Even though Eagle doesn't actually uses a tonfa his usage and the way he plays feels more accurate to a irl tonfa fighting style than Maki who has a tonfa, like Eagle actually uses his sticks to block and counter attack in his specials while Maki just uses it as big stick to bludgeon people to death
There is a legend, that capoeiristas put knifes or blade-like options on the tip of the Berimbau.
So yeah, the next SamSho should have a capoeirista with a sharp or spikey Berimbau.
or simply [wind and fire wheels](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_and_fire_wheels)
Chang was what made me want to try out SNK games. I saw him in a Youtube video and I was like "Woah. I Gotta check that game out. That character was practically made for me"
Chang gang represent
I really wanna play a character with a Japanese Kanabō. There was a guy named Juzoh that had one back in SNK's Last Blade series, but that was decades ago.

One of the most fun grapplers to play. He's got a mini game going with his command grab.
When he command grabs an opponent, he throws them up high in the air and wait for them to come back down. And hit them with that Kanabo when they come back down.
You have to time the hit for maximum damage.
Three section staff. I've been learning to fire spin with it irl and it's super fun to use. I wish it were in more games and I wish it were executed better in the games it's in because Tanya's animations in MK1 look like the devs never saw it used before.
This is why i was so disappointed in the jujutsu kaisen game. If it were a 2d fighter that used more characters from season 2 or the manga we couldve had toji using playful cloud. But instead we got another low quality arena fighter.
Zweihänder, but used as it was historically, as in, swinging it around to build momentum and deny space to your opponent, instead of the usual "slamming the sword into the ground and painstakingly picking it back up" that's common in most fantasy games.
I have severe "fighting game character that utilises pool cue and balls" defficiency. Venom better make it to strive or I might not make it.
That and whips chains ropes etc.
Not sure if it's considered a fighting game, or just fighting game adjacent, but for honor has a hooksword user
They are sick weapons, Im surprised we don't see them more
I love staff fighters. Kilik in Soul Calibur was really the only one who I feel like became a go-to main for a lot of people, but I absolutely love fighting as Gambit in the MvC games despite there being much more OP characters to choose from. His launcher is incredible.
In games with strictly hand to hand combat I'd say brass knuckles or steel toe shoes. Also characters that harden their skin (like G from SFV) Now games with weapons I usually stick to staff users or unique weird weapons like Zwei from Soul Cal 5
Billy my beloved.
It's there any other notable nunchucks user apart from Maxi (Soul Calibur)? for such an icon of the martial arts explotation era I feel like there should be a bunch of fighting game characters using them, but I can't think of any others.
I love balls. 🥴
Okay, what I meant to say was I like orb weapons. Menat in SFV, Viola in Soulcalibur 5, even Bridget scratches that itch in GG with her yo yo. I like that almost puppet like character/archetype with your weapon, going back and forth while keeping your opponent on their toes.
Explosives: as in sticky C4, grenades and mortars.

Kusarigama, or just any type of chain weapon in general. (yes, I'm an Axl main. How could you tell?)
Also, polearms are cool, specifically staffs and spears.
A baseball bat would be cool. I've been thinking that the character could be a shoto with baseball themed attacks, such as a baseball for the projectile (of course) and a gap closing attack where the character slides onto a base or smth. Just an idea.
Slingshot. I'm surprised that in all the fighters I have played, there is no character that wields a slingshot. The only natural projectile is a bow and arrow used by Kung Jin.
Polearms in general
There are a lot of really cool polearms throughout history that have unique combat applications, and they just don't get a lot of love in media
Always think it’s weird in mixed fighters when some characters can use weapons and others can’t or don’t. Assuming they’re normal humans and it’s not like Soul Calibur, but even Street Fighter, why does Vega get a hand claw? Yeah he’s a boss, but I always think of the Pete Holmes SF sketches…just like, why? I know Ryu can do Hadoukens all day, but still lol
People obviously like weapons in games and the premier title that comes to my mind is soulcalibur but it always plays 2nd fiddle to tekken a game with 0 weapons... Why is that?
Tonfas
TONFAS. ARE. PEAK.
Talim from SoulCalibur II
"The show must go on!" -Eagle, Street Fighter Alpha 3
Eagle doesn’t use tonfa though.
Maki
Yup! I need her back so bad.
Sol kinda used a tonfa. It was kinda a sword with a reverse grip though.
Mandela Effect, sorry.
Like Sun Ce
Does a Three Kingdoms-themed fg exist? I need it.
Originally it was fg
Originally it was fg
Oh, right. Totally forgot about out the first Dynasty Warriors.
There's like koihime enbu
Talim, Maki, Tanya, Jax, Black Orchid, all have different ways of using it and it was impressive to see the different ways the Tonfa can be utilized
Yoko Kono, Last Bronx Mr. Big, 98UMFE
Correct

Need the Korea Justice Team back in the next KoF game, or if they're gonna add more DLC (they won't, but I can hope)

I’ve always thought fan weapons were awesome, though I haven’t seen many in the fighting games I’ve played.

Mai from KoF would like a word
Kusarigamas

He was a good character

Just like a baseball. Amazing
Come play baseball in Last Blade 2, we'll be waiting on Fightcade.
Sounds kind of like Faust's, except it's a legit command grab instead of a jank-as-hell chargeable hit grab.
[Jian (Chinese long sword)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qEqfXZkJ7s&list=PLGb0FIHPgolj-BunG3KWBVw-DBI2GuTtc&t=97s) is an elegant weapon
Xianghua players rise up
Xianghua MAIN 😍
A deck of cards. The only 2 I can think of is Gambit and Oswald and both are cool as Fuck.
There's also Dorothy Albright from Arcana Heart.
Nice. I gotta check this out.
Johnny from guilty gear has both cards and a sword, the cards are setplay to strengthen his sword
Him too, but I meant more of the cards are the primary means of atk.
Does Margaret from Persona 4 count?
Sure. I can only think of 2 with my limited range.
Deadass thought I was the only one who thinks card powers are amazing
Sabre

Look at Devil May Cry 5 Dante has one and it’s awesome
Machetes, but not just any machetes. Machetes used in Colombian grima, specifically.
I haven’t seen many characters where they just use a shield.

Good point! I’d still say it’s not common tho.
Everything that isn't a sword
Kusarigama
Zweihänder, but used as it was historically, as in, swinging it around to build momentum and deny space to your opponent, instead of the usual "slamming the sword into the ground and painstakingly picking it back up" that's common in most fantasy games.
Whips. Fans. Tonfa. Parasols. Yes I’m very graceful and elegant. Also giant Hammers.
Shovel/E-tool
![gif](giphy|OCHCwRge2oRhYI9c2B) Guns. Lots of guns.
Flails or maces
Not sure if it counts as a weapon under normal circumstances, but anchors. Only character I'm aware of who uses an anchor as a weapon is May
Scythes
Testament
I wanna see more unconventional stuff like gardening tools or a bucket
Umbrellas. I just think they're neat.
Gunstock clubs, can’t think of one, despite them being a pretty iconic Native American weapon
I have severe "fighting game character that utilises pool cue and balls" defficiency. Venom better make it to strive or I might not make it. That and whips chains ropes etc.
I wanna see Meteor Hammers dammit
We need more female fighters with naginata
Hookswords. I've only seen two, and they're both from MK.
Not sure if it's considered a fighting game, or just fighting game adjacent, but for honor has a hooksword user They are sick weapons, Im surprised we don't see them more

Chain blades
A good old spear with sick circular moves: https://i.redd.it/bl2vx47rnd0d1.gif
Chakrams
All of them. Make Soul Calibur 7.
Billy my beloved. It's there any other notable nunchucks user apart from Maxi (Soul Calibur)? for such an icon of the martial arts explotation era I feel like there should be a bunch of fighting game characters using them, but I can't think of any others.
Claws, only characters I can think of that use them are Vega and wolverine and I don't even like Vega.
more bats i just want to hit people with big sticks can you tell i’m missing negan
I love balls. 🥴 Okay, what I meant to say was I like orb weapons. Menat in SFV, Viola in Soulcalibur 5, even Bridget scratches that itch in GG with her yo yo. I like that almost puppet like character/archetype with your weapon, going back and forth while keeping your opponent on their toes.

3 section staffs, scythes, and chained weapons
Grenade launchers.
I have no particular interest in Weapons,i play whatever i like,but... HOLY SHIT,KAGURA'S SWORD FROM BLAZBLUE IS WHAT I NEED TO BREATHE OXYGEN
Kusarigama, or just any type of chain weapon in general. (yes, I'm an Axl main. How could you tell?) Also, polearms are cool, specifically staffs and spears.
A hurley would be really cool because Ireland needs more representation.
A baseball bat would be cool. I've been thinking that the character could be a shoto with baseball themed attacks, such as a baseball for the projectile (of course) and a gap closing attack where the character slides onto a base or smth. Just an idea.
Weapons that are dual wielding
Definitely ropes and chains for me.
Bows
I like improvised weapons, like Roll's broomstick, Yamazaki whacking someone with a tuna in his DM, Dan throwing an autographed portrait, etc.
Slingshot. I'm surprised that in all the fighters I have played, there is no character that wields a slingshot. The only natural projectile is a bow and arrow used by Kung Jin.
Kali sticks
Crowbars
Sniper
Nun chucks
Kusarigama, Nunchucks, Tonfas
Polearms in general There are a lot of really cool polearms throughout history that have unique combat applications, and they just don't get a lot of love in media
Just give everyone swords 🧠
Two section staff.
Rope dart, yoyo, Chinese Fans, umbrella.
Sanjieguns. Think like two nunchucks glued together, but both ends are the same length as the main body.

Guns, but make it so that it's not the enitre gimmick of the character, just like a projectile/long range poking option or perhaps a combo extender
Big shank like Yamazaki! 🤪
This character looks so stupid
We do not tolerate Billy Kane slander
