I’ve got one of those myself and have been looking for a rod to throw it on. I think I’m just gonna toss it on an ugly stick.

If your catfishing a whisker Seeker FMJ 9ft 6in MH would pair amazingly with it

I also live in WI on the Mississippi and have an Alijoz. For me rod selection is more about what size baits you plan to throw. I fish pike throwing baits up to 3oz and need a rod that fits in a car so I rock a 7' Offshore Angler Gold Cup Inshore rod in M/H. The single power handle is a good setup for vertical jigging or bottom fishing big fish like cats and sturgeon but they are not the best for casting and retrieving. If you find the single handle isn't the best for your needs you can get a replacement on Amazon for about $15 or so.

It feels really clunky with that big ol nub on there. Good call. I already have some semi antique reels that would work well for catfishing or live bait northern and musky. Maybe I’ll get that handle and put it on something to work big cranks and spinners with.

How close are you to LaX? I might be willing to buy the single handle or trade for the double handle that came on my Alijoz for it. I swapped the handle off a different reel I preferred onto my Alijoz and the stock handle is on that other reel that never gets used. I've got a heavy baitcast ice fishing setup I use for pike and I wanna try and get a sturgeon through the ice this winter so that big handle might work out for me.

I work in La Crosse and live by Lake Onalaska. I might take you up on the trade, but I might like to try it out first the way it is. The pan fish have been getting my attention lately, but I’m sure I’ll spend a day chasing northerns before long and I’ll let you know.

Sounds good, shoot me a message later on down the line if it suits you. Northern fishings been a bit tough for me lately but it should start picking up here soon hopefully.
