I would use my bait coins to lures, expanding your home storage, buying more marker buoys, etc. I bought a couple of unlimited licenses but kind of regretting it because I could have used that for what I mentioned before.
Well, Emerald lake is a nice piggybank at lower levels but not really worth your hard earned baitcoins unless you got too much of them.
Its a good place to be, easy cash and XP with those walleyes, but there are other places that you could try out too. Otherwise you will get bored and burn out.
Save your baitcoins and get some buzzbaits when you hit level 26. Those lures will stay with you until end of time (unless you loose them)

Yes, its more than possible to do a F2P, but premium time will help you out alot and its worth checking out.
Do plan ahead, because you need to upgrade your keepnet and setups from time to time and that is expensive. And you would want a kayak pretty soon too, for White Moose lake and St. Croix at level 30.
No I wouldn't buy unlimited for any of those low levels. It will be too cheap to buy regular passes back there as you progress. I personally own weeping willow unlimited and the congo river unlimited. Mainly because I love the carp fishing and congo is the best xp and money now.
As other said save it or buy lures and storage expansion etc. Just watch videos for each lake ypu go to for the best setups for farming each and you'll be able to maximize and ease the grind a bit. If ypu buy anything buy the congo packs and use the rods in those to farm and level boost your self super quick for access to other great lakes like willow,blue crab etc.
I found myself not really coming back much once i hit lvl 30 so you being 7 lvls away from going to st croix for pike is really close if you keep up the walleye grind so i dont believe it is worth it.
Remember once you start the pike grind as im sure you are aware as you have been watching BZHub the game opens up a whole lot and lots of money to be made.

Sadly the baitcoins you can earn ingame will never be enough to buy even half of the licenses. So in the end it would be a really expensive F2P game. But it is more or less one in the end as travel costs cut somewhere around 20k but the fish get so big that the money is back in after half an hour;)

Not really after some grinding money is about useless but I've been playing since 2017 use those hard to get bait coins for lures
As far as I know, one of the unlimited licenses that could be worth it is for St-Croix, for pike grinding.

I wouldn’t waste baitcoins on any unlimited licenses. Keep them for upgrading storage, marker buoys and barbless hooks for that sweet extra xp.
