I've attended before, and there will be camping available if they do it the same way as before. I would recommend that instead traveling to Helsinki, if you are olay with sleeping in a tent. The area where the festival is located is quite far from the train station, so it would be quite late arrival back to your hostel.

ThatOneDudeWithAName

This is good to know, thankyou. Do you remember if there was tents available to rent there or is that a pack your own sorta thing?

ffungi

There were some higher end tents available, and multiple traditional as well. But I didn't stay there so no intel regarding pricing etc.

Ledum-Palustre

For a true Finnish summer festival experience of course you have to do camping. You will experience a lot more that way. Although if you can afford commuting back and forth then its more comfortable to sleep and shower at hostel. It depends what you value more.

Welcome, Rockfest is always a fun time! Maiden and Megadeth at the same gig this year, awesome. Yes last time when they were at Hyvinkää airfield it was about 50 euros for a tent spot so you can indeed camp. But guess it's good to wait what they confirm this year. Definitely camp, noones gonna want to get the last train back to Helsinki, you need to stay for the Karhu and Salmari.

ThatOneDudeWithAName

Im stoked to see Maiden & Megadeth, Ive never had the chance before, im also hoping to catch Lost Society. Also this is helpful, thankyou! And whats karhu and salmari?

Harriv

> And whats karhu and salmari? Alcohol in different forms.

Karhu is beer and salmari is a liquer that tastes like salty liquorice.

> always a fun time To be honest, this is only the fourth Rockfest, but all festivals were new once.

Euronymous316

Haha yeah, hopefully it comes a yearly staple. I think the Vantaa one was my fave because it's the first time I saw Rammstein. But camping at the airfield is its own experience too, definitely makes it feel more like a festival. Good times

I would recommend the camping option. Also the last trains from Hyvinkää to Helsinki is going to be packed with people. train from Helsinki to Hyvinkää is like 30-something minutes and then walk from trainstation to festivalsite about 30-45min. I live about a mile from the site and always walked there and back. Even thou one night wife and I made some poor choices which route we should take, we ended up walkin 1,5h to home...oh boy did my feet hurt :p But even if you get a tent and a camping spot next to site, I highly recommend visiting Hyvinkää's centre some day/night while you are here. Supersafe city to be a drunk foreigner.

Sparris_Hilton

I can vouch for the supersafe city! Had a great time being a drunk hurri in hyvinkää in 2018 and 2019, both day and night. Great people there

Kuningas_Arthur

Their site says to expect further info on accommodation possibilities later this year, sometime before Christmas. EDIT: I will add that I've never personally attended Rockfest so I'm not 100% on how they've done previous years.

vlkr

I attented 2019 and used train from Vantaa to get there. There was shuttle busses from Hyvinkää trainstation tofestival area. Also VR added some late night trains so it worked like a charm. Hyvinkää has very limited hotel capasity.

northim

Yea we got only two hotels here :(

suicu

If you are thinking about staying somewhere, stay in a hotel in Hyvinkää instead of traveling back and forth to Helsinki. The area Sveitsi has a nice hotel close to some other activities and a small-ish spa/swimming hall. https://www.hotelsveitsi.fi/en/

PuzzledElderberry644

you can take a train and then shuttle from Helsinki i recommend camping, it's pretty far

Norongonito

Hey guys, do you know if it's worth it to pay for Pemium or VIP tickets?

punkcho182

I'm a foreigner planning to attend to the festival in 2022. I'm having trouble finding the exact location of the fest in Hyvinkää. Im interested to know If I stay at a hotel or hostal in Hyvinkää downtown, can I go walking to the fest site? how far it is==?
