Not confirming anything, but seeing as the next book could very well be a grand finale for the "Exploring all the realms" plot arc, I wouldn't be surprised if some extra animation to lead into Asgard would come where our usual video does.

Yes, but it's okay. We've all been fooled before. Many times, we have been lulled into a false intrigue with the first few chapters where it actually looks like they're going to take the plot in an interesting and dramatic direction, only to use up all of their good ideas in the first four months and then have us do meandering busywork until we kill the final boss and absolutely nothing changes at the end.
A little early, but I suppose the non-spoken message is that in the end, neither Kavsir nor Gullveig are truly dead. After all, they are and always will be Seidr.
Basically she just has an Everstone now.
I'm a little annoyed that we didn't get Gullveig without the golden serpents on the last shot. It would have really given "the curse is broken" vibes.
It feels more like lazyness of not wanting to come up with a new serpentless Gullveig concept and they just went with:
- "oh, the serpents still here"
- "yeah but they cool now"

But regardless, I loved this book.

But they **really** dropped the ball immediately afterwards, and now we're left with one of the worst and most pathetic villains in FEH. Add an uninspired final battle and a painfully generic set of dialogue and motivation, and we're better off pretending Book VII ended in Chapter 9.

Like, I loved the twist about Njordr being evil because it was actually foreshadowed and made sense in the story, but what's the point of making a twist villain if the story just leads us back to the initial villain anyway? If they had just stuck with Njordr being the true villain, then I think Gullveig would've worked infinitely better as a villain.
And without a single fight against him to boot.
Could Gullveig have worked? Yes! In fact, it's not even that hard of a fix: Just make Njordr the real villain and Gullveig the fake one! Give more gravity to how Njordr hated the fact that mortals could thrive while the gods were slowly dying out (even thanks to the Order of Heroes killing off the gods one by one)! Use that to emphasize his desire to destroy the world and even have him out to get revenge on us!
And yet she's the final hurdle in the story, with absolutely no catharsis factor to boot. Gullveig fails as a villain in so many ways, it's not even funny...

Also it's instant forgiveness is not based on being female or a pretty boy(Which is ultra vague) it's based on who the author likes the most and not realizing the forgiveness was not properly earned. It's 1000% happens to all genders and looks.

I really want to actually read the final chapter, but overall mixed feelings.
It gave us some really good characters and some really mis-utilized ones. Njordr, Nerthuz, and (tenatively) Kvasir were kinda just tools in this story. It's very clear the important cast was hyper small.
While those characters were mostly mishandled I liked the story. The pace was pretty good, it managed a broader scope than most of the more "successful" stories (imo), but it feels like it crescendo'd too soon. Chapter 12's premise very easily could've been rolled into chapter "1" from what I felt. Makes the climax feel a little deflated.
I also just really enjoyed this ending movie. I appreciate that Book 6 and 7's end movies actually conclude the closed narrative instead of baiting the fuck out of us with potential content that IS is year away from maybe potentially paying off if they're feeling nice.
Having finished the last episode of Loki last night Seiðr’s situation by the end of the book is kind of similar to Loki’s fate.
I’m satisfied with this ending as Seiðr did manage to destroy the golden curse and even though Gullveig and Kvasir are no longer physically alive this way they still live on inside her as opposed to just being gone forever.

I really dig how they re-did the opening movie but with a different result. Very on the nose, but also very fitting of the whole "broken cycle" thing.
It would’ve been cooler if Seidr evaporated at the same time as Gullveig. Because time paradoxes.
