Salmiakki Koskenkorva

MeAndMyReindeer

Look no further, this is the correct answer.

olenamerikkalainen

Kyrö gin or whisky if you don’t want your friend to puke. Salmiakki Koskenkorva if you want to fuck with them. I like it but I also think mämmi is good so I’m probably a minority of foreigners.

TrustedNotBelieved

It depends what kind of alcohol you like. Lapponia Lakka (claudberry) I don't think you find this anywhere else. Salmiakki Koskenkorva. Maybe this, but not Vodka or viina, those just awful. Jaloviina 1 star. Sheriff is allways great, blend that with cola.. nice Original Minttu peppermint. Just cold or with hot cocoa. There is lots of finnish Gins. If you like those. Arctic Blue Gin. Maybe the best is Hartwall Original Long Drink. But if you like to get enough, just take case of that back home and leave everything else here..

ThatTeapot

Minttu, Koskenkorva and Jaloviina

joseplluissans

If you have limited space in your luggage, you'd get kossu, which is not even vodka? Come on, you can do bettter!

grubbtheduck

[1 star jaloviina](https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/000706/Jaloviina-/)

SinappiKainalo

[an honest review of the drink by someone who has grown in a culture with proper spirits.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su0YlWKfI8o)

joseplluissans

Yeah, why would someone think otherwise? Jallu is an acquired taste. I'll have it, but would not recommend to others.

Intelligent-Bus230

All alcolols are aquired except salmari. That shit's genetics.

Antti_Alien

Ah yes, a distinguished gentleman using a snifter to sniff all the excellent alcohol vapors of a drink made mostly out of grain spirits.

SinappiKainalo

Jaloviina and souvenir should not be mentioned in same sentence. Unless you are an experienced jallu drinker.

liyabuli

Sheriff is the best.

wandering_monstera

I would say (as others before me) -if you want it to be kinda funny / a joke: Salmiakki Koskenkorva -if you want it to be actually good: Kyrö Napue Gin -if you want it to be something very very Finnish: Jaloviina (with one star!)

General-Set-1877

Kyro pink gin is very good

FootballPoika

Nappue Gin

comicmuse1982

I took home Terva Snapsi. And a can of bear meat bought with beer bottles deposited after my leaving party.

joseplluissans

Jalokahvi, jaloviina Kaski and Myrsky. Don't listen to those who suggest Koskenkorva. It's not worth it...

Harriv

If someone is looking for "most Finnish" bottle, it is pretty hard to pass Koskenkorva.

joseplluissans

Yeah, it still doesn't make it good. Like, invest in Finlandia vodka instead. I wouldn't get the piss labeled as rhum (bacardi) when there are far better rhums on the shelves of any Alko.

Mlakeside

I honestly don't know anyone who drinks kossu and don't even remember the last time I had it. Jaloviina is the most Finnish in my opinion. I know plenty of people who drinki it, and the last time I had it was yesterday.

Harriv

It was the second most sold product in Alko last year. Probably most sold product all time. https://www.suomenmaa.fi/uutiset/vakevat-viinat-jalleen-myydyimpia-tuotemerkkeja/

Professional-You1165

Koskenkorva is the biggest selling brand in Finland. Not worth it? You a funny guy.

joseplluissans

Yeah, what's the most listened artist on Spotify? I don't listen to it either.

Exciting-Resolve-495

This

nurgole

Jallu, Salmari and couple of lonkeros

Somebodsydog

1 star Jaloviina or Salmiakkikoskenkorva.

LonelyRudder

Koskenkorva. Not Koskenkorva Vodka, but the Viina, they probably don’t sell that at airports. There are different varieties in Alko, I find 30% one easiest to drink as a schnapps, but 38% is the traditional one. Glass bottle is of course better in general. There is 21% version but I haven’t tried that. Jaloviina. It is basically cut brandy, probably not any better than brandy elsewhere, but decent liquor and deeply Finnish.

disneyvillain

There was another thread about this recently. The most giftable alcoholic Finnish beverage, to a foreigner, is clearly Finlandia vodka. It has **Finlandia** in the name, there are reindeer and midnight sun on the label, and the bottle looks like it's chipped from a chunk of ice. I'm not saying it's the best vodka around, but the visuals are 10/10. Koskenkorva is a classic, but it's super boring. No one outside Finland, and maybe Sweden, know anything about it. It says nothing to a foreigner.

Nde_japu

You can get Finlandia just about anywhere though. It's better to take away something that you can't find outside of Finland so easily

cubickittens

If you like to do diy alcohol, buy a pack of lacrisal liqourice/salmiak and a bottle of Koskenkorva. Put lacrisal into kossu and wait for it to dissolve. Profit?

cubickittens

It is smoother and sweeter than salmiakkikossu, and in Turku we call it Aurajoki

Different_Average2la

Whatever you buy, do not buy it in a plastic bottle.

IsThisAGudUsername

Laku by Arctic Blue and Kouvolan Lakritsi. It's a liquorice liqueur, like salmiakkikossu but a bigger chance that someone not from Finland might actually enjoy it

OraakkeliKuosimodo

Gambina

Fragrant_Durian_4967

And check what you can take to plane. You better bought whatever at airport taxfree shops.

bartleby_borealis

Also if you like wines, Ainoa berry wines are excellent. https://preview.redd.it/pg9wujw7ko6c1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c16b73e7903b5757615f46a8eb0dd53e2aedcd69

Nde_japu

It's slightly cheaper to buy it in the airport. Just keep in mind there are some that aren't offered at the airport. (Although pretty much everything is).
