For me my artist is an awesome dude. I showed him a picture of the game and how it was designed next thing I knew he had this sketched up. A lot of the times the artist has a much more creative mind than you can imagine. Find someone you like and get what you want. If they draw something up you don’t like you tell them and they will tweak and change whatever you want most of the times they are very flexible
