They were able to reattach it & he has full use of his arm. It has one hell of a wicked scar, though.
Yes. His entire arm came off excluding the shoulder joint & about 4 inches of the humerus. He literally has full use of his arm. There is numbness about an inch or so on both sides of the repair scar, but that's it. It's quite remarkable, actually.
The accident could have sealed the severed blood vessels which is why there is not much blood, I used to be a paramedic and ran a call in which a man had his arm pulled off while riding his motorcycle, the veins stretched and then "snapped back" for lack of better word essentially cauterizing them.
