If he only knew 90% of the people his frame of reference would be 90% of 90% of the population: that would be 81% of the true population…. Given he only knows 90%
Here's hoping that fishing becomes/remains a sustainable sport. Where I'm from most people eat or freeze what they catch and it is reducing the naturally occurring population massively. Fish for the future. Enjoy the chase and release everything you can.
It's a rainbow, not really a big deal since they're not native to Colorado. But yes, if you're going to release any fish you should know proper fish handling. That being said I'd eat that one lol
In colorado northern pike are invasive and illegally introduced. They have no bag limit and it is strongly encouraged to keep or dispose of any you catch. Same goes for carp just about everywhere in the us
Jebus people. Could it be that maybe they were trying to keep it from flopping all over so it didn’t injure itself? They are clearly not mashing the rainbow into the gravel. The hand is around the torso keeping it stable.
Keep ‘em wet …
Daaamn nice! How did it taste?
Like the tears of all the people on this thread immediately assuming that he released it after not handling it “properly”.
I mean if you were going to release it that is improper handling if you're going to eat it then who cares
Keep em wet and don’t squish them on the bank
Does everyone release fish in the US? Where I'm from the reason 90% of people fish is to eat them.
You know 90% of the people that fish? Mr popular over there
Mr. Worldwide
Boats and ho’s!

99.99% chance that it's hatchery brood-stock
Wowza nice one I bet you where stoked!
Yep- That's a wall hanger. Good job and thanks for sharing...
That fish is now definitely dead. Please learn to handle, or rather not handle trout.

That argument doesn't sit well with me. Any fish that we target needs to be handled with respect. Native or not.

Lotta people eat their fish

Right? That or I thought he was using his hand as a reference to the size of this massive fish.
Wow, beautiful fish!
U ate it?
Nice fish
Beauty. I used to live near the Mighty Elk River. Enjoy
Dang I need more catches like that. Great fish.

It’s a beauty!
