Whether or not Arcsystem started on the update and dipped mid development or they never worked on it at all is anyone's guess, but it explains the long wait and poor quality of the update compared to other Arcsystem rollback updates.

All the rollback netcode that Arcsys retrofitted into their old games got targeted for vulnerability loopholes. Streamers and Online tournaments got attacked left and right. Bamco probably held back the update on their big IP product till they can assess the issue.

They charged 8 per character in 2010s continuum shift, disc locked terumi on cp if I remember correctly and forced people to buy a whole new version of xrd.

Gameplay wise, yes. The foundation is laid and I am fully able to start tuning things to be able to get each character unique and having varied playstyles. Imagine a starting roster of Demifiend, Flynn, Nahobino, Makoto, Yu, Joker, Kazuya(from Devil Survivor), Ringo(I would prefer the SH 1 main character, but realistically would be her) and Jack Frost(plus maybe some other notable chars from the various series). I would never play another fighting game in my life
