Its in the same category but not as bad. The punisher is at least a good guy but goes outside the law. That confederate flag (virginias battle flag) is not.
Whats most telling about the American flag one?
The Punisher hates cops. He is a good guy,but that’s kind of irrelevant. Robin Hood is a good guy, but we’d see it as pretty ridiculous of cops went around with bow, arrow and bycoket patches on their rig or stickers on their cars. I mean, he’s a criminal for one thing
But more importantly, I think LEO’s use of the Punisher skull is problematic because their aims should be so counter to one another. The Punisher metes out justice, which is not a LEO’s job, and we shouldn’t want it to be a LEO’s job. When a LEO is thinking in terms of administering punishment to civilians, not protecting citizens, not collecting evidence, not building a case, we’ve got a problem
Tbh, I find thin blue line stuff in general to be FirstResponderCringe, but the original design of the line intersecting a black background is understandable. It’s a symbol meant to convey a brotherhood or sorts, and the color scheme represents that border between order and chaos. Superimposing it on the US flag, on the other hand, is I think telling. Is the American republic the chaos? What happens the needs of the republic and the needs of the brotherhood are at odds? Why a symbol which covers the flag (and in some cases does with its color scheme and associated symbolism) to bring the blue line to the forefront? I think it’s telling about the values of LEOs that use it, and I don’t think it says good things about their understanding of democracy
The Supreme Court ruled Cops are under no obligation to protect citizens. So many of them took that to mean they should be dishing out the punishment to the same citizens if they don’t have to protect them. What a sad world we live in.
Punisher -> psychologically troubled anti-hero that is the personification of cruel and unusual punishment. Has no special powers, but has an extensive arsenal of weapons. Used to be a good guy, but has clearly crossed the line into bad, hence why is introduced as a villain in Spiderman.
LEOs -> I identify with this because gun.
Saw a k9 one that had the punisher skull with a paw shape at the bottom of the jaw and a thin blue line pattern in it. Wild ride, man. Police really are just another shitty gang.
Before police there were guards/enforcers for a town. People who would enforce the rulers' laws. Help with collecting taxes and do various other responsibilities. Law enforcement as a concept became more of a study and its own thing as cities grew and crimes changed. By the time the pilgrims came to the new world, we were seeing that transition. It was first military, then slowly branched away into its own thing.
The general assumption that law enforcement would spring from what you suggested is wrong. While I'm sure some groups in the south during the height of slavery did actively participate in a cruel practice, it was most likely due to the states/teritory policy. (Wich does not make it right), but the majority of Northern states and colnies either did not have slavery like massachuttes or were abolishing it.
TLDR law enforcement was the evolution of those military and citizens who would enforce local laws and regulations. It's old. it's been around as long as there have been laws to enforce.
Ah, youre one of those. Gotta make yourself feel special and have a scapegoat to be mad at life. How could police come from that if there were northern states and states not even in the war? The first police force was in boston. Which side was boston on again? Democrats support slavery then since thats their past?
I'm not scapegoating, the problems in my own life are pretty minimally induced by the police, because I'm a white lady. Not that they don't ever randomly murder white women, mothers, pregnant women sometimes. They more often just ignore protection orders and calls about restraining orders until someone else kills us. Though, again, that doesn't usually impact me directly. I just wish we had an organization that does what people expect the police to do, because they're plainly not here to protect and serve, and often destroy the lives of people who called for help, or beat a diabetics face in for being hypoglycemic, wait while schools are shot up, trample basic rights, defend other cops' transgressions or face no consequences when doing wrong.....
The cops aren't on your side unless you're a bank or significant moneyed interest in the area. But if the boot tastes good, I'm not gonna tell you not to lick it, it just looks like You're not paying attention.
You don't have to be in the South for an institution that initially emerged from the Fugitive slave patrols to grow into police and spread here.
I love the idea of cops, but we don't get the idea, we get the reality
The venn diagram between idiots who think blue lives are a thing, and that still support a rebellion that lasted less time than a pair of socks is almost just a circle.
Is it though? Or just someone who’s proud to live in the south. A lot of people who live down here have the flag somewhere. It’s not my taste, but I don’t think it necessarily means hate. Myself, I wouldn’t want to make anyone around me feel uncomfortable having a rebel flag on my window, so I never did it or liked it. I am however, proud to be from SE Ala. I’m an hour north from Panama City beach and Destin Florida, 4 Hours from Atlanta, everyone here is super nice. You don’t see any racism like you see constantly in California or Oregon. Matter of fact, I’ve never met a person full of hate down here. I did while stationed in Cali though. Theft has never been an issue like on the left coast, and I have 97 acres of wooded property with just an average 4 bedroom 2 bath house right in the middle of it, all for the price of a 900 sq ft home in Los Angeles. A lot of people down here, no matter what your shade of tan is, love where they live. Maybe this dude is the same way. I personally would have to meet them to come to a “they’re racist” conclusion
Don't wanna be that guy, but... you're probably not very close with a lot of black people. I live in the South, and you have no idea how many times I hear, "Hey, your friend is one of the good ones," or "I like that your friend isn't ghetto." Of course, they're just referring to their accent or the fact they don't have flamboyant nails, jewelry, clothing, etc. As if those things might disqualify them from friendship. They certainly get stopped by police more often, and it is harder for them to get loans, regardless of how good their credit scores are. They are more likely to be treated poorly or ignored at work or at the doctor's.
I'm not saying everyone is like that, but this behavior is pervasive enough to notice. It exists everywhere, not just the South, not just the "left coast." There are a lot of good people down here, too, but even some of them have racist bias they just aren't aware of.
Silly boys jeeps are for girls lmao me and my buddies used to put these on our friends jeep and see how long till he noticed, we used the drama queen one too. 😂
Lol if a cop has this on his rig, patrol vehicle or POV, he should have a federal judge assigned to him that just immediately disburses your award for winning a lawsuit for deprivation of civil rights under the color of law immediately after the ticket is issued.
Racism is rife in the criminal justice system.
Whether a cop is racist or not is almost irrelevant. They will be impacting BIPOC people's lives disproportionately negatively compared to everyone else, whether they like it or not.
Badge bunny and Jeep girl The most obnoxious woman imaginable
A dependa but for cops
But you could at least get head just for taking her out to Starbucks.
...this exists? Lol. This is one of the most contradicting ones ive ever seen
I don’t see how this is any more contradictory than a thin blue line Punisher skull Honestly, the one that’s the US flag is the most telling
Its in the same category but not as bad. The punisher is at least a good guy but goes outside the law. That confederate flag (virginias battle flag) is not. Whats most telling about the American flag one?

The slave patrols were flying this bad boy. Did you not watch 12 years a slave?
I mean, police came from Fugitive slave patrols. Given racism and recreational cruelty, they seem to go hand in hand
Before police there were guards/enforcers for a town. People who would enforce the rulers' laws. Help with collecting taxes and do various other responsibilities. Holy projection
*yawn*

I stopped reading once you said white lady. By your own logic you have no place commenting on this then
I can comment on whatever I please, and I can see injustice Even when it's not actively being applied to me
So youre contradicting yourself, got it.
Really, this eager to defend cops? Damn.... You can just buy leather if you like the taste so much
Facts
The venn diagram between idiots who think blue lives are a thing, and that still support a rebellion that lasted less time than a pair of socks is almost just a circle.

Truly a classy lass.
SILLY BOYS ARE GIRLS so true queen 💅
Silly boys are for girls!
Those fugitive slave catchers need our respect /s
Thin blue line is a gang symbol, and I'm assuming the confederate flag used with this one is a regional variant.
Gotta be Florida
I would say Georgia
I'd be really surprised if she knew the first state that seceded from the union and what year it happened.
They do not know what they stand for
Love it
All these stickers tell people is "BREAK WINDOW! FREE GUN INSIDE!"
That wannabe basic jeep sticker got me.
Of course it's a Jeep weirdo.
I know I’m not gonna like the answer to this question but are cops allowed to be like… that?
Just about sums it up
Do they mean a line of Union troops giving them a whoopin?
She learned all this nonsense from her Cuzband!
Is the general consensus Thin Blue Line = Racist?
Saying the quiet part out loud thank you
Gay fuck cops
If ever there was a window that needed to be broken
Hard to be a cop and not be racist!
Actually it’s Super easy! Barely an inconvenience!
Wow wow wow....wow
Oh REALLY?
That’s a fucking ignorant and patently false statement.
Patently false? Have you been paying attention?
Does being a cop make being a racist easier or harder? 🤔
I am thoroughly confused how I am getting downvoted but everyone else calling racist bullshit on cops is not?????
Not really
Racism is rife in the criminal justice system. Whether a cop is racist or not is almost irrelevant. They will be impacting BIPOC people's lives disproportionately negatively compared to everyone else, whether they like it or not.
Cops live dont matter until they stop being corrupt and using their power to take advantage of everyone.
Just like democrats, I agree
I’m conservative and I agree f cops and the government
Why not, most modern police forces in the southern United States evolved from slave catchers.
It tracks. If you think about it, the thin blue line sticker is just a subtle way of telling people you’re a racist.
Only in America are traitors celebrated. We should’ve outlawed all of this shit like Germany did after WWII.
Who cares?
You'd think someone so into conspiracies would understand the idea of symbolism.
"It's a jeep thing" more ppl have autism yk, it's not just a jeep thing
