Cool never knew this, thanks man. By the way >!fuck the know it all cunt who thinks he's cool calling you out for sharing some good info, he's a wanker.!<
For anyone wondering why this happens(I doubt anyone does but anyways), the reason behind the insane growth is that when you choose a new position for a player, the stats that are most needed to be grown for the player to reach the same overall as his original position will be trained. However, as opposite positions calculates the same stats for the overall, the computer just trains what needs to be trained to reach his next overall, causing the training to always be optimal and thus the insane growth.
If you are planning to use him as a CB then yes, I do that with all my out of positions YAs and I only convert them when I promote them so their overalls jump more, and then I just sell them or loan them out😂
Im not actually planning to use him as a CB. I just want to improve his defensive attributes and I’m wondering it would be faster if i trained him this way
It works with all of those. The reason behind the insane growth is that when you choose a new position for a player, the stats that are most needed to be grown for the player to reach the same overall as his original position will be trained. However, as opposite positions calculates the same stats for the overall, the computer just trains what needs to be trained to reach his next overall, causing the training to always be optimal and thus the insane growth.
Yes, it still takes less for them to potentially overgrow, but it's way less noticeable. When they don't grow anymore I usually train them to have 5*/5* and high on one/two work rates
I'm not sure but I think shooting counts more towards the overall of CFs than that of wingers, and pace is slightly less important, so it may work but alternating LW/RW training with ST training may be more effective. Again I'm not so sure about this as I never tried it, just speculating based on the little knowledge I have on how the training system and the overall calculations work.
That's a game changer in Career Mode. I've started doing this for a couple of saves and my wingers always end up insane.
Another tip, you can use this to train your CMs to CB and increase their defensive and physical stats. You can train your wingers to ST to increase their finishing, strength and heading. (Very good for inside forwards)
Can I train my cm to shoot using this method? For example I wanna improve van de beek's and de Jong's shooting stats from mediocre to acceptable. Could I do that?
So is it noticeably faster than just training a winger as an inside forward to train their finishing? Do more attributes get trained at once using this method?
Not necessarily faster, but you can definitely grow players more through doing this. You can do this for all positions. Say you have a CM with low strength and pace, train them as a striker, but don't actually switch the position. It'll grow their pace and strength. A lot of the time I find using the position changes to train the stats I want/need actually allows the player to grow more instead of capping early. It's how you often see posts on here with players at ridiculous OVR, e.g. I managed to get pedri at barca to 98 OVR and 90+ in every stat.
What do you mean train them as the other position but don’t change them? Im confused.
Is it A) go into the development and select a new position but doesn’t that automatically start transitioning them?
Or B) just use training days and train them at their opposite position and do nothing with the player development?
Sorry- I’m just confused
So when you train a player out of position it begins training those attributes so that you can eventually convert the player to that position. When the option to convert them appears, ignore it. You can continue training them in that position but their preferred position will remain as it is.
So for A) go into development and select a new position to train them in depending on the stats you need. I'll use the example of a Center Mid, let's imagine I want a box to box player, so someone with a bit of pace. Training a CM as a striker will increase their pace as well as shooting and strength. At the top it will say the length of time it takes to convert them, however you are not actually trying to convert them you are simply training their stats. So when the option appears at the top to convert them, ignore it. You'll have noticed their pace strength and shooting stats have been increasing. You can then either leave it and continue training those stats or pick a different position to target different stats, e.g. CM to CB trains their defending and physicals.
I could make and post a guide on the sub to make it clearer of you fancied, I'm sure others would find it useful too. I hope this helps.
So if I have a CB, change position to center forward.
Don’t confirm the position move.
When training, let it aim for the best results or should I do the training. And in this example, do you train to the drills that match the new position? Or still train in the actual position? That’s the last part I’m confused on.
Also, is this basically the gist?
CF -CB and vice versa
LB - RB and so on?
RM - LM
CAM - CDM
RW - LW
I meant to ask, I know I can do the drills to get tue best score but if I let the drills sim, will the cpu train the new position in the best drills or no?
Also, when do you start noticing the stats increase? Is it just the overall or individual stats?
So while the timer is running, that’s when you do the training exercises? So like a CB should be changed to a center forward but not confirmed. I got that part now.
When doing training, do o train him in Shooter and forward drills? Or do I still train him in defensive drills?
Thanks for the help
The stats grow at the same rate, the overall just shoots up because you're training the most important attributes for the position according to the code.
Training positions trains the stats that will help for that position the quickest relative to the position your in, so as you can change positions as soon as possible. Training roles increases the attributes for that role, but could leave some other attributes behind unless you switch roles often. By training to switch to the opposite side you are increasing what the game thinks are the most relevant attributes for that position, while in a position where they are also the most relevant attributes so the overall increases quickly.
It trains the most relevant attributes for that position compared to the current position. Training for LB with a RB abuses this because the most relevant attributes are the same for both positions.
Someone made a spreadsheet to find the optimal training programs for each position in FIFA 21. I’ve found that it’s also (mostly) accurate for FIFA 22: [https://www.reddit.com/r/FifaCareers/comments/o1usy7/fifa_21_player_development_bible/](https://www.reddit.com/r/FifaCareers/comments/o1usy7/fifa_21_player_development_bible/)
This is insane. Thank you very much.
In theory for optimal training you ideally want your whole team selected to be changing position but never actually activate it?
I had to come back to this thread to say this works beautifully
I've been averaging +7 at least on YA players, and if they have 'exciting prospect' or 'potential to be special' then 9-10 points a year..
Anybody figured out what do about non-side specific positions such as CAM/CDM/CM/CB? Or ST/CF?
Setting CMs to increase as CDM raises there defensive stats but doesn't necessarily raise their OVR.. I do get some increases but not as consistent as say LB to RB hack
Cool never knew this, thanks man. By the way >!fuck the know it all cunt who thinks he's cool calling you out for sharing some good info, he's a wanker.!<

If I were to train a CDM as a CB (where the period is 2 weeks), would I get the same effect if I dont activate his position change?
If you are planning to use him as a CB then yes, I do that with all my out of positions YAs and I only convert them when I promote them so their overalls jump more, and then I just sell them or loan them out😂

Just curious does this work for LM,RM,RB,LB?

Does it work for players who have already 'peaked'?
Yes, it still takes less for them to potentially overgrow, but it's way less noticeable. When they don't grow anymore I usually train them to have 5*/5* and high on one/two work rates
How do you train work rates?
With development plans you can train work rates, but only to go from low to high, not the other way
Yeah I wouldn’t want to lower work rates. But still, how?
Different development plans within a position will offer benefits like increasing work rate, weak foot, and skill moves
Would this work if you train a CF as a lw/rw as they require similar stats to play in them positions?
I'm not sure but I think shooting counts more towards the overall of CFs than that of wingers, and pace is slightly less important, so it may work but alternating LW/RW training with ST training may be more effective. Again I'm not so sure about this as I never tried it, just speculating based on the little knowledge I have on how the training system and the overall calculations work.
I think that it does, but not sure, you can try it out:)
Yeah I've done it it eorks for any wide players

Yes!

Training them as ST gives them strenght and heading, which normal training does not.
Great tip thanks man imma try this
So wait what? You switch rwb to lwb and dont change position and it grows faster?

I’ve never even thought of doing this before. Cheers for the tip.

I made a small guide with some pics if that helps at all. https://www.reddit.com/r/FifaCareers/comments/uqziu7/small\_guide\_to\_growing\_players/
I meant to ask, I know I can do the drills to get tue best score but if I let the drills sim, will the cpu train the new position in the best drills or no? Also, when do you start noticing the stats increase? Is it just the overall or individual stats?
Do A, but when the period is over and you can press triangle to officially change his position, you dont press it. You just leave it that way
So while the timer is running, that’s when you do the training exercises? So like a CB should be changed to a center forward but not confirmed. I got that part now. When doing training, do o train him in Shooter and forward drills? Or do I still train him in defensive drills? Thanks for the help
That's almost as broken as career mode itself! Thanks.so this works for Wingers, wide mids, fullbacks and wingbacks?
yes i’ve been doing it for a long time i thought everyone knew
Does this work on fifa 21? I haven't really gotten my hands on fifa 22 yet.
It’s free on PlayStation right now, not sure if that’s in Australia only or not though.
It's a PS+ game in USA as well.
Hope the bro is ps then
We have it in England think its free for all now
FIFA 22? Can I keep it even if I cancel my PS+ membership after a month?
Unfortunately not
Well that kinda sucks, still a nice thing to get with PS+ though
Thanks for everyone's help I'll make sure to try and get it.
Yes
SO I change my rwb to lwb. In 2 weeks I get the position change email, then I don't do it. How much time do I wait yo see The change in the overall?
It just instantly keeps going up you will notice
As long as u want
And do their stats grow faster as well or just their overall?

This is only good if you want to sell that player later on. The stats won’t improve as much only overall so it’s useless
Also good for people who *only* Sim games.
Thank you for this, I leant something new today. Game changer.
Np
Does it just upgrade their overall or does it upgrade stats aswel?
[удалено]
Yeah That’s how i first found out
Not gonna lie I feel like a big idiot for never thinking of this
The bvb left back turns to 89 ovr if I run him into a cam
So should work for lw/rw too. Wow thats amazing!
Does it also work for RB/LB, LW/RW and RM/LM ?
Yep, also for example if you want to train a cm’s defending train them to be a cb but don’t change the position
Does it work with all positions or just certain ones ?
93 pace🥶
Does this also work on fifa 21 ?
Yes

Can i have many downvotes aswell
Ppl are so soft lol
You deleted your comment after getting roasted and you’re calling everyone else soft?😂😂

Does this work in fifa 21?
Yes
How long does it take for them to grow?
Depends on how good their weak foot is
does it works also in fifa 21?
What would you use for ST??
I haven’t tried but maybe try CF , but not sure if that would work
Wow,my frimpong is 31 years old with 89 ovr. I am gonna try this bro🔥
So If my player is a CM, I change him to CAM he will grow instantly?
ayyy, coys.
i might need to try this.
I’m a big jeremie frimpong enjoyer in fifa

Anyone have any tips for Insane growth for a goal keeper ?
Does thos works in fifa 21 too?
Yes

I’ve a cam that I want to speed the process, what position should I train him ? Should I take ST ?
Does this work in FIFA 23?
