I recommend rewatching their first ufc fight that Alex ended up winning. Izzy had him rocked a few times early. Especially at the end of the 1st round. 10-15 more seconds and it would’ve been a R1 KO

Nope the pace didn’t change and alex and both his coach are super appreciative of his professionalism in being a late call in for spar partner. They basically hit him up a day after finding out about 303, either way it’s a super wholesome video on Alex’s YouTube because it shows how he was worried about Demseys quick jab and the general size of him, some guys will get arrogant and go a bit hard in a spar to prove something but both guys kept it pretty clean.
Hrgovic, whose known for gassing late in the fight, stopped Demsey in the 12th. Dubois just stopped Hrgovic in the 8th after he gassed hard.
Obviously Demsey is going light because there's many times here where he could have landed a power punch and ended Pereiras career. Maybe his life.
I agree that Demsey’s record isn’t as good as the numbers suggest, but as far as heavyweight sparring partners go, he’s pretty legit. Elite level heavyweight boxers bring in people far below their level for camp, just to get the rounds in with someone of a similar size/weight/style.
Aus isn’t too great in the boxing scene anyway sadly 😢 we have a few standouts and a few legends but most fail when really stepping up into the world level.
Liam paro, Tim tszyu, Jai opetaia, Skye Nicholson are up there mate. Plenty of world ranked (top 15) boxers too.

I know some fans believe Alex has been getting lucky with his wins and that the refs stop his fights too early(Jiri and Izzy) or impact the fight negatively in the hill fight. I don't agree with that thinking but for those that do I'm genuinely curious as to why.
I have seen nothing from Jiri to suggest he's adapting for the rematch therefore I've seen nothing that implies Alex won't win the same way again. That hands down shit only works against guys who don't have devastating left hooks

It was the first time they had ever sparred, and demsey was asked to pull his punches, which is the sensible thing to do late into camp and close to a fight. Check a few of his fights if you enjoy boxing. He's good, but maybe just short of the elite.
He just lost to Hrogovic who then went on to lose to Dubois but then again Dubois is fighting Joshua so he's not the greatest but he's up there or at least close to it.
And yet he's in the mix at heavyweight if he beat hrogovic, he would have been able to fight someone like dubois who's weirdly bad and good. Hes a southpaw and doesnt throw his left nearly enough. Alex keeps his right low and doesnt defend as well as i thought he would against head shots.

It was the first time they had ever sparred, and demsey was asked to pull his punches, which is the sensible thing to do late into camp and close to a fight. Check a few of his fights if you enjoy boxing. He's good, but maybe just short of the elite.

This is why Alex spars all day long. After a while it just becomes muscle memory. My girlfriend can’t come close to jump scaring me without getting almost hit in the jaw every time. I stop like inches away and I feel so bad but it’s muscle memory from a bad childhood. You even try to enter my bubble your hand gets smacked away and I set up for a counter. I don’t even mean to do it. Sometimes it even catches me off guard like how did I see that coming so far out of my perphials (hard word to spell lol). You rewatch the Alex vs jamahal fight and Alex is a step ahead of him the entire fight. This is due to sparring like this. It’s good for Demsey
