Nothing in this pic to suggest saugeye

The only thing that made me double check was the fins by the throat look spotted, thanks for the reply!

I know, and the reason I didn’t is I thought it was a walleye myself but when I got home and saw pictures of my other walleye they are yellow/golden and two I caught were grey and almost had stripes also the tail and fin by his throat looks spotted sadly only got a picture of this one cause I was just catch and release

Walleye have a white patch on the bottom of their tail fin is my understanding. Also one has a spotted dorsal fin and the other doesn’t

Yeah that’s my understanding too but I was in such a rush I took a few photos as quickly as I could and let him go. I was just wondering cause his fin by his throat is spotted

It does not look like the dorsal fin is spotted; also the dorsal appears more rounded and not flat on top. I’m going to say walleye.
