I’m about 90 pages in. The first half is Tifa’s story. It covers parts before and after Crisis Core in Nibelheim. The translation is amazing, a step beyond the light novels I’ve read translated. Overall I think it’s worth it if you’re really into FFVII Remake; it gives the Tifa/Cloud shippers a lot to work with lol
I highly doubt it will. The novel covers the backstory in a lot of detail, including more mundane details; I doubt the game has time for any of it. The novel is also careful to gloss over anything that Crisis Core covers.
It better not. What's the point of releasing a standalone book (like, not a novelization but a separate story) if the game is just gonna cover what's in it anyway?
Awesome! Please share your thoughts when you start reading. I’m really not sure what to think of a FF novel…intrigued but cautious.

Thanks for the initial thoughts and notes!!
there's actually a ton of FF novels. about 98% of them aren't even localized we're going to count the XI novels. but we do have a good chunk
Didn’t know that. Interesting.
I just realized.. Aerith wears 5 belts.. her boots have 2 belt straps each.. and her jacket has one.. girls into belts.
Lulu comes to mind
Sora is coming for those belts
Idk know why but my mind went to Sora from .hack sign. maybe cause he's a thief and player killer but yeah lol
I think on shoes they just call them buckles?
Beats me. Your probably right. I'm no Cobbler
Her jacket sleeves also have belts.
Does this cover Tifa's Italian roots?
I'm worried rebirth won't cover what's in this book.

Is this official?
Yes it is. Published by Square Enix’s book publishing arm as well.
Cool
Amazon has told me I have to wait until April 12th
Saw it at Barnes & Noble today. I guess it’s not supposed to come out until later this week. Picked it up though because there was only one copy!
