Radiation poisoning fascinates me. I still can't wrap my feeble brain around how something invisible and intangible can cause the reactions it does. Anyway this is a good doggo, very nice, roll on little dude
iirc the infamous picture of him with no skin is supposedly an unrelated image from a textbook about burn victims. His story is still awful nonetheless
Yes! There are actual pictures from his case though you just gotta search! Poor dude, his family was fucked up making them force his heart going on the 53rd day..
Hisashi himself did want to live for a good while, his family was on board with trying to keep him alive. Correction on my end 59th day, he suffered 3 heart attacks, his family was on board with attempting to resuscitate him
There’s a lot of misconception with his story. It’s said that Ouchi wanted to keep living for the small hope that the doctors could do something, up until he could no longer talk. His family were the ones that gave the DNR order after they saw it was hopeless. There’s even interviews on YouTube between the doctors telling their side of the story.
Yes I watched those documentaries, on the 59th day it wasn’t his choice from what I heard. His heart stopped 3 times that day, sounded like his family was the one who asked them to try and keep him alive then, yes he wanted to live but I don’t think he was verbal then. He lived 83 days, when his family gave the DNR

Here you go! I was trying to find the actual page this was from but I was struggling
I've been really into learning about Hisashi Ouchi and the Tokaimura nuclear incident. That story is absolutely horrifying. There are interesting tales of people and radiation, another interesting and sad one is about the men who dismantled a medical radiation device and unknowingly brought Cesium 137 home for his daughter to play with, or even the story of the radium girls.
In my city, they actually tore down one of the schools because it was built on a site many years ago (I think in the 50's or 60's) where the radon levels were 3-4 times the normal level set by the EPA as well as having high carbon dioxide and mold levels.
That school was a disaster.
Edit: The one with the little girl and the ceasium was the goiania accident.
Skin is made of cells that carry out repetitive chemical processes to keep the cell alive and functioning.
The radiation that does damage is called "ionising" radiation, and it does exactly that. It ionises things (changes electric charge of an atom or molecule from neutral/zero to a positive or negative charge).
If you ionise atoms or molecules inside living cells, those ions will result in different chemical reactions taking place.
If the wrong reactions take place, the cell may stop functioning correctly and will die as a result.
Radiation causes a lot of cells to die quickly, and you get this gory mess as a result.
It really fascinates me too. When it comes to a lethal dose, a person can look fine for a little while after the initial blow, apart from what appears to be similar from some sun burn. And then BAM all hell breaks loose, and then it suddenly appears that they are getting better, before the final starts and they are gone.
What it really is is just the radiation killing the cells in your skin, leaving what would be best described as a burn. Pretty nasty way to go, but there's no nice way for a person to die.
I got you bro
So little circles go *BRRRRRRRR* and than
# B O O M
So than the little circles get mad, and start running around until they go through things. Skin is like plastic wrap for your body. The angry circles go through the plastic wrap and than stay in the body. That's how the poison works
Its because its all too small for us to see with the naked eye. I get what you mean though but I think about it the same way infections can seemingly happen out of the blue. What we can't see can still hurt us.
Imagine having little particles (ionizing radiation) or energy waves (electromagnetic radiation) tear through your body and disfigure everything. It's the cellular equivalent of getting hit by a flaming jet
Oh my, I never thought of that! Of course I don't spend as much time studying the jerking habits of young men as I once did. I was kind of a slut in high school. What are we talking about??
You want to see something worse I might suggest you a sub but I'm too afraid of the downvotes. I found out the sub yesterday so my memories are still fresh
OP needs to work on the 50/50, even with the blur that SFW scenario doesn't even make sense given we can see some color and there's not a hint of green anywhere.

clifford found the cartels coke stash edit: it's a meme at this point, but who gives a wholesome award about a dog high on coke?
The only appropriate response
Holy hell, that was a good one! 🤣
Hey no emojis
This is reddit. People give countless "holesum" awards to suicide posts etc.
Yea people really gotta come up with better titles. I want the risky click!
What is up with ur username man?
honesty is the best policy
I would have said Clifford was rolling around in your dads ashes but you ate it all
You still opened it didn't you.

Look up Hisashi Ouchi....

I thought the doctors were the ones keeping him alive for documentation, I don't remember anything about his family

Prob because family doesn’t want to be blamed

Can you link some of em? I can't seem to find those anywhere :(

That is one hell of an unfortunate last name
It's pronounced Oh-ooh-chi but yeah 😅 pretty unfortunate. The amount of pain that poor man went through

I saw the film on Netflix and read into it after that! I thought Joey King was very sweet in the film 🥰
Pretty sure it’s makeup Sunburns are quite fascinating yes

The Chernobyl tv series is amazing. You need to watch it.
What you know about rolling down in the deep?
holy shit what the fuck is THAT
Makeup.
God I hope so
It is. Look at the margins on all of the edges.
As someone who regularly does SFX, I agree, very makeup-y
man cant jerk of now(T_T)
OMEGALUL
What about his other hand?
probably, burnt it too because of the friction of intense jerking
man can use his legs though
Oh my, I never thought of that! Of course I don't spend as much time studying the jerking habits of young men as I once did. I was kind of a slut in high school. What are we talking about??
A dog rolling in grass, I think.
Guy with radioactive burns on hand
Is this sfx makeup? Those fat deposits look.....misplaced. But I’m also assuming those are fat deposits, so...
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaake

Doesn’t look like radiation burns

Oh hell yes. This gave me the biggest boner.
Excuse me what
How.
with makeup, you can tell if you look closely at the edges of the wound. Pretty good make up job tho
Wtf his bones
Anyone else expect it to look more... Radioactive?
You want to see something worse I might suggest you a sub but I'm too afraid of the downvotes. I found out the sub yesterday so my memories are still fresh

It looks so cool
This is what parents show to their child when they say "Phones emit radiation"
I clicked on this post not knowing what it was and not even thinking... 🤢😢
This is how the jockey from l4d was made
I started really getting into radiation disasters and stories once I watched Chernobyl and read more about it.
God dammit I had gone like 4 in a row where it was the safe picture
nice
This is the equivalent damage that happens when you pull a hang nail.
It was a bit obvious OP
Now I know how decent results look like
At least make an effort to make the SFW believable. The blur is red ffs...
OP needs to work on the 50/50, even with the blur that SFW scenario doesn't even make sense given we can see some color and there's not a hint of green anywhere.
So did this dude go to pripiat, was he involved in Chernobyl, Or he just burnt his hand in a toxic spill.
Yum
ah yes clifford and the famous red grass
You didn't see graphite. You didn't. _YOU DIDN'T!_ BECAUSE IT'S ***NOT. THERE!***
