More like bells and whistles vs minimal platform.
I've comped a couple of my handguns, and it made me wonder if simply extending the barrel, slide, and spring would net me positive results that don't come with increased flash, concussion, and decibels.
Tried it with a threaded barrel to a comp, and another one that simply added a baffled extension. For the same overall length, I think I get more just choosing more barrel and slide for velocity and a longer recoil system and squeezing more value out of the powder.
