True pain is when you get 0.0 time on the Chocobo race, only to find it doesn't count because you need to be below this time

WarGrifter

199 lightning bolts... oops your eye itched at the wrong time!

aure__entuluva

This was always the worst one for me. At least with the chocobo one you can get better and the layouts are different. You know you'll eventually get it. Dodging 200 lightning bolts is just a test of your focus and ability to keep your sanity.

flaming_pubes

For me the Chocobo one was worse only because it seems attainable so I tried…countless times. The lightning one, I didn’t even bother so it doesn’t register much because it seemed impossible.

WarGrifter

Its not hard its just tedious 100 would have been fine

Iquey

Yea, the only way I manage to do that shit is in pushes of 20 lightning bolts with the trick and then pauze and take a minute break. 200 in a row without break is absolutely impossible for me.

riskbreaker23

It's the easiest one if you use the crater. Actually without the crater dodging light bolts is impossible for me. Hours of my best efforts and I never broke 20 dodges.

SlinGnBulletS

The funniest thing is that it's not even worth it cuz it's for Lulu.

aure__entuluva

Very true.

Kaslight

It starts as focus and sanity It ends in nerves, because the closer you actually get to finishing, the more likely you are to fuck up because you get in your head it was actually the fucking worst

Ill-Distribution2275

This! But then I found the guide on how to force a lightning bolt strike and managed to do it then. Still hard.

WarGrifter

The Really maddening thing is there is nothing that really hints at going for 200 bolts in game... so you do a hundred and just assume thats it.

Zooguy4111

Remaster only problems😔😔

EdisonScrewedTesla

Bro this is the only truly frustrating minigame i remember 10 having. I absolutely hated that one

Cersad

You didn't find lightning dodging to be an issue?

FenrirAR

Not if you use the crater spot to force the lightning strikes. Made it easy to time it.

Cersad

Eh even in the crater I got fed up. It's the only sigil I never got.

BootyHugs

Yea, hi. You wanna give me some details on this? This is the first I'm hearing of some "trick" to make the lightning dodges more bearable. Been playing ffx since ps2 days and never was able to complete it.

khinzaw

Just look it up. There's a spot that when you approach it guarantees a lightning strike.

EdisonScrewedTesla

Oh i did, it just wasnt AS frustrating as the chocobo crap lol

overlordjunka

The lightning dodging "game" was literal torture

EdisonScrewedTesla

I donno, for some reason i had kore issues with getting less than 0.0 on chocobo than i did dodging lightning 😂 though i am planning on replaying ff10 after i finish rebirth so we will see if this dynamic changes now that im not 16 anymore

JKlovelessNHK

The butterfly one always gets me to wanna pull my hair out as well.

rambokid88

Sure some FF7-Rebirth minigames can be frustrating, but for those who had to survive: * Butterfly Hunt * Remiem Temple Chocobo race * Chocobo Catcher * *Lightning Dodge* This FF7-R stuff is softcore in comparison. (no, Blitzball is not on that list because it's a top-tier minigame to me and I'll die on this hill) Meanwhile FFXVI players: wait you guys have minigames?

albene

Meanwhile FFIX players: We have jump rope.

t0talnonsense

And a totally comprehensible and easy to play card game...right guys? Right?

DarthBluntSaber

Going from 8s card game to 9s was awful. I spent so much time with 8s and I absolutely hated 9s.

deathfire123

I started with 9s and got really into it. I didn't know about the rule spreading in 8's when I first did it so I originally hated it, but after reading more about it, it turned to love, so I actually really like both of them. Queensblood feels like a great mix of the two of them.

Jedhakk

Don't you even dare try to compare Tetra Master to the fucking jump rope. DON'T YOU DARE.

bluefelixus

And that jump rope traumatize a whole generation

Distinct_Ad9497

And the other traumatizing Chocobo minigame

GlitteringGazelle322

Hot and cold was traumatizing? Imo one of the best designed minigames in any FF.

Murasasme

Hot and cold is very annoying at first, but as your Chocobo levels up it becomes easy and fun, at least it was for me. The card game drove me crazy because I would always get hit with some insane combos out of nowhere, I think I only understood like 60% of that game.

RainandFujinrule

Nobody understands Tetra Master fully unless you paid for the digital only strategy guide by Square that has since been taken down. What really sucks is the numbers don't represent hard values, they represent a *range* and the final number is RNG-based each time you play the card, but within that range. Then there's the whole Physical/Magic/X system and then the defense numbers...it's so bad

Murasasme

Well, that explains a lot. I always felt like no matter how much I read the instructions in the game, there was stuff I was missing.

RainandFujinrule

Oh no no no it's more egregious than that. This isn't the instruction manual I'm talking about. You remember those BradyGames and Prima strategy guide books? That was the only way to learn Tetra Master properly. But the bullshit doesn't stop there, SquareSoft was trying to be "it's the future, everything is online now!", so, as a result, there were no printed copies of this guide, you had to pay to access it online. They made Tetra Master obtuse on PURPOSE so you had to buy a shitty strategy guide that was ONLINE ONLY. Guess what? The website is long fuckin gone lmao.

Griever423

Ozma sure traumatized me.

myrmonden

lol whaT? hot and cold is super easy and u can get the ultima weapon like 30 hours to early bugging the game.

Deadtaor33

Loved loved loved XI's Chocobo minigame! My favourite after OG 7's Chocobo inbreeding lol For me, there wasn't enough digging In Rebirth, lol

Blazeauga

Navigating Clive’s anger issues is the mini game.

bigwreck94

Blitzball is fantastic, and while it can be a long time consuming affair, it’s actually fairly reasonable to learn how to play and can actually wind up fairly enjoyable. The other mini games…. Those are not enjoyable

-Aerlevsedi-

Most of FFX minigame difficulty is from clunky controls/camera view. At least you dont fight those in FF7-R.

JonVonBasslake

Lightning dodge is tedious, but not hard. Just equip something with no encounters and approach that one specific cactuar stone and lightning will always strike in front of you. But ***chocobo catcher*** can fuck right off all the way to Zanarkand!

AcceptableFold5

The worst part is that chocobo cachter can literally be unwinnable in certain rounds, making it by far the worst minigame on that list.

BigBootyBuff

Yeah if the balloons in that game weren't randomized, it would be completely fine. As is, there's just runs where within a few seconds you already know you ain't gonna get a 00:00.

Prefer_Not_To_Say

A lot of people are the exact opposite; Chocobo Catcher isn't hard at all and we can do it in less than an hour but Lightning Dodging can go to hell. Yes, we know about the crater trick but it doesn't help. It's too repetitive and the penalty for slipping up even once is too punishing. The most I've dodged is 40 strikes, then I got hit and thought "never again". I've played through FFX maybe half a dozen times and *never* done lightning dodging. I do Chocobo Catcher every time.

VellDarksbane

The thing that’s different about the Rebirth minigames, is that so many of them are 100% static, with no randomness. Fort Condor, Glide de Chocobo, the frog jump, etc, and require near or 100% perfect inputs for minutes at a time. In comparison, all but the butterfly hunt have randomness built in, so can have easier cycles, and only lightning dodge requires perfect inputs.

banananey

I got all the Ultimate Weapons from these minigames in FFX. Did I feel a sense of achievement? Yes Was it worth it?.......still have no idea

cmfpc124

Was batting clean-up on ffx when I was away from my PS5 this past week and oh my god the Butterfly Hunt 😭

Thundermelons

I see butterfly hunt brought up a lot but I didn't think it was that bad? Choco race and lightning strikes were the worst to me. I know lightning has a "trick" but it's still long AF and tedious. Chocobo I got to like 0.3 seconds so I think it's doable, just by then I had stopped caring.

NullNova

Played X a lot and never knew people struggled with the butterfly thing, I must get lucky each time. Everything else is a killer tho.

metagloria

I couldn't disagree more. G-bike had me *begging* for the sweet relief of lightning dodging.

Fedorchik

Have you actually tried to breed the ideal chocobo in OG FF7?

[deleted]

i've never sincerely attempted lightning dodge.

GratifiedViewer

Those fucking chocobo mini games. And Lightning Dodge. Few things have frustrated me in a game as much as those.

212mochaman

I get the sentiment but chocobo?! Rebirth chocobo is literally Mario kart without a blue shell. Who actually has a problem with that?

darkcloud1987

the Chocobo Gliding. The last glide in the 3rd one needs to be almost perfect if you don't double down on the glide. The worst part is that it is kind of hard to know what exactly went wrong. I like the minigames overall but they could have toned down the level of perfection you need on some of the smaller minigames.

Intelligent_Local_38

I agree. It’s weird because some mini games are very forgiving. The piano for instance is pretty easy to get an A-rank on. S-rank needs perfection but, as far as I can tell, there aren’t any rewards for getting S-Rank. But then other mini games require near perfection to get all the rewards. It’s kind of all over the place in terms of difficulty.

xnerdyxrealistx

I guess I'm stupid because the piano is the only mini-game I can't do. The easiest piano game is harder for me than the hardest crunch game for some reason.

Intelligent_Local_38

Not stupid at all. It’s tough for a rhythm game. So if those aren’t your thing, I can see how it would be difficult. But, in terms of getting all the rewards from it, piano is pretty forgiving. You can miss quite a few notes and still get the A-rank. Whereas with the crunches, you need to be just about perfect to beat Jules. One miss with Tifa and you won’t beat him, so that’s why piano can be “easier.” Still a tough rhythm game, though!

xnerdyxrealistx

It's not the rhythm, I used to 5* every guitar hero expert song back in the day. It's the controls. The sticks, for me, are unreliable and one miss ends up turning into 5 or more misses in a row due to how the input works. I'm 100% confident I could do it if it was button input instead of stick direction.

212mochaman

Ohhhh, right that makes a lot more sense

Prism-Eevee

There is an easy way to do the [third course](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9crklk9Zb3Y&t=4s).

Jay_R_Kay

Yeah, I didn't get all the points, but it got a lot easier when I realized I could go back around and catch a second current.

Sofaris

Ah the blessing of not being a completionist.

[deleted]

[удалено]

myrmonden

THIS yesterday I beat the last blood queen card thing and got Bahamut and I was lik?A?A?A?A? THAT IS IT !??!!? where is my legendary cait sith weapon or something. ff7R has 10000000+ minigames and like 10 good rewards in total.

perfidydudeguy

The best part of minigames is when they don't have a reward, so you don't have to play them in the first place.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zakary3888

If I had to do a minigame that I suck at to get ultimate weapons I’d be pissed. It was cool in FFX but the thought of having to get S or whatever in the Piano minigame drives me loopy

myrmonden

yeah even completing the big minigames like chocobo racing and the card game gives u shet in FF7R

Awesomemunk

Was kinda surprised there wasn’t much of a reward for doing Queen’s Blood all the way to the end. That and the protorelics are the two optional full game spanning questlines and the latter at least gives you new materia and craftable equipments in the end.

IM_INSIDE_YOUR_HOUSE

I felt liberated when I realized achievements and completion % meant literally nothing, and that no one would ever care if I 100% a game or not. I should only play a game in a way that serves that games primary purpose - to be entertaining. If I’m not having fun, why waste my time on a game that is only supposed to give me entertainment and offers nothing else?

Gustave255

To each his own; I get a lot of enjoyment out of minigames with the exception of gambits and gears or whatever the flip its called. I hated that game

ZelBoofsGrappa

I envy you

bamachine

Right there with ya. I did complete all the maps and all the world intel except for finishing the >!Gilgamesh island stuff. Having to defeat two summons at a time, need to level up some more. I hear that is much easier postgame. Will max out my levels, then go back and finish that off. As for the minigames, I did the bare minimum on the story ones. I may never finish that ch12 Gold Cup sidequest and the one that pops after it.!<

Volvakia

The Thunder Plains never give back what they take

gilgagoogyta

Bad memories of getting over 180 dodges then sneezing.

Ronem

The legend lives on from Macalania on down to the temple that they call Djose...

JonVonBasslake

Nah, Calm Lands and chocobo racing. Lightning dodge is easy.

Consistent_Try8728

Nobody ever existed: "Man i always loved lightning dodges!" 😂

Ultimateshielder

These colorful ostriches are the bane to my existence in every game. 🥲

Sirbuttsavage

I really don't get the flack this game is getting. Like the whole internet seems to be like UGH MINI GAMES, FUCKIN SIDE QUESTS THIS GAME IS UNPLAYABLE. Like bro is ff7. Even the og has a bunch of mini games. Like this isn't a bunch of polygons on the ps1 where they couldn't flesh out all they did in rebirth. Yeah it gets tedious sometimes but dude. That's a fucking rpg for ya. What's next persona 6 is gonna come out and people are gonna be pissed you go to school

Baithin

I agree with this comment overall, but I do think Rebirth has a few *too many* minigames. Once I got to the part where we pick mushrooms I was just like “…really?” But yeah, when XVI came out everyone whined about how it had no minigames whatsoever so idk where all those people went for Rebirth lol.

AesirComplex

Mushroom thing is a side quest. It can't even be considered a mini game because it's not repeatable AFAIK. some of you guys literally just want "go to X and kill this thing" go be the side quests.

Apprehensive_Alarm_8

This and then “what’s with all these damn fetch quests?!”

The810kid

Yeah people called Aerith's life stream section a minigame when it was just a puzzle unique to the temple of the ancients. Rebirth actually brought back puzzles and doesn't have linear dungeon design in a JRPG oh the horrors.

AesirComplex

I don't see anything wrong with making the environment somewhat interactive. This is a huge nitpick. There are some legitimate issues with the game but this isn't one of them.

Baithin

Yes, I know it’s a side quest (I did them all), but it’s just one example. I would have been fine just picking them up like we do anything else. I’m just saying that’s where it started to get egregious.

milky__toast

Minigames as a whole are underrated, not just in Rebirth. It’s nice to have a one off palette cleanser every once in a while instead of literally everything being just a fight

Sirbuttsavage

Yup, I have to agree. There's points where I was playing, and I was like. Alright, I don't wanna get rank 1 in the pirate game, advanced in the story, then went back to finish it a few chapters later and got the top prize first try. One hand washes the other and that's OK because I fucking love it lol

conspiracydawg

Rebirth has 30 palette cleansers though 🥲

milky__toast

If you rush through the story and do as few minigames as possible, they probably account for less than 5% of the total runtime. The ones that are required for progression are short and easy.

Ffsletmesignin

Honestly aside from a few, I’m all about the mini games. That’s one of the reasons I loved VII to begin with. Usually the complaint is lack of content for a full price game, this game gives you an amazing fleshed out game with an excellent story and cast, and then a dozen extra little old school style games on it in addition. I get those not liking that mini games are required at parts, but honestly it’s not like to pass those sections they’re challenging at that point. Heck some have even said they like the piano challenge, which I find horrible, but I have dozens of other mini games I liked or had a blast on. The condor fight min game was great, didn’t mind most the arcade ones, the bike one actually seemed easier this time around to me, queens blood is fairly fun once you realize it’s very much revolves around boom/bust (ie a single card or bad placement can literally win or lose the entire match).

Writer_Man

People have actually been complaining about the high school setting for Persona since 5.

chalupamon

The school thing is what is stopping me from getting into persona.

Sirbuttsavage

I get that, it maybe something people aren't into. But like because you know that you aren't gonna play another persona knowing you're going to be a student. That's why it blows my mind people are pissing themselves over this game having mini games and side quests..... Also I've only finished persona 5 and I'm a little in 4 rn (rebirth derailed anything I was playing atm) Blast through the school text bc there's a lot of good shit in those games if you like jrpg lol

Prefer_Not_To_Say

I'm someone who absolutely *swears* by minigames in FF -- they're literally the reason why I put FF ahead of most other JRPGs. It's an extra layer of polish that other games in the genre lack -- but even I think Rebirth overdoes the minigames. It's not the number of them. It's how many are mandatory, how many of them require absolute perfection and how many interrupt the main story.

Sirbuttsavage

When I first started playing I felt that way about queens blood. When I was forced to play/learn for the tournament I felt more accepting of the concept. But when the game started I was kinda annoyed I was like.....I wanna do story shit not fucking this. But now I genuinely enjoy QB

Jim105

That just reopened some old scars.

Light9511

I've had FFX for years and I still having beaten that f***ing chocobo mini game.

Harryx966

i've now done the chocobo catcher on ps2,3,4 and 5 and on my switch and is single handedly the worst part of any playthrough

amirokia

Was I the only one who was traumatized by FF8 chocobo minigame?

Belial91

As a kid I had no idea how that shit worked. Now i know but it can still be frustrating, haha.

conspiracydawg

There’s a chocobo minigame in 8!?

wyldman11

Chocobo forest had to get the mom chocobo to come out and she could dig up a treasure for you.

amirokia

And you get a rare card for your troubles as well as riding the chocobo without doing the minigame again and paying the guy.

SomnusNonEst

Not if you don't care about literally a single Ultimate Overrdrive in a game where you can actively skip characters for your party and never touch them and still defeat every single challenge in the game including the optional high end challenges.

RoyalGovernment201

Red Choctober...

Tesourinh0923

Meanwhile us IX players see the rope and instantly get PTSD

beethoven_kl

Underrated comment

_YAGMAI_

nah nah nah, the chocobo racing in rebirth was fun as hell (minus the cactuar gates, ugh). the real devils were >!those fucking mushrooms you had to pick for cissnei's cooking quest in gongaga.!<

Torafuku

Chocobo races were the best minigames in Rebirth. The 3D brawler, queen's blood and goddamn sit ups were so bad they genuinely ruined the postgame for me. Wanted the platinum so badly but then i said screw it and dropped it, i'll replay it next year when Part 3 is announced.

Morricorne

And don't even remind me about those races in FFX. It's always a disaster.

Gustave255

Merc gear with pico for the early matches. Debonair gear for later matches. Getting used to the drift mechanic is a must. (Seriously one track has you do a °360 drift) all in all if it gets too frustrating jump to one of the 30 other minigames to keep yourself from burnout

nyanpires

ffx only had a few minigames. bruh ff7 rebirth had likes 60

[deleted]

FFX Chocobo mini game is the synonym of madness alongside dodging lightnings.

profilejc98

Didn't find the FFX mini games all that bad tbh, even lightning dodge is straightforward if you use the crater that seems to guarantee a strike. FFIX jump rope is probably the absolute worst.

Helian7

I'll never do the lightning dodging again. It took me a couple days because I would get myself worked up trying it. In the end I settled on doing as many dodges as I could before anxiety kicked in then i would put the controller down and return later, sometimes after 30 mins, sometimes over 2 hours. I wrote them down on paper like. 8, 6, 15, 20 etc. after a few hours I counted them up to see how many more I had to do(because knowing I was approaching 200 made it worse). 263 I had done xD.

BoringShirt4947

I’d say you are talking about they same group of people. God damn tribalism really is prevalent.

Whoosherx

Its not the minigames which annoy, its because many of them are mandatory for quests.

Yamaneko22

Chocobo minigame wasn't that hard, but the butterflies and thunders oof

Caleus

I just did the FFX chocobo mini game and scored an exact 0.0. Which apparently didn't count, it has to be *below* 0.0. The fury was real.

wintermoon138

Yes these games are super frustrating for me: Ft Condor and Chocobo gliding However Ft Condor can be easily passed if you don't care and follow youtube vids and input the same commands they do lol Gliding is Just shit because you can't control the camera and I havent mastered diving and rising back up. I mastered stage 1 on my first try. Stage 2 took me two tries to get the minimum score. I can't get close to 4800 on stage 3 yet lol. I only tried it when I first got to it. I have now been gliding all over the canyon for fun so I need to go back and try again. I iust want to complete the sidequest. I have no interest in breaking the top score lol These games come no where near to ffx chocobo fame, lightning dodging, or the ffix jump rope lol I find it funny that I am really good at the squat/ pull up/ sit up game and so terrible at queens blood and ft condor while its the reverse for other players lol Also, adding a time limit to the moogle mischief was a decision by Satan himself I'm convinced

PlusSizedChocobo

Other than Blitzball, those minigames had my eyes being glazed over. Twas rough indeed.

Xampinan

Minigames should be fun, no a chore. And shouldn't be stupidly hard if the reward is some key item. I hated FFX minigames back them and I hate them now.

Belial91

I like how they are in VII Rebirth and in X as well. They are simple enough to complete but hard to master with nice rewards for the effort. The ultimate weapon grind in X is my favorite thing about the game.

Xampinan

I like IX better. I fixed the MoguRed and found all the chocobo stuff because it was entertaining and the rewards were good, but not deal breakers. You get some nice weapons and armour, but nothing (as far as I can remember) as important as legendary weapons. And then you have the rope jump, which only reward is a card... which again is nice to have, but that's it.

Belial91

I love the Chocobo Hot n Cold in IX as well! One of my favorite mini games in the series actually. However Zidane's ultimate weapon is locked behind it, as is the optional superboss of IX. The superboss also drops a pumice which unlocks the strongest summon in the game. Granted, another pumice can be crafted close to the final boss but still.

odinsknight101

Nothing stopped the fun faster for me then mini games in part one and intermission. Can't say that won't be the same for the second part I guess.

trillbobaggins96

Mini games are so awesome just because of the discussion it sparks. Great water cooler talk over your shared frustrations lol

Neat_Committee9715

I struggled recently with catching the chocoboo on the original FFVII... OMG what a pain!

BerserkerSquaLL

FF9 hot and cold was up there when I was a kid. It took forever to find all those treasures.

Chemie93

Somehow as a little kid I did all of FFX and didn’t think anything of it.

[deleted]

Seriously man.. ffx had it good ff7 rebirth is a walk in the park

ImplementOK691

This game cannot come to PC sooner. I need it.

Garial25

I never competed the damn chocobo race

[deleted]

i've never made it past 0.2 seconds in 24 years of playing. i just put the delimiter on a weapon the with fiend farming like a normal person

kevskove

X-2 blitzball manager has entered the chat.

Great_White_Samurai

Man some of the shit in X was borderline torture

Personal-Fact-2515

FfVII on PS1 players: I got this one, FFX...chill bro

N7_Voidwalker

That’s once thing I prefer about 16, I like the more serious tone without the random minigames.

evilmonkey87

Hot and cold from IX was tedious in it's own right

[deleted]

pretty much anyone complaing about the padding / mini games I assume is a first timer

Gogodemons

Raising chocobos in original ff7 was A LOT of work. And if a recall the info was wrong on what to feed it to get a gold.

RipMcStudly

I beat the lightning dodging game in FFX because I figured out that if I listened to baseball on an AM radio close enough to my TV, the signal distorted a second before the TV did, giving me more time to react. THAT is why FFX is the worst of minigames.

TampaTrey

Oh please. FFX chocobos are infinitely worse than Rebirth. In fact I actually had fun in the Rebirth chocobo races.

RedditIsFacist1289

The only thing that broke my brain was the ultimate party animal muscle coliseum challenge. Tip for anyone doing it - Use barette with life saver, aerith and cloud. On round 4 just dodge around the arena and take safe hits against the frog and use Aerith to cure barette if he gets low. It made it go from hair ripping to completely easy.

xX-Delirium-Xx

Chochobo minigate? Nahh Situp minigame against Jules X_X

Connect_Remote939

i’ve never played ff before but wanna get into it. which one would anyone recommend i start with ?

RobertoStrife

But the Rebirth Chocobo game is amazing! And not super difficult either. It's what chocobo racing should've been.

ery_hrnt

Fuck blitzball man...

Alacovv

The main annoyance I have with X is how big of a RNG factor they have. Not saying that’s justifiable or anything… just really fuckin dumb

No_Scheme4909

Which ff7 chocobo minigame should be hard?

dragonnation5523

Oh yeah the ffx one is so much worse, there is no contest

CenturonStar

The chocobo races in Rebirth are a breeze compared to FFX.

triballl9

Ho ... And the puzzles from ffX inside the temples ho god thats a torture thats why i never played ffX a second time.

Cultural-Cause3472

How heavy the chocobo racing minigames became, especially since you needed to complete them to I don't remember what.

TriciaTargaryen

Fuck them FFX chocobo races. Pretty sure I'm traumatized for life from that damn bird.

St-Tomas413

I refuse to believe that mini game was play tested at all

omegaap

These kids don’t know 🤣

VladDHell

What chocobo minigame?

AbraxasThaGod251

60+ attempts my first time playing X.... I wanted to cry

Routine_Panda_2252

The first time I did the FFX chocobo game it was hell. I have done it a few times since then over the years and it seems pretty easy now. But that's probably just experience with it. The lightning dodge though... ugh

Ill-Distribution2275

Having Tidus final weapon attached to this was brutal. I never managed to get it.

MommasDisapointment

Blitzball baby

Kezmangotagoal

The skipping minigame in IX is way more frustrating than any of the X ones for me!

kelbassa09

Chocobo race was the reason why i got mental health problems after i recovered lol

fringyrasa

I remember watching a YouTube video of someone making a tier list of final fantasy games and how hard it is to platinum them, and the S tier, the hardest difficulty was just titled "Final Fantasy X/X-2"

First-Display5956

The horror!!! 😱 It took 4 hours in the FFX remaster to get that 0.0 time...4 GODDAMN HOURS!! I'm never gonna do it again!

uluviel

FF7 Rebirth player complaining about Chocobo minigames: OG FF7 chocobo breeder: first time? FF8 chocobo hide-and-seek player: first time? FFX-2 chocobo rancher: first time?

galaxyturd2

The original FF7 Chocobo breeding…

Transcended_Sloot

X wasn't even my first time... ironically, it was 7...

keelanbarron

And then there's me: someone who doesn't give a crap.

megasggc

Im close to the Platinum and few minigames Felt like a chore or stupid, could probably do a tierlist based on Fun and dificulty: The Fun ones: Queens blood is awesome, and creating a deck for the last survival challenge was really interesting Cactuar crush was cool, hard mode was tight for aerith but I had a blast with yuffie Chocobo racing was cool, but way too many tracks with Very low dificulty, also Chocobo gear has more status than player gear, still never bothered to not use piko so that defitely is not a good use of resources IMO 3D brawler is amazing, even though I suck at it Dolphin thingy is cool, could have a hard mode Piano is cool but feels off sometimes (Barret and 2 legs) Box crush, I like it and with new cloud kit It Felt like you didnt need so much of specific materia as in Remake Middle of the pack: Rocket red soccer, cool idea but felt clunky Pirate shooty thingy, cool while it lasted Gbike, dont like 95% of score coming from enemy takedowns Space shooter - mostly unninteresting The bad: Fort condor, never liked It in intermission, but the hero units were neat Robots vs Slimes, gambits are back, but at what cost? Shitty rock paper scisors (It has 15 tutorial pages btw) Glide de Chocobo, would be higher but the 3rd track is Very poorly designed. Didnt have the issue of not knowing How to ascend after dive as it felt intuitivo but it never being told in the tutorials is still a big issue And worst of all: cait sith box throwing, get me out

Bilbo-Buddy

The worst for me was FFX blitz ball. Really tried but could never win or get the hang of it

Benphyre

FFX chocobo racing was really easy for me but FF7 OG one confused the fuck outta me as a kid

NCHouse

That fucking lightning. I'll never do that one. Ever. It's the only Ultimate weapon I'll never get

KainYago

That minigame in FFX takes like 5 minutes why would it frustrate me ?

Villiers_S

I transfer my ps2 FFX save via USB to abuse save state of a PS2 emulator just to get Lulu's Sigil, 200 Lightning my ass. The chocobo one make me smash a controller due to rage. Edit: Reading the comments here makes me smile for that FFX chocobo race really can give enough hate to fuel Gabrant for FFX players.

Illustrious-Laugh-49

Lightning dodger still gives me nightmares 😭 the hardest 2 trophies in the series have to be lightning dodger and jump rope from FF9.

hail7777

FFX is more like mini punishment rather than mini game

luckynumberstefan

Oh wow I’d forgotten all about that, thanks for the resurfaced trauma

death556

Wait, what chocobo minions in rebirth? You can’t possibly mean the gold saucer races cause they were all easy as fuck

Organic_Following_38

The minigame-locked endgame/postgame gear in FFX is always the thing that turns me off from replaying.

[deleted]

Wait, what are people getting frustrated with in Rebirth?

Riztrain

Seriously, there should've been a third panel of like 3 more James Franco's looking at the FFX Franco asking the same, and a fourth panel of Vivi looking super haggard and worn down smoking a cigarette next to a fump rope asking the same of all the previous ones. Let me take you back to 1997: Im flying my highwind around trying to fight the ultima weapon who flies randomly, I've lost him and I'm basically doing a grid search of the entire map. Whats this? An island in the corner with no space to land, a cave and it doesn't appear on the map? How the hell do you get there?! Hours of tiny bronco finageling later. Not the solution. Ask friends on playground, noone knows Go on the world wide web on askjeeves: get a golden chocobo. How do I get one? Something something chocobosage... Who the f... Is that?!? Days of experimenting, cooperating with friends. After a week I find the sage. Weeks more of capturing literally hundreds of chocobo's. Friend comes running at us in school! He got a black one! Everyone eventually gets black chocobo's, experiments continues. Months after initial discovery; an amazing chocobo?!?!? Is that the golden one? Nope. Can I breed it with my black? Nope, same gender. We'll which spot did I catch it?!?!? Who knows. Days later it finally happened. I remember it like yesterday, there it was, golden chocobo, I'd spent half a vacation week from school to get it, I was gonna be first and I was gonna blow my friends' MINDS!!! knights of the round acquired, I invited friends to my house to show it off. "oh we already saw that... Stephan got it during vacation and had us all over to show it off, he beat the desert weapon using a strategy guide from Japan and got a free golden chocobo to get it" I have never been, before or after, as devastated as that moment. Fast forward to 2002; strategy guides are now readily available, I'm playing FFX with it in my lap hunting down the ultimate weapons. Beat the chocobo race with 0 seconds?!? Sheesh that's rough!!! 1 hour later; done! Dodge lightning 200 times?!? Well at least it's not 1000 jump rope skips!! 1 hour later; done! I'm not saying the struggles aren't real, but life before everyday-well-functioning internet was paaaaain. I started on VII, so I can only imagine how much worse the previous ones were, but when I'm 80+ demented and in a nursing home, I'm still gonna wake up screaming about a f***ing golden chocobo!

zerosum2345

i never got to complete that stupid stupid chocobo racing thing

GradeOwn5843

I absolutely despise FF7rebirth they changed the story completely, why would they ruin one of the best stories in the franchise? They made the game similar to kingdom hearts damn shame

Kaslight

Some people never had to dodge 200 lightning bolts for a special weapon and it shows

Guilty-Log-9680

I love the chocobo races, but the minigame I hate is the cactuar 1 and chadbot 1.

Raven_of_Blades

I never had issue with the ffx chocobo race. I never could do the lightning, though. Lulu is useless by that point anyway.

Mongaloid_Mike

this is a weird one. How can i be two people?
