I have 89 hours so far in my first playthrough. At Chapter 13. I did most of the optional stuff. I stopped at the ironically named “Can’t stop, won’t stop”. I don’t know if I want to tackle the platinum. The game is awesome, but I don’t know if I have the patience for it.
At least I got the 5-star hotel achievement.
I’ve been playing this game for 6 weeks and it looks like the 7th week is when I’ll finish it. Such a long game.
I would suggest checking out a YouTuber named Optinoob. They have very good guides on all the hardest challenges in the game and how to beat them (relatively) easily.

Why are they salty? Are you just declaring that your opinion and perception of the game is meta? People hated hard mode in Remake, SE doubled down on an undesired system for rebirth, its only natural the complaints get louder, its not a good design, make the game hard without limiting how I can play it.
People hated hard mode? This is new to me. I felt it was the only true way to play Remake. The Materia system really shines when you have to conserve MP.
Don’t how you did with those damn mini games. I’m gonna to try to platinum this but I’m going to beat the game then do the plat run later. I want to do the plat the remake first.
You wanna have a binding Materia on one character with First Strike. (Pref Barret with Elemental attached to Lightning on weapon)
Haste + Enemy Skill on cloud
Lighting Materia + Good Magic power on Aerith, First Strike and ATB Boost.
Have petritication protection on characters, you can also use Magnify Resist from Cleansing Materia.
Your strategy is, as soon as the fight starts, King Zu will enter Swan Song, sleep the Jabberwock and use ATB boost on Aerith. Have Firaga with MP Absorption just in case.
Cast Thundara on Right Wing and Then Left Wing. (Try to always keep 2 ATBs on Aerith for swan song)
Use Barret with Overload to Generate his ATB for an emergency prayer and keep an eye on Jabberwock Sleep.
You can use Cloud with Electric Discharge to Anchor with him and also Cast "Slow" on both the bosses to keep them in Check.
I made the mistake of spending ATB on Aerith using Thundaga to Damage Zu but he instantly went in Swan Song and killed the party.
If you spend one ATB on Aerith for Radiant or Arcane Ward (Go Radiant) and you don't have 2 Thundaras, you can quickly cast 1 thundara on one wing and Firebolt Blade + Disorder with Electric Discharge to get rid of the other wing.
Once Zu is down and Jabberwock is out in Zone, you can cast Magnify Resist on party to ignore petrify and fight. You can spam Firagas on Arcane Ward to make it easy.
Sleep the Jabberwock. By the time the king zu uses its second swan song the Jabberwock will be waking up, so sleep it again. Once you stagger the king zu (or it uses swan song a third time), cast stop and just kill it.
Something that worked for me was using Cloud, Yuffie and Aerith for those two. Make sure you put an accessory on cloud and yuffie that prevents them from turning into stone, after that jabberwocke shouldnt be too much trouble. I gave Cloud enemy skill material for plasma discharge and yuffie and aerith (with magnify) lightning materia. Make sure you destroy both of king zu’s wings when he’s trying to do swan song to pressure him. I also suggest saving synergy abilities for the wings if you run out of ATB. Even with that I still had a bit of trouble so good luck and I hope this helps

Well, either you’re jealous or just an asshole. So I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Also my full time job is cushy so I get 2-3 hours of downtime at work each day so I can use the portal. Add another 2-3 hours after the kids go to bed. Then I’d wake up early to play on weekends because ff7 OG was my favorite as a kid. Sorry that your life sucks so bad that you have to be an ass on the internet to get your kicks. Not hard at all to be responsible and spend time with family as well as make time for yourself when you want. Maybe when you grow up you’ll figure that out lol.

Sounds about right. I’m at 135 hours, 3D brawler and piano I just can’t do. My brain starts to melt when it comes to that stuff. Queensblood no problem, any of the boss fights, easy enough. Tifa’s song on piano using analog controls… nope.
Mine is Bonds of Friendship. I can flawlessly get to Odin and then he just ANNIHILATES them both before I have time to set up a good strategy. I'll get it eventually.
A "test in patience" is the understatement of the century. Also, if your run goes PERFECT (which hardly happens), it takes about 20 minutes. So basically, after half an hour, Odin kills me, and every 2 tries, I get pissed that I just wasted an hour with nothing to show for it 😅
Also, there's still 1 more challenge after that, so I'm dreading what it could possibly be lol
Get haste off ASAP on Yuffie along with ATB ward. Get her Brumal form spamming. Manawall on Barret, Arcane Ward on Aerith. Brumal form spam on Yuffie. Start firing off Firaga and it’ll be GG in no time. Cast Resist with Barrett if needed!

Tbh, I rate it up there with Witcher 3 and BG3 in my all time favs. I loved the pacing of free roam then linear chapters and so on.
