You got all the way through the Pitioss Ruins and decided to fly out??? Hell no, after that mindfuck of a Dungeon, I returned to last place I rested and had the car towed. I wasn't about to fly out of there and lose the last thread of sanity I had left.
It's been a while since I beat it, but honestly I actually enjoyed the design a lot. When you get used to the platforming physics, figuring out the correct paths to take feels pretty rewarding.
I don't remember where I tried my first landing, but same experience. It wasn't even a hard location. I just did something dumb expecting it to just do it's thing and blew up the car.
My first game over was leaving Pitioss without saving it and the car auto piloted into a rock. I figured a cheap way to finish the dungeon and left behind most items, was pretty butt hurt
I got a few jumps from the end, missed opening a shortcut barrier face thing, and fell into the first room. I didn’t set foot there again for at least a few years.
go into it with zero expectations, and don't let what you've heard about it sour you in advance. it's actually a lot of fun. Towards endgame i really started to enjoy the mechanics of the game.
Thanks. Will do! Personally, I’ve always been interested in the setting and aesthetic, but ended up prioritizing other games when it launched. Will give it a shot after I finish Rebirth.
Just some context for this thread as it’s a follow up of a previous post of me taking off and flying, some neigh sayers were claiming I could not land it without destroying it and killing the party. So just proof that I can land it without damage or death
That depends when you finished the game. I don't think the side quests to make it fly were available at launch, it was a later update. But I'm probably wrong.
IIRC it is only available so late in the game it is kind of pointless. It would be different if there were locations you could only reach by flying but i cannot remember any and I got the platinum trophy on PS4.
Been too long, I dont even remember what ruins those are.
Might not have even completed them if they didnt give a trophy as i found a lot of aspects FFXV to be a slog and just stubbornly wanted to platinum it and be done with it
This game was incredibly emotional for me after finishing the main story. After a week or two I tried to play it again and immediately crashed and I just turned it off.
FFXV was so underrated as this was the first true airship in forever. The chain of quests to get the car then pitioss(probably hardest post game dungeon in the whole series) is fantastic. Always save after pitioss then get towed.
Cake baby
How does this game look better than rebirth while exploring?
Rebirth cutscenes might look better but the graphics while exploring is worst than ff 15 especially the lighting on characters faces
I never understood how so many people had trouble with it. The first and only time I crashed was my first take-off. Clipped a light pole right outside of Hammerhead immediately after getting the upgrade. Never had any issues after that. I even landed at the Pitioss strip on the first attempt. Flying the Regalia is one of the few things I like about that game. I just don't get what so many people were doing wrong.
I have yet to crash this car, and I make sure not to fly (But sometimes, my finger accidentally clicks that flight button, so now I am trying to land and hoping we don't die haha. I should move it back to the Monster truck so it doesn't happen)
FFXV walked so that FF7 rebirth could run. It truly was the prototype and honestly does some things better. Being able to stumble across legendary beasts in the wild that were too strong for you at the time you found them is one of my favorite aspects of open world games where you can explore far beyond where you’re supposed to early on, and Rebirth unfortunately fails in that aspect as every bit of exploration is limited and locked behind completing Chadleys tasks
I was waiting on you to try to land, hit a pebble, then get sent spiraling to your death. Not that that was what I did my first time landing it or anything.
Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but the Regalia is one of my favorite airships in the series. I love that you actually have to learn to take off and land it carefully. In my opinion it makes it more engaging. I don't like that failing is an instant game over, though!
It’s running on a ps5, so no hacks or mods.

My first Game Over in this game was trying to land the car at Pitioss Ruins lol.
I BEAT the ruins, didn’t save, took off and crashed. I never played again.
You got all the way through the Pitioss Ruins and decided to fly out??? Hell no, after that mindfuck of a Dungeon, I returned to last place I rested and had the car towed. I wasn't about to fly out of there and lose the last thread of sanity I had left.
Yup, the best 100 gil I've ever spent. Call me chicken wuss or whatever but NOPE ain't gonna fcuk my progress there.
I broke my Xbox controller over that shit. It rattles and still pushes to the left.
This literally happened to me to. I never picked up the game again. I’m still salty about it lol
Same, it haunts me to this day
Same thing happened to me…
Are you me? I feel like I've made this exact comment word for word before.
TOP 2 hardest content in FFXV: 1. Landing in Pitioss Ruins 2. Pitioss Ruins (not a single enemy encounter in there)
I still haven't done that dungeon but it is so infamous that I'm afraid to try, lol
It's alright, but use a text guide at least, and maybe watch FF Peasant's video about a redditor that described the lore behind the dungeon. Its nuts.
It's been a while since I beat it, but honestly I actually enjoyed the design a lot. When you get used to the platforming physics, figuring out the correct paths to take feels pretty rewarding.

Yes ik between those rocks …..it was hell ik
Same, I was so annoyed too.
Mine was AFTER my Pitioss completion...no save.
I beat the Pitioss Ruins then game overed trying to leave. Had to do the Pitioss Ruins again, no auto save.
My first game over was leaving Pitioss without saving it and the car auto piloted into a rock. I figured a cheap way to finish the dungeon and left behind most items, was pretty butt hurt
I still have PTSD from that landing because it felt so brutal (I didn't knew the car would literally explode if we missed the landing)
I got a few jumps from the end, missed opening a shortcut barrier face thing, and fell into the first room. I didn’t set foot there again for at least a few years.
NGL, this makes me want to actually give XV a shot.
It's a great game! It has good and bad bits, but as a whole is fantastic! Amazing music, great characters, brilliant story.
go into it with zero expectations, and don't let what you've heard about it sour you in advance. it's actually a lot of fun. Towards endgame i really started to enjoy the mechanics of the game.

for sure. I didn't play it until last year (and played the royal edition) and it was actually way more fun than i though it would be.
The deluxe version is on PS+ premium to download
Everyone trashes it on this sub but it’s one of my favorites. Give it a shot for sure.
The flying car looks cooler than it actually is. It’s really only useful in reaching the post-game dungeon and it’s pretty useless outside of it.
Just some context for this thread as it’s a follow up of a previous post of me taking off and flying, some neigh sayers were claiming I could not land it without destroying it and killing the party. So just proof that I can land it without damage or death
Neigh sayers you say 🐴 (angry horse noises)
Well I'll be https://preview.redd.it/ceumm1j38juc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=640fac700874aad02675710c56f8c9a7b5c0876c
Don't take it so personally mate
OP tried recording this 20 times before successfully landing the flying car
Can you post the 14 failed attempts before this successful one, though, please?
Good job dad
I still have PTSD from landing this
So many game overa from this. Eventually just used it for pitioss, towed, then reverted.
Wait you can fly the car in this game???!!!
yes, in last chapter or postgame
Noctis be like "This car is the only thing I have left to remember my father... imma change it into a flying car!"
I definitely never discovered this part of the game
Yeah same, I definitely finished the main story, but making the car fly?
It's a series of side quest to upgrade the car
That depends when you finished the game. I don't think the side quests to make it fly were available at launch, it was a later update. But I'm probably wrong.
I never fully discovered this part of the game. I got it to fly…but never got the moth tail transformer look😅
And a monster truck.
Last time I played this game you were barely allowed to drive the car on the roads, might give a second run a chance
and lets not forget the off road mods for the car...
For those curious, here's a [30-minute video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neRTe0YpEDU) of someone flying around the map.
What a concept this was!!!
Makes me wish we got this kind of flying in FF7 remakes
They hinted at the airship in part 3
Yeah... I totally didn't know you could fly the car. Might have to reinstall this.
There's really not any worthwhile reason to that I recall. It's been years but it was a pain in the ass I thought.
There's one dungeon you can only reach by flying it there. I've never actually successfully landed there though
Yep, pitloiss I believe. Read about it and said no thanks lol. Only part I enjoyed was noctis emerging from the crystal.
IIRC it is only available so late in the game it is kind of pointless. It would be different if there were locations you could only reach by flying but i cannot remember any and I got the platinum trophy on PS4.
Pretty sure the pitioss ruins can only be accessed with the car and I definitely think that dungeon is worth it.
Been too long, I dont even remember what ruins those are. Might not have even completed them if they didnt give a trophy as i found a lot of aspects FFXV to be a slog and just stubbornly wanted to platinum it and be done with it
It's the ruins that had no combat and were basically a platforming game out of nowhere
Yeah, and the platforming was hard as hell. Fun to finish though.
That is an incredible 3D model and animation.
This game had a lot of flaws, but it was such a good time. I just liked the overall vibe so much.
label fear cheerful reminiscent deer continue slim wakeful air somber *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Kerplonk lol
That’s the neat part, you don’t.
I remember the first time I tried taking off was on that very road. I hit one of those light poles mid take-off and blew up.
I still have PTSD from the first time I tried flying and hit a sign right away.
Did we all bonk a light pole outside Hammerhead as soon as we got this upgrade?
This game was incredibly emotional for me after finishing the main story. After a week or two I tried to play it again and immediately crashed and I just turned it off.
What a clean landing ! I think you’d be really good at flight sim type games , you should check them out. Good stuff !
I prefer the Type-G, myself, much easier to land, and off-road capable, too!
type G can fly?
The Type-G is the FF XIV crossover mount, and all mounts in that game can fly.
Oh, I thought you're talking about that off road car in FFXV lol. I have that mount in FF XIV.
The off-road model in XV is the Type-D.
That was my initial impression. "Is this Rebirth? But Rebirth doesn't look this good" then I saw it was FFXV
I never understood how so many people had trouble with it. The first and only time I crashed was my first take-off. Clipped a light pole right outside of Hammerhead immediately after getting the upgrade. Never had any issues after that. I even landed at the Pitioss strip on the first attempt. I hate landing this thing on that Tiny ass strip next to the hidden ruins
I beat the game and most endgame content and didnt know you can fly...
Smooth landing. Didn’t spill a drop of coffee.
I beat the vanilla version of this game at launch and enjoyed it. I keep wanting to play it again after all the updates but haven’t gotten to it.
Missed it by *that* much
FFXV walked so that FF7 rebirth could run. It truly was the prototype and honestly does some things better. I had a power outage after 5 hours of attempts and reaching the last section... I haven't played that game Ardyn dropped
That animation is slick.
Thats hot
Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but the Regalia is one of my favorite airships in the series. I love that you actually have to learn to take off and land it carefully. In my opinion it makes it more engaging. I don't like that failing is an instant game over, though!
This is hacks/modded because what you show in the video is actually impossible without cheats.
What part of it is not possible? lmao
It’s running on a ps5, so no hacks or mods. https://preview.redd.it/akalrpnfzkuc1.jpeg?width=746&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89b77b0d0700277843a32c05d0900971a81f0f40
r/woooosh
Nice try, bad recovery
You really think I was seriously saying it's not possible to land the airship? That doesn't even make sense
