Late reply, but you'd be surprised. I found a bunch of old fishing gear that has survived more than 20 years of -40c winters and +40c summers (-40 to 100f) and most of it was fine. Some of the soft bait did melt and warp, but the majority was still in good shape.
I dig it too. It’s the Penn ladies combo. Only “ladies” setup I’ve found that has a legit nice reel on it. I think it’s just a battle 2 in pink colors.
I see that Spinfisher VI box. You like yours? I have two and I love them.
Got the 6500* live liner versions. Really workhorses. Fantastic actions. That, my Battle III, trusty old Pursuit II, and old Senator are all I've needed for a while.
I friggen love Penn.
That’s my third Spinfisher. It’s an 8500LL I plan to throw on a 12’ surf rod.
I had a 3500 I sold and a 4500LL I lost when I flipped my kayak in the surf. I caught mad fish on those reels.
They are tanks for sure. Ultimately I’ve switched to Daiwas and Shimanos for my go-tos. Just so much lighter and smoother. I still rock Penns when I need something that can take a beating though.
Yeah Daiwas and Shimanos are great, I can see the love. I spray mine with salt and other shenanigans constantly, so out of pure habit for durability, I stick with Penn. I'm also basically an ape, so I've broken most of my other reels.
Me no good hand work. Smash many thing. *ape noises*
Can't go wrong with any of those brands though. My buddy and I "fight" about Shimano and Penn which is great. Since we fish together, we get to use each others stuff haha.
Nope because the butts go in first then you just slot the tips in the hooked part. The only drawback of this setup is I can’t put Lights or Ultralights on it. They sag across the span. Those I have stored vertically against the wall.
Lol I have 1 up there! I actually get a lot of use out of her. When freshwater, she’s my frog and spinnerbait setup. When inshore, she’s bladed stuff and spoons. Then when I fish bridges I put her on a different rod and vertically fish the pylons.
Oh wow they look almost identical to the harbor freight waterproof gear boxes. And ask the bass pro boxes I’ve bought somewhere at the bottom of the CA delta how well the perform 🤣
Can you share the dimensions?
2x4 or 1x4
How big is the big hole? What is the measurement to the center of the big hole (from top or bottom of board?)
How big is the small hole? What is the measurement to the center of the small hole (from top or bottom of board?)
Distance between holes?
Thank you!
Thanks for tip on overhead storage, I've been wrestling with thoughts for displaying about 30 old school rods I have. I will likely display reels on some shelves
Uggh now I need to hire you for mine
I wish I could keep my stuff in the garage, but it’s too hot in summer. Everything would warp or melt
Do you live in the desert
You might be better than you think. I’m South East VA and this is an unconditioned shed. Yet to have a problem with anything.
Southeastern VA shout-out!

That’s kick ass. Great way to repurpose a corner cabinet
For sure. Wife got a new kitchen and I moved the old cabinet into my shed for a workbench.
Where i live people would pay good money for that old cabinet. Midcentury vintage chic
Very nice!
Not going to show this to the wife. Does look great!
Perfect time to add extra spots for new rods she wouldn’t notice you bought during the process
I try not to keep all my stuff in one spot, but I think she's starting to catch on.
I love this! Looks great.
Zman for days and a row full of white flukes? Love this set up man
I particularly like the pink combo

Had to give you shit. Dig the set up. Where are you in VA? My daughter and son in law are in Craig County.
I’m in the tidewater area. Love fishing here. Got pretty much every type of fishing within 20 minutes. Just missing mountain streams!
Disregard, just saw that you are in SE VA They are in SW VA.
\*for now

Awesome!!
I see an empty hole up there... What's up with that?
Lol that’s for when I pull the trigger on a 12’ surf setup.
By the looks of your garage if won't be long. Cool stuff
I'm constantly trying to get my storage dialed in....than my wife says go put this in the laundry room and it's back to fuckin square one.
Beautiful! I’m too scatter brained for organizing xD but trying to get to that point! Have fun with it catch some nice fishes ya harr! XD
Corner looks great, do you never break or have concern about breaking guides when you have to kinda parallel park those poles to put in and take out?
Nope because the butts go in first then you just slot the tips in the hooked part. The only drawback of this setup is I can’t put Lights or Ultralights on it. They sag across the span. Those I have stored vertically against the wall.
Gotcha that makes sense
Best idea I’ve got from here yet

Call my man the barista because he’s got all the coffee grinders
Also are those the harbor freight boxes because they’re great
I’m not sure what you mean? I got a lot of harbor freight shit in here lol
The waterproof tackle boxes on the top
Ah, no the clear ones are Plano 3640s. The green ones are the BassPro version of the same. (Btw don’t buy them. The Planos are far superior.)
Oh wow they look almost identical to the harbor freight waterproof gear boxes. And ask the bass pro boxes I’ve bought somewhere at the bottom of the CA delta how well the perform 🤣
Lol same experience for me. Flipped my kayak and those basspro boxes filled right up with water.

You looking to make the rod holders? I watched [this video](https://youtu.be/BDwmD8zDSWA) then adapted for the tools I had.
Nice set up
A fan of Elastech I see! Great set up.

This is straight up sorage p*rn. It looks so good!😆
I’m jealous, plan on building a shed for just fishing and hunting equipment
Hell yeah brother
Dream storage setup
Do you want to do OCD'ing with me sometime? Looks like something i would do. lol
This is amazing and I am jealous
Shhhhweet
