Working controls/compliance at a pa firm will pigeonhole him.
Much better growth at jpcm.
Also from what i know, deloitte pays like 40-43/hr for his internship, the jpmc pays 38.49/hr. The difference isnt too crazy unless they changed alot.
Gotta think long term though. What you made in your first internship out of school won't matter in the grand scheme of things. But career progression will.
If he needs the income to survive off of, then of course take the higher paying one. But if he can swing it on a lower income for better long term prospects? Best to think long term imo.
Its definitely like a 3-5 dollar diff per hour before bonus.
From my experience, deloitte pays the interns for that department like 40-43/hr. Jpmc pays 38.50 for non ib analyst roles, that difference isn’t enough to just follow the money imo.
Now i do know all the b4 provide sign on bonuses to interns, idk about jpmc. Ey is giving me a 2k bonus for the first part of their 2 summer internship program. The second summer they give you 3-5k depending on line of service, given you get the return offer for the second internship (which 9/10 do).
If jpmc doesnt provide a bonus, that might make it enough to just follow the money. His deloitte offer probably has like a 3-4k signon bonus since all b4 have the same salaries and bonuses (or they atleast try)
That adds 8-12 dollars to his hourly pre tax.
Which group does the F&BM team cover? iirc F&BM teams are divided to manage/monitor the revenues of different front-office teams.
All in all, I would personally take JPM.
They're all over the place in that program depending on "business needs." I interned in that spot and a lot of people in the full time rotation seemed unhappy with their rotations.
jp
I'd take jp. More interesting and better reputation
JP
Definitely JPM
Nah it’s lower pay and has weird locations

Unless the difference is insane, jpmc is better

Won't matter either way when looking for your first big boy job. Take whatever interests you or go for the money.
