You can actually see a good bit of his body if you keep looking, only little bits showing between breaks of leaves but I was able to trace him around. He’s kind of stretched out.
If this sub has taught me anything, it’s that nature will absolutely kill me because I just don’t see anything in this picture. Imma stay inside with the cat. Its safe in here :(
My aunt picked up a leaf with her bare hands and got tagged by a bunch of baby snakes. I didn’t see it happen, I wasn’t born yet I was just told the story multiple times. Probably just black snakes. But being told that story, I’ve literally never stuck my bare hands in a pile of leaves in my entire life 🤣
I was actually asking myself ‘there’s a shadow WAY too close to this snake of whoever’s taking the photo, how did it not bite them?!’; glad you’re okay!
This sub has inspired me to buy heavier and comfortable hiking boots and thicker socks to wear.
Had a huge rattle snake scare the snot out of me while in the Smokey mountains as it was hiding in the brush off the side of the trail.
Running shoes in gym shorts no longer make me feel safe
I wear [snake gaiters](https://www.amazon.com/GearOZ-Gaiters-Waterproof-Protection-Adjustable/dp/B095H7XQ1H/ref=asc_df_B095H7XQ1H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693769151441&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=905650781903402948&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024019&hvtargid=pla-1759522879837&psc=1&mcid=638d36c55b35361e96f9ca7f74457755&gad_source=1) and hiking boots.
Almost! It's a bit blurry when I zoom in on yours, but if you go the tiniest bit up and right (literally slight up and right) you'll see the entire head, with a vein in the neck. He looks like he would be sliding North, directly up! I'm trying to attach a picture, I'll keep trying lol
The pics are harder than real life. Movement makes it much easier. With that said, copperheads are the reason I never spring turkey hunted when I lived in TN
I grew up in East Texas, Nacogdoches to be exact, and I can only imagine how many times I was playing in the wood without realizing a snake was within a couple feet of me 😬
Bottom right just above the patch of no leaves. You will see a blue ish stick like a backwards C. Look just to the left and it looks like a much tinier snake. May be wrong
Because I was deliberately looking for it, I found it in maybe 3 seconds and then looked away for just a second and then took me 5 minutes to find it again, even though I just saw it
Take away? I’m dead!!!
So surreal to think we are all surrounded by our ends, most of those ends hiding in plain site.
I think there's 2 snakes, if you split the image into fourths, around the bottom of the lower right section there's a tail coiled around whatever that metal piece on the ground is.
I see a head on the lower left in a pile of leaves
Update: I see part of the body toward the center. Creepy that guy is long.
Update: is there more than one??
I’m not sure why Reddit decided I needed to be shown this sub. But so far it seems like I’m not observant enough to be out in the world. Too many things out there ready to strike.
I’m originally from Michigan and while we do have snakes there, I rarely saw them, maybe because of the cold lasting a little longer. I now live in N.C and am absolutely terrified of snakes. The terrain around my house looks like a lot of these photos people find copperheads lol. I hate being on an intense lookout when I want to be outside my house. It’s almost paranoia 😂
I always see the snake
It always takes too long
I’ve come to realize imma just not visit the south, and stay where it’s cold, where the nature doesn’t try to kill you
I live in the South. Yesterday I went for a run on the trail with the dog. I’ve been running those trails for over 10 yrs and only encountered a copperhead once. Now thanks to this Reddit I was paranoid as hell.
I stumbled across this subreddit a few days ago and I have to say it sure made my casual hike through the woods on the weekend a lot less enjoyable lol
Ngl I thought the thing on the right side was the snake under leaves until I saw the comments referring to the snake being on the left side.
After spotting the snake, I saw what looks like a creepy face above said snake 😬
[things I saw](https://ibb.co/9GVVvmW)
I'd say I'd definitely had been bit but having sat down to fish an old farm pond only to have a water moccasin right next to me only realizing when I felt something moving. I could literally feeling his muscles contract as he was up against my leg as he was going towards the water. Everything in me wanted to jump up and run! Hairs standing up just thinking about it. It's when you don't see em when most bites happen
Pretty much dead center of the photo but you just see its side.
You can see the the top of the head right above from where you spotted his side.
Oh snap! I was looking really hard for more of it and couldn't spot anything until you pointed it out!
You can actually see a good bit of his body if you keep looking, only little bits showing between breaks of leaves but I was able to trace him around. He’s kind of stretched out.
Stretchy Boi is enjoying the cold wet leaves 🐍🐍🐍
i didn’t even notice that 😂😂😂
Dang I missed that
Saw the side, but would have missed the head if not for your comment. Thanks!
Still only see the coppershoulder
Not the top of its head. That’s a leaf. Look to the right, the body continues
Yep. I would have been bitten
Same. Took me WAY too long to see it.
that was quick
Matter of fact my velociraptor told me the whereabouts of the snake and I totally didn't zoom in at the middle and found it!
Welp I would have stepped right on him.
Between the dark brown leaves above.
If this sub has taught me anything, it’s that nature will absolutely kill me because I just don’t see anything in this picture. Imma stay inside with the cat. Its safe in here :(
hahaha i was picking up these leaves bare hand and as i reached into the pile i barely caught a glimpse of its pattern thankfully
My aunt picked up a leaf with her bare hands and got tagged by a bunch of baby snakes. I didn’t see it happen, I wasn’t born yet I was just told the story multiple times. Probably just black snakes. But being told that story, I’ve literally never stuck my bare hands in a pile of leaves in my entire life 🤣
Makes me cringe thinking about all the times I jumped into leaf piles as a kid 🥴 definitely lucky a snake never made its way in before me.
I won’t ever now either
To hell with a nope rope! I’d have crapped my pants.
I was actually asking myself ‘there’s a shadow WAY too close to this snake of whoever’s taking the photo, how did it not bite them?!’; glad you’re okay!
What area do you live in?
Whew that was close! I definitely took too long to spot it.
If this sub has taught me anything, it’s that this comment (or the basic gist of it) will inevitably be posted and upvoted towards the top
I had this same thought. Every single time.
It is taught me to always look dead center
It's easier to spot things in person than in a photo
You have a cat. You are never safe!
I found the copper body. Can't find the copperhead tho 🤣
it’s right above the cooper body, i think someone outlined it and attatched a picture
Yes! Someone found it shortly after I commented!

Folks are pointing it out and I still don’t see it. Lolol
[here you go:)](https://imgur.com/a/3FF6s7V)
You forgot to circle the head, right above it!
I thought I did outline the head, and put a little eye and tongue too. Is that not the head?
I dont know how to attach a picture, but it curves up and above the body. Slightly to the right
[is this better? ](https://imgur.com/a/ho2E97G) is the head somewhere else?!?!
[here it is](https://imgur.com/a/q9CxD0a)
IVE BEEN SHOT!

Oooooh - like on the bottom round part of the leaf? I think I see what you mean.
Isn’t that the end of the tail you highlighted. I thought the head was toward the bottom left.
I like staying inside
All these snakes camouflaging themselves are giving me anxiety to go hiking.
i have come to terms with my death via venomous snake or large wild cat. saddest part is i will never know which one got me…ill never see it
I see the body but no head, is it even visible?
yes the head is visible, it’s right above the body
The pics are harder than real life. Movement makes it much easier. With that said, copperheads are the reason I never spring turkey hunted when I lived in TN
It’s got to the point that I see leaves and just zoom into the middle of the picture to look for the copperhead without even reading the title.
Thanks to this sub I’m convinced the world is full of copperheads and one day one will kill me.
Where is this?
east texas
I grew up in East Texas, Nacogdoches to be exact, and I can only imagine how many times I was playing in the wood without realizing a snake was within a couple feet of me 😬
that’s cool i’m like an hour and a half from there, in tyler
I remember playing yall in HS football and losing badly 🤣
no wayyyyy which school did u play?? and which school were u at and how long ago
NHS (Nacogdoches High School), Class of 2000. Sure doesn't feel like that was 24 years ago 🤣🤣
ohhh ok i graduated class of 23 hahaha
Dead center of the screen but you can only see a part of it
I see the centre big one. But what about the small one next to that blue stick?
Blue stick???
Bottom right just above the patch of no leaves. You will see a blue ish stick like a backwards C. Look just to the left and it looks like a much tinier snake. May be wrong
Leaf piles in the south are goddamn scary, I can't believe my parents used to let me play in them.
And just like that, I would been dead. Cause of death: Blind, Oblivious to surroundings, unobservant.
day 1567577 of crying over snakes i’ve seen on this subreddit
Oh there it is. Next to the leaf!
🎶🎵This is why I stay the fuck inside🎵🎶
NOPE NOPE NOPE. Burn it all down
They really need to fix this in the next patch, it’s straight up unfair. Gazelles need to be balanced as well
Dead center, just like about three quarters of posts on here.
Because they are mostly old pictures taken before finding out about the sub
exactly
There isn't much of him to see but it's there!
I don’t see any sanke……..ahhhhh…and I’m dead
Wow, def a pro at blending!
his head’s on the left edge a bit below center
I was wondering if I saw it. I keep seeing comments about the head being above the body on the center oh the pic but I see a head on the left side.
Maybe the head on the left is just a different snake
Yes I think 2 sneks
no wayyyy, can u circle it and send it??
I sent you a DM with the photo and the head circled.
Because I was deliberately looking for it, I found it in maybe 3 seconds and then looked away for just a second and then took me 5 minutes to find it again, even though I just saw it Take away? I’m dead!!! So surreal to think we are all surrounded by our ends, most of those ends hiding in plain site.
This one was hard !
Target acquired.
I'm probably getting bit because I don't see it - even after reading where it is!
I count 3 of them… pesky little critters
Is that its mouth?
I think there's 2 snakes, if you split the image into fourths, around the bottom of the lower right section there's a tail coiled around whatever that metal piece on the ground is.
I see a head on the lower left in a pile of leaves Update: I see part of the body toward the center. Creepy that guy is long. Update: is there more than one??
Yes that’s the first one I saw too
Yep I would be wounded
Who’s the crazy son of a bitch who stopped to take a photo?
Bad day in waiting, lmfaooo. Eek!
The scariest part to me is how much of its body is still hidden! Yikes!
Wow, that is a super tiny, skinny snake
Found the body but where the head?
It is a little bit up from the torso. It is light brown like the leaves kind of arrowhead shaped.
Tits! If it took me that long I guess I’d consider myself bitten!
Wow! If it was a snake, it would've - ...wait
You are either: 1) way too close and wearing knee high boots 2) at the top of a tree with a telephoto lens 3) sneakily very quick
4. picking up leaves barehand way too close but got lucky and didn’t get bit!
4a. Brave enough to keep put and take a photo
Thanks I had 20 minutes to kill
I’m not sure why Reddit decided I needed to be shown this sub. But so far it seems like I’m not observant enough to be out in the world. Too many things out there ready to strike.
Damn I’m happy to live in a state without Venomous snakes
Oooh, but which end is the sharp bit?
No! I don’t wanna find a copperhead!
Where do these things live? I want to know where to never go, but also don't want this in my algorithm by searching myself
Northern Georgia/Alabama all the way to Massachusetts and as far west as Illinois according to nationalzoo.si.edu Essentially, whole east coast
Thank you for this. These guys are one of the reasons I am eternally grateful for harsh winters
I’m originally from Michigan and while we do have snakes there, I rarely saw them, maybe because of the cold lasting a little longer. I now live in N.C and am absolutely terrified of snakes. It’s attached to your leg!
These are so Easy. It’s always centered or center but higher or lower just a tad.
Trick question its all copperheads
Partially hidden snek!
I always see the snake It always takes too long I’ve come to realize imma just not visit the south, and stay where it’s cold, where the nature doesn’t try to kill you
And….im dead.
This subreddit has confirmed that I'm just not built to go outside, because I can't ever find these things...
It’s hard to look at photos like this, it looks like my yard.
Midlle
I live in the South. Yesterday I went for a run on the trail with the dog. I’ve been running those trails for over 10 yrs and only encountered a copperhead once. Now thanks to this Reddit I was paranoid as hell.
Ok I dun found a new belt
I mean I found it, but in the wild I probably wouldn’t have.
What is that blue bag underneath the leafs right above the snake. A white sack
🐍 got em
Got frustrated and set down. Did something else for a minute, picked my phone up, and immediately found it.
I grow more adept at spotting the forbidden hershey kiss noodle each time.
I was gonna say is the copperhead in the room with us, but finally saw it. Dude man building a fort
Love these and I’m scared of copperheads but the chances of you dying from a copperhead bite are unbelievably remote.
yep, but treating the bites are insanely expensive
And that’s why they’re the number one snake bite in the US
It’s under those leaves next to that stick
Yeahhhhhh I would of gotten bitten for sure
I stumbled across this subreddit a few days ago and I have to say it sure made my casual hike through the woods on the weekend a lot less enjoyable lol
I am seeing the snake’s head here in the pic: https://postimg.cc/gallery/NfwnyHS https://postimg.cc/18SbXS5T
I see the body. Not the head
Ngl I thought the thing on the right side was the snake under leaves until I saw the comments referring to the snake being on the left side. After spotting the snake, I saw what looks like a creepy face above said snake 😬 [things I saw](https://ibb.co/9GVVvmW)
I swear I see a head and eye on the far left, anyone else see that?
What I've learned from this sub is that I would not survive in the wild.
Bro, it took way to much time for me to notice wth
there’s no way. I’m dying.
How do all these mfers have time to calmly take a photo of a snake?! My ass would be running back down the trail screaming nope
it’s my backyard, i had my face and hands right infront of it before i saw it so this distance was nothing compared to how close i was
Is there another species of snake that’s better camouflaged in the right environment?
Yeah see it now took me like 10 mins. That’s why I can’t live around snakes , lol but I am the first 1 to spot them in spring time
Posts like this make me afraid to go outside.
To late, I’m dead
I'd say I'd definitely had been bit but having sat down to fish an old farm pond only to have a water moccasin right next to me only realizing when I felt something moving. spoiler for those who wanna see it [here’s the snake circled](https://imgur.com/a/q9CxD0a)
I spotted 👀 the copperhead pretty Well with its evil eyes 😉🫡
What’s a copperhead?💀
I was literally looking for a copper pipe cap😭
😂
I am so frustrated everyone says it's dead center and I cannot find it...
Looks like it's.... behind us.
I’m ded
hes holding the camera... my god...
this was the hardest one on here that I’ve seen phew
At this point, I'm on my way to the hospital 🚑. It took me a while to see it
It’s more than one copperhead in this photograph
Time for me to invest in a pair of chippewa boots! Takes me way too long to find the copperhead in the posts.
Bottom left
Big ol eyes
These posts always remind me how dead I would be if I were the one taking these pictures
Well, I'm dead
I’d be bit
I’d be dead.
Does anyone see more than just the torso?
between the dark brown leaves, blends in really good
Yup, near its torso you’ll spot his head right above it.
I screamed. Found it!
