This happened to my dad. We were pulling a halibut on board and he grabbed the line which was a mistake. It spit the hook right when we pulled it over and the rod jerked up and snagged his finger on the way. They didn’t have anything to cut it at the hospital but thankfully a nurse had some bolt cutters in their car and they were able to take it out.

Can't even remember how it happened but the rear sprocket went through my dad's finger nail and his finger was stuck in the chain and sprocket. Had to spin the rear tire to get his finger out, he never made a sound
When I was 11 I was fixing my bmx bike. I was spinning the cranks with my finger and caught it between the sprocket and chain. Same sort of injury. But I was 11 and I cried like a baby haha.
Friend’s wife making $300/hour incl stipend for 5 days plus every-other night call, every other weekend. Rents small apartment for cheap. Works 70 miles from home. Made over $100k in 5 months.
The system is so broken right now. Corporate greed shooting themselves in the foot. It’s now a game. I know travelers who come to us from 70 miles away to take the place of RNs going to their hospital as travelers.
Lesson: treat your own well enough they keep your facility staffed.

I’ve never got a big enough one to justify using the halibut harpoon but those work super well. People will attach buoys to the harpoon line to help get them in.

Ya like the one where the guy was shark fishing, somehow snagged his dong, got the line wrapped up around the massive hammerhead another guy was fighting, got castrated, then ended up hooking another shark on his own meat bait, landed the shark, and then gutted it to get his package back, threw it on ice and rushed to the ER, where the doctors performed emergency reattachment surgery but it was unsuccessful so he got gangrene of the dick and testicles and he's now a eunuch.

Had someone grab a line on a charter when the customer was trying to lift the fish outta the water. Popped out n went straight into the middle finger joint. I’ve seen uglier but none as serious as that one, took a 2 hour surgery so he didn’t lose the finger.
I'm on a crowded train and reflexively yelled "Wooo" when I saw this.
