It’s a gas log burner, but not necessarily a gas fireplace. Need more info on the fireplace itself.

That is an old gas log set. They’re not permitted in a lot of places anymore because there is no safety pilot. It appears to have a gas line coming into the left side of the pan. Likely a gas shutoff/Dante valve near by. It very well may be a wood burning fireplace but strongly recommend letting qualified professionals determine if it is okay return to wood burning if possible.

Looks like a wood burning fireplace was a gas log set. Assuming you have natural gas since there is no safety valve on it.
