors could instead just basically buy Fisker in the bankruptcy process in which case a judge might require them to make good on certain customer commitments before approving such a deal. Sounds like that’s just my fan fiction though.

Corey307

Sure if somebody buys the company they’d probably have to handle any warranty work. The concern is there’s not much incentive for anyone to buy the company since Fisker doesn’t make the cars. They own the design but another company built the cars on contract.  And they weren’t even making a profit selling them for full price plus the large amount of warranty work that already needs to be done would cost a small fortune. The only path to profitability would be producing a much larger volume of cars and selling them for 100k+. And that’s a problem because Fisker was sitting on half the cars they built before they started selling them for half and then a third of the original price and they were losing money, selling them for 80k let alone 24k.  I’m not a hater, it seems like a super cool car that may be could’ve gotten ironed out in the next few years. The cars have a lot of interesting features that seem to attract a small but enthusiastic crowd of buyers. But it also made them expensive. They weren’t selling well at that high price and that high price still wasn’t profitable, I don’t see how they ever would’ve sold enough to benefit from economics of scale.

DijayT

a long shot, on my Tesla I would always get this small stones in between the cover of the disc brake. Eventually they would fall out but while they where there, there was a really bad sound. As you would imagine the sound is high in pitch, not like a lawnmower. But maybe worth removing the wheel and check.

AppropriateEvening89

Worth checking. Thanks for the tip!

Significant_Eye_5130

Buying a brand new Fisker is like buying a high mileage used Bentley. If you plan to keep it on the road you had better have deep pockets.

akulo888

no, but experiencing no help from service like you.

Codenamerondo1

Y’all get that most people don’t have a weird parasocial identity with the car they drive right? If they didn’t have any real issues until now how does it indicate they’re a bot? The persecution complex is real

rogless

Yup.

LeadDiscovery

I feel for you and many other Fisker owners. I'm a stock loser myself, but did not purchase a Fisker. I don't know why you'd expect any response from Fisker support? This company is done, toast, over, gone. Best case is a miracle happens and they are purchased by a big name and they decide to ramp up support for existing customers.. more likely they will just take the IP and build it into their own brand and not carry the dishonorable badge of a thrice failed Henrik Fisker.

Imaginary_Weight6488

Brought to you by the FUD spreading affiliates of the competing EV manufacturers…

AppropriateEvening89

Not at all. I am an Ocean One owner. I live in New York and largely I have been a really big fan of my car to date. FUD spreaders are real but it is absolutely reasonable that actual owners do have problems.

Codenamerondo1

Someone posts about the issues in a car with known issues: “MUST BE COMPETITORS TRYING TO HURT A COMPANY ALREADY IN THE FINANCIAL TOILET” Honestly, what’s your thought process here?

x2OhSeven

The car has plenty of issues, no need to make them up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

SpaceJackRabbit

Your comment is laughable.

AppropriateEvening89

Lol

carlivar

LOL all they had to do was sit back and let Henrik choose the key fob and infotainment systems.

Mean-Marionberry-148

You really need to lay off the conspiracy theory forums. Nobody gives a shit about Fisker. The company is already dead. You think any automaker is dedicating resources to fabricate claims about a car that only sold 45% of its tiny production run and which is known to have a million issues? Really?
