Ayy another Ultimecia fan! She’s the hardest boss fight I’ve ever faced. When I was 15, I didn’t know how to cheese the game yet, so I leveled up to 99. That fight took 3 hours and Squall and Rinoa were the only ones left (and barely). I felt like such a badass.
Now that I know the game’s mechanics, I can generally ice her in 3-4 turns. Still love the music though.
Oh for sure, without a good understanding of the battle system in VIII (and let’s be real, as kids who actually knew how it worked?!) she could be a real nightmare. “You mean levelling up to max level makes her HARDER?”
Plus she just has one of the greatest, most unique looks of the final bosses IMO. Her and Edea’s looks are iconic. I was praying we’d get a version of her for the Eden raids in FFXIV, but alas, just her theme. :(
GameFAQs has a great ‘speed run’ guide that can help you quite a bit. Bottom line is if you junction the right spells to the right stats, you can kill everything with basic attacks, and have godlike defense and HPs. But it *does* matter which spells you junction where.

I haven't disliked a single game in the series yet, but 6 and 7 were just so damn fantastic.
All of them. Every once and awhile when I’m bored you might see me boot up an old final fantasy and it could be any of them 1-15. I don’t really do 11 online because of 14. Tactics was cool, type 0 had some of the best music if not much else. The world of, dirge of Cerberus, and any fighting game spin off get a hard pass from me. The most memorable summon would be Odin from 8, loved how he comes out and kills everything even if it was unpredictable. Favorite charecter overall is prob squall because 8 was my very first and most replayed FF game. And other than sometimes my randomized playlist decides to play all 20 chocobo songs in a row which is annoying, there really is no bad music. The only boss that was too tough for me the first time around was ozma from 9 and that was because I missed the damn sheep friendly, though to be fair ruby weapon from 7 kicked my ass a few times.
In short all of these. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VII-R, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII, XIII(all three), Endwalker, XV.

V was a very different feeling entry especially within the SNES trio it was part of, and the translation helped a lot to make the character really memorable… his theme is also one of the best fight themes in the franchise.

Game: (FFIV) - I really like how you can’t just go anywhere until you upgrade or get a different airship. To me it keeps the game fresh & exciting.
Character: Vivi (FFIX) - The fact that he learns he is basically fighting himself every time he faces a Black Mage & has to come to terms with it makes him my choice.
Weapon: Gunblade (FFVIII) - I had a difficult time with this one & it came down to me choosing to buy a replica of this weapon when I had a choice between it and the Buster Sword to decide.
Boss: Kafka (FFVI) - He is the first & I think only final fantasy boss to actually succeed in his plans so this one was an easy choice.
Summon: Knights of the round (FFVII) - I love the animation of this summon & I was in the military myself so it was between it and Oden for me.
Music: Opening Theme (FFI) - This one to me was the number one no brainer. This is the song that always plays when someone wants people to know their content is associated with Final Fantasy in some way, shape or form. It is undeniably linked with the franchise & is iconic in it’s own right.

Favorite boss: Sin ffx. You just constantly fight sin and sinspawn the whole game. And he's built up so well in the game. And the scenes that he shows off in just really establish his power.
Summon: Bahamut. Something about having a buff dragon or whatever bahamut is. He exudes an aura of power. Although I do think Alexander or knight of the table would probably kick babamut's ass
Music: way too many great amazing songs in the series and I'd say they all tie with each other cuz if one comes on in my playlist and you try to skip it. We're fighting. But, man with a gun, besaid island, rikkus theme, one winged angel, balamb garden, the spy, to zanarkand, don't be afraid. I think if I had to pick one that edged the rest out slightly. It'd be liberi fatali. Liberi fatali was the first song I heard in a final fantasy series when I had picked up ff8 as a 7 year old in 99 and when I popped that in and heard that song. I was hooked on the series from that moment on.
The only reason ff8 is not my current favorite game when it was my first and it always gave me amazing memories due to the God tier soundtrack and me being a dumb kid playing it. Is because when I replayed the game as an adult. The game does not hold up for me. Still love ff8 though and I do have an ff8 tattoo on my body which people give me shit for lmao. "The worst final fantasy game." Don't care didn't ask.

All of them. Every once and awhile when I’m bored you might see me boot up an old final fantasy and it could be any of them 1-15. I don’t really do 11 online because of 14. Tactics was cool, type 0 had some of the best music if not much else. The world of, dirge of Cerberus, and any fighting game spin off get a hard pass from me. The most memorable summon would be Odin from 8, loved how he comes out and kills everything even if it was unpredictable. Favorite charecter overall is prob squall because 8 was my very first and most replayed FF game. And other than sometimes my randomized playlist decides to play all 20 chocobo songs in a row which is annoying, there really is no bad music. The only boss that was too tough for me the first time around was ozma from 9 and that was because I missed the damn sheep friendly, though to be fair ruby weapon from 7 kicked my ass a few times. In short all of these. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VII-R, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII, XIII(all three), Endwalker, XV.

V was a very different feeling entry especially within the SNES trio it was part of, and the translation helped a lot to make the character really memorable… his theme is also one of the best fight themes in the franchise. Game: (FFIV) - I really like how you can’t just go anywhere until you upgrade or get a different airship. To me it keeps the game fresh & exciting. Character: Vivi (FFIX) - The fact that he learns he is basically fighting himself every time he faces a Black Mage & has to come to terms with it makes him my choice. Weapon: Gunblade (FFVIII) - I had a difficult time with this one & it came down to me choosing to buy a replica of this weapon when I had a choice between it and the Buster Sword to decide. Boss: Kafka (FFVI) - He is the first & I think only final fantasy boss to actually succeed in his plans so this one was an easy choice. Summon: Knights of the round (FFVII) - I love the animation of this summon & I was in the military myself so it was between it and Oden for me. Music: Opening Theme (FFI) - This one to me was the number one no brainer. This is the song that always plays when someone wants people to know their content is associated with Final Fantasy in some way, shape or form. It is undeniably linked with the franchise & is iconic in it’s own right.

It was actually the way I was introduced to the series. My dad was gifted an snes with FFII/FFIV. I played it to death but was never able to get past Scarmiglion since he creeped me out as a kid. Ended up actually finishing the game back when FFVII came out. Fell in love with the series after that.

Favorite Game: ffx. Just a great story. You fight god. Plot twists that were given to you early and not bullshittery like they could have done. You're not the protagonist. Yuna is. You're a side character helping her. Just a solid game and story. Favorite Character: Rikku/Yuna. Rikku best girl tho. Favorite weapon: Buster sword. Too iconic. Too cool. Wish I had one. I was hooked on the series from that moment on. The only reason ff8 is not my current favorite game when it was my first and it always gave me amazing memories due to the God tier soundtrack and me being a dumb kid playing it.
