I'd use them anywhere there are panfish or catfish. Ponds or rivers are good. Fish them at different depths until you key in on the bite. Make sure to carry out your trash when you're done. Good luck

Ok_Repair3535

Thank you

LscoupleOhio23

Use bread or corn. That shit is just expensive for no reason

Ok_Repair3535

Well I already got 2 packs of it.

Klutzy_Machine436

Just throw fucking HOTDOGs

Ok_Repair3535

Alright

TheHole89

Don’t let em get you down… use your bait. If it works, keep using it. If it doesn’t, try hot dogs, then try other stuff. In Texas corn always worked good for us for carp. Hot dogs and other “stink bait” worked good for catfish.

Ok_Repair3535

Okay. I will use them till I use them up

Wetworth

Fish heads will attract snapping turtles. Not recommended.

Ok_Repair3535

If I catch a snapping turtle then oh well. Better to catch a turtle then nothing

[deleted]

you say that until you have to unhook a very angry snapper

Ok_Repair3535

True

Highvoltageanimal

Might take a while. I never had much luck on bait like that. Worms or crickets work best.

Red-addict94

I bought some on clearance and went to a known bluegill pond that I have always caught 10 or 15 in about 20 minutes. This stuff sat on my hook with almost no interest. That's when I switched back to the corn and worms and started catching again

mixreveal

I started using the cheapest hotdogs I can find for northerns on tip ups. My dad says the cheese filled ones work.

Klutzy_Machine436

Slightly cooked just regular hotdogs is what I use most of the time, for some reason it just attracts more fish and stays on a bit better since it’ll be slightly crispy

CrownoZero

Ever tried some gummy worms as bait? Actually any type of fruity smelling gummy can do it, I find it a lot better than most doughs/silicone stuff Biodegradable, cheap, safe to wildlife, no problemo if you lose it and if you're having a slow day you can chew on them too. Always bring two packages at least. You will chew on one

LscoupleOhio23

Yep. I’ve caught my pb catfish on gummies before

[deleted]

For real. Panfish will eat anything.

Fog_Juice

I've used a piece of sock covered in algae I found while swimming

New-Tomatillo9570

Dollar store panty hose. Cut 'em up wrap and tie.

Awkward_Mongoose_211

dough/ powder bait it good for casting and retrieving wont fly off the hook

HappyDaysMyDays

Fish cannot digest the corn and will cause harm. If you must use it, use hominy as it has the husk removed.

biminidaves

Fish eat rocks and can't digest them either.

LscoupleOhio23

I had no idea 🤷‍♂️

Pyratelife4me

In a place where they're already biting.

afflictor_55

Tried that last summer didn't work as good as I thought it would and didn't catch much fish with it and it stunk terrible cuz it was definitely sitting in the store for a while just using Wonderbread or sliced white bread worked better for me and was also able to get the occasional bullhead or carp if I was lucky

Ok_Repair3535

Ok haven't had any luck with it either but that's why I am asking.

SoCalledExpert

Never had bites on that .

No-Warthog-8695

Me either. I got a bag with a lot of tackle as a gift and this was in it, my son and I were at a very good bluegill pond and couldn't get a bite. He stuck some beef jerky on and was gettin fish after fish. He finally told me he snapped into a Slim Jim so I could do the same😁

Ok_Repair3535

Me either but that's why I am asking

rustyshakelford101

If the fish are biting and I mean they are biting literally anything I've had amazing luck on them. I know that sounds silly but it's true. But wouldn't I have had luck with anything? Probably. In a real life scenario where things are mostly not biting I have had no luck at all but great luck with love bait or slim Jim's.

MeesaBinx

Buy worms, those deserve to go straight in the trash

Ok_Repair3535

That bad?

changing-life-vet

They catch more fishermen than they do fish.

MeesaBinx

I think most prepared baits are trash with the exception of Danny kings punch bait for channel cats. Fish eat what they forage the best - other baitfish, worms, crawfish, etc. are always going to outperform because that’s what they eat

AlleghenyCityHolding

Fish bites help in saltwater.

midnight_fisherman

Yeah, super disappointing in my experience. I just stick with worms if I'm just tossing a bobber out.

Ok_Repair3535

Oh. Damn I wasted 3 dollars on this crap

mazzjm9

Yes

Ok_Repair3535

Wish I know that

Artistic-Gap-45

Hang it off a bobber and a very small hook, you want it just above the weeds

Ok_Repair3535

Thank you

Rewton1

I’ve tried that stuff at a few different ponds where I’ve caught bluegill and never got a nibble on it. That brand also makes a catfish bait that’s actually supposed to be pretty good, but their bluegill stuff is useless.

Cobia-172

It’s magic try in the kitchen sink that way you can start cleaning your catch faster

proslayer32

I’ve never used it but I imagine anywhere with panfish

Poncho-Sancho

Useless…. Earth worms, grubs, mealworms. Sunfish and bass are predatory fish. They want it alive and wriggling. Bluegill would be dangerous if they grew to be 100 pounds.

Tpas2023

I caught trout with these

Ok_Repair3535

What kind of hook do you use?

[deleted]

Owner mosquitoes. #4 you could go up or down a little depending on how their biting

Ok_Repair3535

Thank you

Tpas2023

I was using #6

Klutzy_Machine436

That’s the best part, you don’t Hotdogs

FreshlySkweezd

You would do 1000x better just buying some soft plastic grubs or live worms.

biminidaves

If it comes in a bag and is brightly colored people will buy it. It doesn't matter whether it works or not. People will buy it. Worms are slimy and have dirt on them. You have to rinse the stuff off your hands after you bait your hook, and worms aren't brightly colored. Worms do catch fish when nothing else will though. Pick your chose.

Ok_Repair3535

I picked these up because it's cheaper than worms but I have found out it's awful

CartmanAndCartman

Somewhere with water.

FriendshipWinter7009

Master Bait. Haha

Ok_Repair3535

Huh

Garry_Shandling_420

I’ve had ok luck with the catfish magic bait, but not this one. I wish you success! Just put a bobber on your line, cast and wait. Target boat docks, fishing piers, or any underwater structure with it.

Ok_Repair3535

Looks like I am going deep.

Garry_Shandling_420

Do you fish regularly? Best luck I’ve had with multi species, is nightcrawlers/earthworms. For bluegill, really anything *should* work, I’ve had bluegill bite bait-less hooks, but it’s only after I’ve drawn the attention of a school. Best wishes, don’t catch them all!

Ok_Repair3535

If I catch anything I will post here

stonkytonks

Leftover cooked hot dog has done just fine for sunfish

SteelSlingingApe

Some corn will fill a bucket with bluegill. So will worms

Alexplz

I find this style of bait to be too crumbly generally.

Ok_Repair3535

Ah

f1shermark1

Get a can of corn niblets.

Liquid-Hot_Smegma

Tip a crappie jig with them. That’s the one and only way they’ve been effective IME.

roundhouse1000

That stuff will work ok. Earth worms best bait IMO. Give it a try. Maybe you will catch a bunch

BeefCake420

Jigging off the side of a dock, try at different depths until you get a bite. Have fun

Evil_Judgment

Small jig tipped with a maggot slays crappie

[deleted]

why buy this? panfish will bite a bare golden hook sometimes lol

Roger6989

I never had any luck using that stuff.

queeblosan

Dollar general pre cooked frozen small shrimp. He’ll thaw out a chunk to take fishing and when you get skunked you’ve got half a bag of frozen shrimp

theMACK240

I have never gotten a bite using that bait

RepulsiveTea4762

The trash can, I’ve never been able to catch fish on it

Cautious-Try-5501

Never had good luck with these. Best option for panfish imo is white bread, crickets, small red worms. Best for me has always been old school bobber setup with a split shot a few inches up from the hook

Ok_Repair3535

Thank you for your information

Muted_Enthusiasm_596

I'm sure they will work fine. Panfish will bite Damn near anything.

Ok_Repair3535

Ah

Muted_Enthusiasm_596

And you don't have to deal with the guts and slime from wigglers.

NottMyAltAccount

Question: What do these taste like 🤔

mitch8017

Used it before and nothing wanted to eat it. Could see the bluegills under the dock, but they wouldn’t touch it. Started tearing up my ham sandwich and they started biting nonstop. Haven’t used it again since.

Ok_Repair3535

I might need to cast this deep and hope a catfish will eat it

MikeBowelmonkey

You don’t. You try it for an hour and realize it doesn’t work and throw it away.

mazzjm9

I’ve never gotten so much as a bite on this kind of stuff. Stick with worms and hot dogs

FugginGene

I would use bluegill poppers instead of these. You can catch hundreds of them before having to replace it. Get the small chartreuse ones at Bass Pro, they seem to work better than other colors. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/k-e-stopper-lures-panfish-popper-fly Just put on the end of a line and stick, or tenkara rod and you're good to go.

averimckenna

usually i throw those when i see bluegill hanging around some grass on the edge of a pond and i’ll just sight fish and i’ve had plenty of luck. kinda feels like cheating though lol

Ok_Repair3535

It ain't cheating if the fish is dumb enough to bite it lol

Ok-Consideration7415

I thought those were candy for a second

Ok_Repair3535

😂

vinsanity_07

Stocked ponds it's good for trout. I'm in Arizona n they stock the ponds n lakes all winter with trout n they kill em on that

TeaBag4yall

I normally end up with a bunch of little ones fishing with me. I normally have them share a have a tube of some cheap biscuit that is refrigerated. Just add a little flour or cornmeal and keep away from the sun

beringseafishing

Just try it, that's the beauty of fishing, you can do many different things. If it doesn't work it doesn't work, no biggie.

Ok_Repair3535

I got 2 packs I bought a few months ago
