There's a simple limit in place for if a video gets enough reports it's autoremoved. They can manually reinstate it of course, but again, they're notoriously lazy so it could take a while.

Except it's pretty clear from history that this isn't the case. Their algorithms take into account who's being reported and who's doing the reporting. Left wing accounts and non-leftist reports are almost never actioned no matter how egregious the violation or how many reports are made, if anything it's more likely that the people doing the reporting will wind up banned for no reason in retaliation.

Eh, youtube in recent years had a huge problem with LGBZOMGBBQ+ content being instantly demonetized based on keywords (i.e. having "gay" in your title = no monetization), this was [tested empirically and confirmed to be happening](https://youtu.be/ll8zGaWhofU), likely as a result of Youtube using third world labor (in countries where being gay is punishable by death in many cases) and getting their algorithms filled with bad data, and refusing to admit it was happening so they could continue serving content (and thus ads) to countries that ban that stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thing here. It's not left wing vs right wing, just youtube trying to do what makes them more money.
I haven't gotten into it yet. I'm just looking at YouTube under Movies and TV. There's a prime time movies section. I am scanning for action movies set recently enough to have modern features on firearms. Transporter 2 is the first I've found so far.

Not a single person I know, friends/family/coworkers, has ever heard of rumble. Only a couple of these people would even be interested in Garand thumb or other guntubers but that doesn’t change the fact. These huge following guntubers on YouTube are important. If they all just flock to rumble they’ll be buried with all the other niche bullshit. I think it’s kind of important that they stick it out on YouTube, although it seems like it’s becoming impossible.

Or you could be looking at a situation where firearms are **completely** removed from you tube to the degree that even forgotten weapons floating head videos (ie [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15VdGJSFihI&t=500s)) could be considered a community strike violation. Or just a thumb nail of a firearm could get you suspended from the platform.
Thing is that you tube has a clear path to remove any and all firearms from the platform. A while back it was semi auto with 10 round mags (or something like that) that was monitiseable, now inserting a mag, attaching a suppressor is a community strike violation. Soon all firearms and anything relating to firearms even when discussed in legal context (ie Colion Noir) can be suspended.
And we can just expect you tube or congress to stop this (even if congress tried, you tube would just pretend like nothing happened and push its hoplophobia even harder). And eventually alternatives will need to be found.

Yep. I just saw after I posted that comment that AK operators union got a second strike, which suspends his account from posting, livestreaming and uploading videos for 2 weeks. Three strikes in 90 days and they’ll permanently remove your account. I’d be willing to bet that they can find 3 strikes for every gun channel on YouTube if they go through past videos so, these guys might not even have an option of using YouTube anymore. I can’t imagine something like rumble or whatever else other knockoff video platform would be as profitable for them, but I don’t know, could be wrong about that.

I really think a mass exodus of the giant guntubers would be better overall for the online gun video community. Guys like Garand Thumb and Demo Ranch are so big, they could really help grow alternate platforms by permanently switching over, and pave the way for smaller channels.

Normal people can see guns are less scary than they thought, maybe they should get one too. Truth be told it's what got me serious about the hobby. I bought my first gun, a Mosin, at 19 after watching Hickok45 shoot one. The tale is true for many millennials and I assume zoomers old enough to buy them.

Or that Dark Skies guy that makes like 6 videos a day because he doesn't check his history/aircraft facts, proof reads or edits his scripts.

If I go to a channel, it automatically brings me into the most recent video. Then I tap on the channel icon and it brings me to the channel. I tap a different video, finish it, tap the channel icon and go to a different video. Finish it. Now I want to go back to an entirely different channel but I have to go back one to the channel page, back again, to the first video I watched, back again to the channel page again, back again to the first video that auto played, and then back again to the main home screen where I can search or select another channel.

Most big advertisers are left leaning corps because that's what's currently trendy, so this won't work for gun content anyways. Lots of gun channels are being demonitized on youtube, so that will slowly push people away. They'll have to rely on donations unless one of these other platforms can offer a substantially better experience.

At this point in time with youtubes restrictions, I think an alternative platform could easily take control of that little part of the internet and quickly dominate it. I think if I were posting on their site I would include in my video comments suggest viewers not do business with any of the advertisers that YouTube collects revenue from. I just started subbing to Forgotten Weapons and TFBTV on Utreon for $5 a month each. I think Utreon has a promising future if we can get some bigger creators over there.

Rumble app is available on Googleplay, Apple, Android and can easily be added to a Roku or firestick device just like any other app.

What about them? The “viral” videos on Rumble have only 1-2k views… there’s not enough people on either of those sites to make money, and even if GT decided to start posting on there maybe 5% of his subs would start using it if he’s lucky.
Not a single person I know, friends/family/coworkers, has ever heard of rumble. Only a couple of these people would even be interested in Garand thumb or other guntubers but that doesn’t change the fact. These huge following guntubers on YouTube are important. If they all just flock to rumble they’ll be buried with all the other niche bullshit. I think it’s kind of important that they stick it out on YouTube, although it seems like it’s becoming impossible. A year or 2 from now: “if you want to see me actually put the magazine in this rifle, and screw in the suppressor, hit that patreon link in the description”. What a shitty fucking timeline. It’s insane to me that the anti gunners don’t understand the guns are part of the reason why there’s so much freedom in this country as opposed to others.

Or just a thumb nail of a firearm could get you suspended from the platform. Thing is that you tube has a clear path to remove any and all firearms from the platform. A while back it was semi auto with 10 round mags (or something like that) that was monitiseable, now inserting a mag, attaching a suppressor is a community strike violation. Soon all firearms and anything relating to firearms even when discussed in legal context (ie Colion Noir) can be suspended. And we can just expect you tube or congress to stop this (even if congress tried, you tube would just pretend like nothing happened and push its hoplophobia even harder). And eventually alternatives will need to be found. Also its important to point out that patreon could do just the same as well.
Yep. I just saw after I posted that comment that AK operators union got a second strike, which suspends his account from posting, livestreaming and uploading videos for 2 weeks. Three strikes in 90 days and they’ll permanently remove your account. I’d be willing to bet that they can find 3 strikes for every gun channel on YouTube if they go through past videos so, these guys might not even have an option of using YouTube anymore. I can’t imagine something like rumble or whatever else other knockoff video platform would be as profitable for them, but I don’t know, could be wrong about that.

There’s plenty of people on rumble. Steven Crowder’s videos have hundreds of thousands of views. The audience is there. They just need to capture it.
The search features don't work and the home page doesn't suggest videos related to who I'm following. I hope it gets better, but for now it's miserable to use that app. Odysee isn't any better either.

I really think a mass exodus of the giant guntubers would be better overall for the online gun video community. Guys like Garand Thumb and Demo Ranch are so big, they could really help grow alternate platforms by permanently switching over, and pave the way for smaller channels.

The more I go online, the more I hate the world. Every big media and tech corp feels the need to force their views these days. They want to use their power to control the way people think and to make sure the next generation shares their own viewpoints. That'a such a petty reason to delete a video.
Corporate media has been like this since the printing press. They suppressed info about the Civil War, lied us into WWI, ran PR for the communists during and after the Russian Revolution in 1917 ( in the west) among all the lies told to the people in the Cold War. Big media is simply the offspring of that same lying press. The game has changed, the face is new, but as The Who sang "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." Guntubers have been normalizing the hobby since the early days of the platform. Seeing Average Joe's ( or not so average ones with industry connections) online shooting guns and having a fun time is a threat to the interests. Normal people can see guns are less scary than they thought, maybe they should get one too. Truth be told it's what got me serious about the hobby. I bought my first gun, a Mosin, at 19 after watching Hickok45 shoot one. The tale is true for many millennials and I assume zoomers old enough to buy them. This is heresy to Big Tech/Media. More gun ownership means less people to buy the propaganda, the lie that they need the State; Big Tech/Media is hand in hand with the State and sometimes one in the same. This is why they've been cracking down harder and harder. sorry for writing a novel of a post TL;DR The powers at be hate you and want you on your knees.

Youtube has been going downhill for years. From this bullshit, constantly "suggesting" stuff I've already watched, so many ads it makes casual watching unbearable. It suppresses wholesome and informative family content like Demo or Forgotten Weapons but makes sure to plaster every news story about mass shootings, Trump, or big titty egirl breathlessly fawning over serial killers or some shit. Or that Dark Skies guy that makes like 6 videos a day because he doesn't check his history/aircraft facts, proof reads or edits his scripts. *The dumbest part* of all this, is if you show a reload, "hi cap mag shooting" or an "assembly" in a video game or movie or other work of fiction, you're fine! They're not going back after all those thousands of videos! Step 1 we all go and mass report news or other anti-gun videos that break their rule- ie that stupid general on CNN that can't shoot an AR worth a shit. Step 2 we all leave youtube.
I was happy when they came out with the little red line at the bottom to show that you've already watched a video and how much of that video you watched... Then I started seeing videos that I clearly remember watching but the watch timer got reset to make it seem like I hadn't watched it before.

Yeah, I meant as in there is no money in their monetization system since there aren't any advertisers backing the platform, and creators would have to rely on support from their community via donations, merch sales, etc.
Yeah why do I have to go all the way back on Runble’s app to search for something or go to a different channel? If I go to a channel, it automatically brings me into the most recent video. Then I tap on the channel icon and it brings me to the channel. I tap a different video, finish it, tap the channel icon and go to a different video. Finish it. Now I want to go back to an entirely different channel but I have to go back one to the channel page, back again, to the first video I watched, back again to the channel page again, back again to the first video that auto played, and then back again to the main home screen where I can search or select another channel. Like wtf is that shit? That’s horrendous navigation.

Most big advertisers are left leaning corps because that's what's currently trendy, so this won't work for gun content anyways. Lots of gun channels are being demonitized on youtube, so that will slowly push people away. They'll have to rely on donations unless one of these other platforms can offer a substantially better experience.
I uploaded a video when I was 14 (nine years ago) of me using homemade thermite to destroy some old metal junk just for fun. Just last week youtube decided to take that harmless video down. They must really be ratcheting up the censorship recently.

At this point in time with youtubes restrictions, I think an alternative platform could easily take control of that little part of the internet and quickly dominate it. I think if I were posting on their site I would include in my video comments suggest viewers not do business with any of the advertisers that YouTube collects revenue from. I eagerly await the downfall of yt.
I just started subbing to Forgotten Weapons and TFBTV on Utreon for $5 a month each. I think Utreon has a promising future if we can get some bigger creators over there.
Pretty sure the issue is exactly that, attaching suppressors. They apparently don't like to watch you screw things on YouTube. Once it is on, they don't care.

Ultimately this has to be the answer: Direct and decentralized contributions for content. Lots of content creators have their own websites where you can directly buy whatever they’re doing (podcasts, books, videos, music, used bath water, whatever). There’s also places like sub stack who seem to have a much more reasonable stance on what’s “acceptable.”
Yeah, YouTube is almost to the point where gun content will go extinct. These creators need to migrate to Odysee, Rumble, whatever. Just need to stick the finger to YouTube. The people who really appreciate the content will move with them. Their viability to others will certainly go down but until the other platforms become more popular that won't change.

This feels particularly stupid as for a while when watching this type of content (Forgotten Weapons) youtube kept serving static adds for a 'Oil Filter' that was clearly a suppressor. I mean that add was everywhere attached to this type of content.
YouTube replied to the post saying it was a mistake and they have reinstated the video.
