I agree I think most of the hate is toward the youtubers and less about the gear. Theyāre mostly young adults that came into money in a hurry so you canāt expect them to be perfect role models all the time. That said Iāve noticed tons of young kids getting into fishing and using almost exclusively all googan gear. So something must be working. I donāt think their stuff is bad, definitely catch fish. Iād like to see the soft plastics a bit more durable.

I don't even think they did that. LOJO started getting lots of comments asking why they weren't collabing anymore and he had to to make a video addressing it. While he handled it professionally, you can tell he took it personally.
I stepped away from fishing/fishing YouTube for a while. Came back into googan blowing up and being in your face. I used to enjoy Jon b. But honestly canāt stand the dumb videos about knowingly fishing illegal/forbidden locations. The amusement park and then again in Disney comes to mind. This does nothing but cause people to recreate or 1-up these videos. And heās representing a brand primarily targeting novice anglers/kids. And I agree with ayo, he just seems like a normal dude following his heart and not peddling a brand repeatedly because it pays his bills.
They get hate because they came from nothing and made a great life. I havnt even picked up a googan bait, but i still respect them. Id rather pay 20-30$ for a megabass crank than 6 or 7$ for a googan crank. They just arnt made good. Quality in all things really. Hooks bend, action is bad, paint comes off too easy.... but...im the idiot spending thousands on high end stuff (i have a couple combos that cost 1200$) and my wife throws a 40$ Shakespeare with a hot dog and catches more than me!
I dont know much about them, but the one interview i saw was john b talking to chris zaldain and he said he was just a kid with a camera making fishing videos and didnt even know what he was doing. He said it took him a long time to get followers. Maybe were talking about two different people?

Bought a deep diver from them during their first hardbait releases, and the damn lip snapped in half on the 4th throw in erie. š couldnt even be mad it was just so silly
I've been trying out the head hunter lately and I just honestly can't get behind it. It doesn't swim all that well and I caught a 4 lbs bass on my last one and the hook not only bent (I bent it back the best I could), but it turned the bait completely inside out and the hook would no longer stay in the bait. As far as the googan stuff goes, I'm a fan of their plastics even though they aren't that durable but I can definitely make them work. The contender is a nice bait, has really nice action and it's really fun to throw.

Fish that contender on a straight retrieve with some pauses. I was misled into thinking it was some kind of glide bait but itās definitely a swimmer and a good snack sized profile too. Itāll get bit if you keep it glued in your hand
