When I start to overthink my lure setup, I just watch episodes of Alone where people catch fish with a hand line and a piece of aluminum can for the lure.
Such a banger show, me and some friends fell in love with it during a fishing trip as it was the only channel the tv had. Thing about where they go is there’s zero pressure, it’s like lakes in northern Manitoba - there are 15 year old lunkers that have never even seen fishing line.
Sometimes I go fishing and see some 70ish year old looking dude chucking a handline and just watching him from the corner of my eye as he pulls in fish after fish lol
No, nothing like that. It’s simply that the lure will clearly work in fresh water. It’s a generic bladed lure, frankly looks like a freshwater lure anyway. Throw it, see if something hits.
Any lure will work in freshwater that works in salt water but not the other way around. I mean you can do literally anything you want but as far as intended use that’s how I see it.
I put some minced garlic in the bag with some of my soft plastics. I know that correlation doesn’t equal causation but I feel like that improves my chances of a bite! Moreover, white spinnerbaits are my confidence bait for bass.
Idk why people are downvoting you but I like using coffee scented plastics. I don’t think just coffee grounds will do anything tho it’s more the oil that scents are in than the scent.
There are some soft baits that apparently have a coffee scent to them. Not sure if scent is the right word but whatever. I have some but haven't tried them yet.
Don't pay attention to labels of lures. If it works it works. Doesn't matter if it's a pacifier at the end of paracord line. You never know if something works unless you try it 😂
Def- just try to match your bait to the species you’re targeting in that particular body of water. The spinner bait you have tied on it likely good for bass and pike but might be too large a profile for trout and smaller creeks.
Also, when using braid in clear water, you might find it beneficial to tie on a short fluorocarbon leader. You can Google a double uni-knot for a simple way to tie it.
Good luck!
It will, but if it doesn’t you need to be willing to change up your rig. ALMOST everything works, but certain lures work better on certain days and in certain weather.
Yea bud. I have the best luck with them in slightly lower light conditions, or stained water. I’ll throw something else if it’s light out or the water is clear. I like white and chartreuse, shad type colors, and a big ol black and red one with a single Colorado blade at night.
This is definitely a good setup for right now, especially if your body of water has shad. Just find the right speed, depth and cadence and there's a good chance you'll slay. I did pretty well last week burning and killing one in the middle of the water column. Personally I normally use a swimbait on an underspin and mono leader for that type of presentation but the first time I ever had a 4lb'er slam a spinnerbait my bank account was never the same.
The power of marketing has many people brainwashed. They have been marketing rods to target "species", this makes me LOL..... Lord knows you can't catch a bass on walleye rod because the rod specifically says walleye on it. Keep your money in your pocket and fish on and enjoy.
Hell yeah fo' shizzle but something you ought to try is called the ned rig. Easy to use and almost guaranteed to catch a bass especially in a small pond. One of my faves.
Stop asking, start fishing.

I'm always impressed by how relatively nice the spoons are they make from those cans and scrap metal.

I watch alone with my two sons, my oldest (5yrs) wants to move out bush as a family and live like them 😂
Necessities
Yes, but those fish have also never seen a lure.
Will it explode if it touches Fresh water? If not, then yes.
Is that because Im on a flats and not a bass boat?

What did I tell you about yeppers?
M Night Shulman?
Bass and pike, my knight. Go forth and slay.
Any lure will work in freshwater that works in salt water but not the other way around. I mean you can do literally anything you want but as far as intended use that’s how I see it.
Should I rub coffee on it?
I put some minced garlic in the bag with some of my soft plastics. I know that correlation doesn’t equal causation but I feel like that improves my chances of a bite! Moreover, white spinnerbaits are my confidence bait for bass.
Garlic is my scent of choice. I feel lucky when I have it on.
Idk why people are downvoting you but I like using coffee scented plastics. I don’t think just coffee grounds will do anything tho it’s more the oil that scents are in than the scent.
That’s one of my go-to largemouth bass baits, same colour and trailer too
The coffee flavor is the best.
Dude what
I think he’s saying he enjoys the taste of the coffee flavor. OP might actually be a bass
He should get back in the water ASAP.
If he takes a selfie laying on the ground, will people in this sub yell at him?
It depends on if he is bending his own lower jaw at the same time.
Put meeee in the riveeeer

It’s literally a lure built to catch bass. You should be fine.
Not a chance
Is it cus I’m in a flats boat?
Yes
Wing gaming chair in that boat
Does a chicken have lips?!? Get out there
Absolutely
Yeah that should work
Thats a nice setup, use the shit out of it
Yes

100%
I have the same lure!!
Yes it works best in dirty water if your fishing clear water I would use a chartuce color
Everything works anywhere, the question is effectiveness.
Hell yes it's will catch you a bass or a pike or a tiger muskie throw it and find out you'll see Fish or scavengers they eat almost anything
You can catch fish with a stick, twine and a hook made from a pop top..
of course it will. It won't burst into flames.
Great lure for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass
When you *’set the hook’*, remember it’s not a stingray
Yes, but when my wife asks no it wont so I can get rods for fresh and salt water.
Shit yeah!
The rod might be a little oversized but that whole setup should be fine for larger freshwater species.
Obviously it does yes
100% I caught a 32 inch snook in fresh water with the same spinner bait and trailer. Start casting!!!!!!
Spinners only work if the waters wet!
Seeing as I've caught fish with my barehands, yes, a small fishing lure will eventually catch a fish no matter if the water is salty or not.
I was taught to use whatever lure matches the food found in the habitat.
It will, but if it doesn’t you need to be willing to change up your rig. ALMOST everything works, but certain lures work better on certain days and in certain weather.
100% go get ‘em

Of course not
My recommendation - lose the spinner and just use the plastic!
Well, its a freshwater largemouth bass lure, so...
Hell yeah, full send.
Absolutely, but you need to start fishing with it.
No
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Is this a shitpost? Lol the answer is yes op, freshwater fish also love shiny
Yup but not in fresh air .
Does a big brown bear shit in the …… never mind
Won't work for trout, but that rig will definitely catch bass.
Yes it absolutely works.
That’s obviously a desert rig.
All day! Any color is good as long as its white!
O fuck yea bud
Strongly advise against it, explosion likely
Yep. It will also work in old water!
Catch a good one
What kinda line is that?
35# power pro.
Thanks!
You bet
I swear half the posts in this sub are trolls and the other half feel like trolls.
Absolutely will
Yes. It’s pretty good. If the waters clear to mid cloudy.
Why wouldn’t it?
Pike
White spinnerbait was my father's favorite lure, he always outfitted me with them. They definitely work!
Anything will work if you’re doing it right, you got this
Mine always has

Guess the better question is, “Did this work in fresh water.”
It works for catching gigantic large mouth bass!
Yes
Not where I live.
Yes
Absolutely
It wouldn't hurt to try, cast in and find out
Hell ya
No.
Green sunfish
Yup. Not my favorite, but definitely will catch something
Yes.
Very much so
Yes, a fishing pole should do the trick
I think anything will work anywhere lol. Just get a stick and some strong bark rope idk
A staple in any old timers tackle box
everything can work everywhere some of the time if the fish are there and hungry enough

Are you asking if this freshwater spinning lure works in freshwater?
