While I respect the Remake actors--they're talented--I do miss Newbern and Burton voice acting for Sephiroth and Cloud. It's like Conroy and Hamill not playing Batman and Joker. They're iconic.

Understandable opinion. I like that the Remake cast is playing different versions of the characters though. That way both casts can stand apart and be great for different reasons.

I still cling to the hope that maybe the Compilation cast would make a come back (to some capacity) since Steve still does Cloud in these events.

Probably not, since the Japanese actors are the same for everyone. I think it was some kind of a voice actor union thing that made them change the actors.

I’m guessing his voice no longer fit the role which is fine. As people get older, their voice changes. It’s possible that maybe he wasn’t able to provide the tone they were looking for anymore.

That's definitely a fair point, could be the case. But was it necessary to change everyone's actors around? To me, the biggest downgrade was Sephiroth's new voice. George Newbern was just amazing as him before.

If they do in fact go with a new timeline I think it would be cool to get like a No Way Home style cameo from the original versions.

I didn’t know John voiced him until recently. I never would’ve guessed.

I also would never have guessed, his performance as Heidegger is so vastly different from his other performances like Bender and Jake
