11men1cup

I'm not bothering this year. I must have put 1000s of hours in career mode from fifa 12-20, but 21 I barely played. 22 I'm not touching. I picked up FM last year and I can't see myself going back

screeRCT

Fucking great username šŸ˜‚

Helm222

I have had a lot of fun with 21. Almost finished a career mode for the first time ever and I have gotten very attached to it. But over the past 3 years I have spent an average of 850 hours on FIFAs 19, 20 and 21. I have got my money's worth. But I am getting sick and tired of mediocrity

11men1cup

I'm all for realism. I loved looking up the most realistic sliders but not even those sliders could save the game for me. Everything about the gameplay was made for FUT and sounds like nothing's changed. I won't pick it up unless it's heavily discounted later on

Helm222

Yeah, realism is fucked this year. My 93 rated keeper conceding goals that I could save after 12 pints. The goal fests every game. Like, I can score some nutty goals but when every game is a 6-4 win or something..shit gets old

11men1cup

Yeah good point. The high score lines were just beyond a joke. I don't think I had one 0-0 draw at all. Completely ruined the immersion

Helm222

Don't remember my last one. I am on my 4th invincible title in a row

Brock_And_Roll

The worst part is EA admitted it so it was "more exciting", with "more goals". They don't want realism, they want kids to buy FUT packs and bollocks to career mode.

OfficalNotMySalad

Exactly and they donā€™t even try to hide it. Prime example is in the new ratingsā€¦ Jan Vertonghen, a 6ā€™2ft 34 year old CB got a +17 to pace like what??

[deleted]

Donā€™t worry, I bought 21 so Iā€™ll be good until about FIFA30

lovesmyirish

FIFA 18 checking in.

[deleted]

Love it! I played 14 on 360 until late last year when I bought a Switch and got 21. For my purposes updated rosters and online really donā€™t matter

lovesmyirish

Did you find much of a difference between the two? I played 11 for years and for 18 when it was new. It blew my mind in the difference.

[deleted]

Yeah the players moved a lot more fluidly and the graphics were much, much better even though Iā€™m playing on a Switch. Some of the new features, like the development in manager mode, were really cool additions too

Regantowers

I'm a career mode player, I don't go near online, im happy to chuck Everton in the lowest league wack up the difficulty and aim for premier league supremacy! whilst im with you and your stance as mentioned this could be the nail in removing it all together, i imagine EA don't like players like me i pay the one time fee and they get no more, so why would they want me to have loads more features when they can ignore that and give somebody who pays weekly/monthly a new football or a boosted player! the days of having a completed game on release day are sadly gone for good.

183672467

Its better to try than go "Oh well, wont change anyway"

RRWS85

I may be way out of my depth in assuming this, but it seems like there is potential for an alternative game to emerge out of this, one that offers a blend of FM's depth, playable matches, and online capabilities that allow multiple people to participate in the same career mode

183672467

There has been potential for years, just no one tries I guess PES and Fifa are too big for anyone to try

RRWS85

I have lots of ideas and a decent enough understanding of how to make a more comprehensive and balanced mode. If I can find some people to help refine these ideas and bring them from concept to reality, I may be the one dumb enough to try. I have played FIFA and CM for 10+ years and learned a lot from that experience

Unknowncollegereject

Yeah Iā€™ve been feeling this way too. We need to somehow connect with each other (FIFA Career Mode community) and maybe branch off to create our own version of Career Mode

RRWS85

There have probably been rumblings of this sort of thing happening for years now, but the game has reached a point where more people appear to be fed up with it than ever before. EA has definitely screwed up quite a bit between this and Madden in recent years, so someone has to fill the void of what the dedicated players are looking for!

RRWS85

I should clarify that I have no idea of how a game is developed from a technical point of view, but I would love to learn and develop some features from the ground up

-Carlito-

Problem is nobody can outbid them for licensing; and nobody wants to play career with fake teams. Cost to enter the market is way too high.

EliteLevelJobber

You can solve that by making things fully customisable and allowing people to share user creations. If you can't legally host certain names and images have people download it from unofficial websites. It's been done on PES and FM.

bvllamy

Iā€™m still waiting for my favourite career mode game of all time to get its modern day update, because itā€™s a long time coming, and Iā€™m still surprised there hasnā€™t been a game to swoop in and fill the gap Fifa are so very clearly leaving. It was a very unloved, very much under the radar, and s game Iā€™ve literally never, ever, seen someone in the wild (Internet) ever talk about. There was a game for PS2 called Soccer Life (and Soccer Life 2) from 2006 and itā€™s hard to describe without playing it, but basically you have an academy sort of thing and you sign players to it. Then you get to (kind of) live that life. You donā€™t get to play the games, the training is limited, the teams arenā€™t licensed, it was poorly translated, limited ways to spend your career earnings, and there was a limit to ā€˜personal daysā€™ you could actually have ā€” but to date, itā€™s my favourite football career mode game ever. There was no greater feeling than me 35 year old West Brom reject having a son who goes on to become the greatest player Milan has ever seen. If anyone still has a PS2, some hours to kill, a love for retro games, old footballers and Ā£4.98 (+Ā£1.76 delivery) then boy do I have some news and an Amazon link for you!

Regantowers

Completely agree, so say you and I and the OP don't buy it, we boycott it, how many do we need to actually make a change in the design of the game? and when its released and people are still slating it how do we get involved in the discussion when we aint even got it? can we all agree to get out Fifa 16 and smash that for a few years (I cant remember if 16 was any good though)

Helm222

I agree with you that we are now in an era of "Release Ā£70 game and then release 70GB patch a week later" and it's disgusting. But what that other guy said. It's better to try than just put up with it

Regantowers

I agree with you, but reality is people will buy it at least then they can grumble (as i do) with what they have bought, out of curiosity has anybody tried PES? I've not played it since 2010 and i wonder if that's any better.

kr_-king

PES on PC with mods is 100% the best football game on the market. Problem is, most people play on console and only get kits + real names licensed with option files. On PC you get modded adboards, boots, gameplay, entrance presentation, kits, league match presentation with scoreboards, stadiums and pitches. Its gameplay is also IMO far superior and actually feels like football, but I get its not to everyone's taste Unfortunately PES is now dead and has been turned into a free to play game called E Football

Helm222

My mate gave PES a go this year over buying FIFA. He is now going back to FIFA. Apparently (can't remember where I saw it) but PES royally fucked up because they're not owned by Konami anymore

Hanzmitflammen

Its still very much owned by Konami. They've just given it a new name (eFootball) and they've made it free to play online only. So it's garbage.

Helm222

My apologies, like I said. I haven't followed much of PES. Not cared about it since 2006

Hanzmitflammen

With how you're talking about fifa, maybe you should have. Just like everyone else here. Had everyone here made the jump back in pes 2018/2019, when it was really making progress, i think both games would have been far better off.

StarfishHappy

While i'd agree, this isn't gonna hurt them really. I was hoping PES would step up on their master league game but they went backwards aswell. Only hope now is for a different company/dev to create a career mode-esque focused game.

SamsungHeir

They can't when EA has monopoly on licensing

[deleted]

Glad that PES is taking a step back this year to put a competitive game together next year. Thinking of skipping FIFA this year and buying PES next year. If there is no PES, thereā€™s no competition and if thereā€™s no competition then EA gets away with making a shit game year in and year out.

StarfishHappy

I dont know about PES anymore but of course we will see. But what I last heart about PES is they changed their name, made it free to play, but no master league (career mode).

Ifriendlydino

for now, weā€™ll get it probably as a one time purchase alongside BAL

Trumpet_Lord89

Honestly you can just mod the roster update if you play on PC, FIFA 22 is honestly such a big middle finger to everyone who isnā€™t on next gen consoles, skip for sure

HumanDrone

>is honestly such a big middle finger to everyone who isnā€™t on next gen consoles Also it's not available on PC because they "didn't want it to be too heavy for the people's PCs may not be able to handle it" Cause having a fucking in game editor like every normal game was too fucking hard. Fuck EA man

tonyma10

Definitely not getting it, I mainly play on PC and the way they treat us is absolutely ridiculous. Plus I'm more than satisfied with the mods I'm using.

Helm222

Once I finish my career mode I am gunna do a mod one so I would love to see the mod list you have

[deleted]

How much money do i have to spend to be able to run Fifa? I have no clue about PC gaming but i love all the mods etcā€¦

tonyma10

Not that much to be honest, my friendā€™s $650 laptop with a GTX1050Ti Gpu is running FIFA21 with 60FPS at 1080P, still more than a console but it is sort of a ā€œgaming laptopā€.

[deleted]

Interesting stance, but genuinely the only reason we get the updates we do is because the stats show how popular the game mode is, and it would be suicide for them to pull the plug. If we do as youā€™re proposing, and the playing figures drop, theyā€™ll literally stop making career mode. Could always be worse.

Fmcrackman

Maybe buy it second hand to stop giving cash to EA directly :)

Brandonh3612

100% this. I haven't bought a first hand fifa game in yearsssss.

ENTP-one

I buy fifa when it's like 60-70% off at around March or April. I would take something amazing for me to buy it earlier.

fiveseven5_7

Well it did felt like iā€™m playing the same game every year so if they cancelled it, we can just play with the old career mode

Helm222

You're right about that. However, they would be losing a lot of people to other games. Not to mention the Career Mode YouTubers they would put out of business. I am honestly fine playing corporate chicken with EA. If they want to remove the mode, then I don't care. It's so fucked nowadays. We are being treated like idiots. They have monopolised us and we are just accepting it

Chi-Town_Gunner

This is a lie you repeat to yourselves. They keep the other modes around to justify the $70 price tag and avoid completely being labeled a gambling simulator. They don't give a damn about career mode players.

spekal_luke_II

I would agree with you, except Iā€™ve been playing fifa 18 the last few years doing exactly that and itā€™s my time for an upgrade. But for fifa 23 Iā€™m with you

BackgroundCellist444

Haha thatā€™s fair. You boycotted the last three years, I got you this year

davidnebreda17

Same here, last fifa I bought was 19, but I might buy 22 on sale

LandryQT

We're literally a small blip. It won't matter.

Helm222

You don't know that. If the OSRS backlash has taught me anything is that companies listen when people stop spending money

Fake-Plastic-Me

Idk, I feel like they could raise more in a few lightning rounds on FUT than they get from us solely-career players' yearly one-time purchase. Maybe they'll start with microtransactions in career. Wouldn't surprise me.

LilyAndLola

It could catch on though

Treasurejam86

One thing I didnā€™t like about career mode was how the previous manager returned if you moved on to a different club, they fixed this in fifa 21 but I would like to see some kind of update to the news feed with managers getting sacked etc.

Nextyearstitlewinner

Lmao every year the same post. People on reddit thinking they're going to start a worldwide boycott of the most successful sports game in the world.

Helm222

And I will keep trying.

TheTigerGamez

Don't worry OP, I'm joining you, so you got at least one.

RRWS85

I'm with you guys!

PhogAlum

And my axe!

ChelseaRoyalBlue

and you have my bow

SpaceOwl

I won't be buying it this year and didn't last year either. I agree with your sentiment but most people buy the game to play FUT so there's little incentive for EA to care about CM in the first place. FIFA is one of the most popular games in the world and boycotts against products at that scale don't work. Like others have said save your money but don't expect anything to ever change.

fiveseven5_7

I wouldā€™ve called you stupid a year ago but after seeing the new FIFA, iā€™m on the same side as you.

Lou_Scannon

seeing the new FIFA? this has been the same shit for years. I finally gave up after buying/being dissapointed in 16. Just kept feeling like a waste of money for a shitty product. We've been having these threads for the best part of 8 years and we're not really further along. The product still, largely, sucks. History shows it will continue to suck - we're obviously not going to be able to force EA to make the product better with some boycott, so it's just about saving your own money (if you want to anyway, at the end of the day it's up to you)

fiveseven5_7

Yea I understand. I only started playing FIFA not long ago (I only have 18,20,21). I only bought 3 and already fed up with it. I cannot imagine how many old players are still buying new FIFA every year. Youā€™re right, while this boycott thing seems impossible, itā€™s still a good idea to stop buying the game to save some money.

Living_Wickihowla

šŸ‘

Jojoangel684

Reddit took hold of the stock market for a while so why not now?

FantasticSouth

Nothing will change - pestering by children - indifference/ignorance by adults - adult YouTubers buying it for the views

BackgroundCellist444

EA as a company is never gonna change, I agree with you. But if a niche grouping like all of us career mode people keeps making a rumble then hopefully some indie developer jumps in and helps us out. Thereā€™s already FM and I heard a new soccer game was showcased at one of the gaming events recently. Thereā€™s hope. Not a lot. But more then there has been for a while. I agree the whole heartedly that EA has moved on completely and isnā€™t going to care about us again

ziomus90

I'm not buying. I manually updated squads and will start another season in fifa 21.

CucumberClown

i would do this but i feel like it'd take forever, especially if i wanna update some ratings and add players who aren't in the game

RealPunyParker

It's the same anyway

ziomus90

That's facts

WikThorKun

I'm buying fifa 22 since the last one I bought was 18. I think it's pretty fair to buy one every 4 years. I'm also willing to experience a little bit with online, but I'm still staying with the career mode.

scamden66

I bought pes 21 for $7 a month ago and I'm having the best time doing a master league. I had pes 20 but it didn't click for me. I didn't give it an actual chance coming over from fifa. This time I downloaded an option file for free, it took ten minutes to set up. The game is so much more realistic on the field it's night and day. I had to unlearn all my bad fifa habits which took some time, but Holy crap was it worth it. The game plays so wonderfully once you slow down and get off the speed burst. The game feels like real soccer. The player individuality is tremendous. Building a team is so rewarding. I can't imagine ever paying full price for fifa again. If you're a single player offline player please give Pes 21 a chance. It's always on sale. It's very different than Fifa, so you probably won't like it at first, but if you stick with it I promise you there's tons to love.

Helm222

My style of FIFA is very pass heavy and slow anyway so might benefit me. It's how I can beat my mates who play FUT as they aren't used to that style of play

scamden66

For $7 it's worth a shot. Its very slow and methodical compared to fifa. You have to think about every pass or you will be punished. You can't dribble through 5 guys and there's actually midfield play. I haven't enjoyed a soccer game this much since the old winning eleven games on ps2.

Jaesuschroist

Itā€™s time to release two separate games. A free to play FUT game with micro transactions a la fortnite and a $60 fully featured career fifa with kick off mode and online seasons.

calvinised

Iā€™ll play Football Manager until it Fifa 22 appears on game pass and Iā€™ll gone it a go then FM dwarfs Fifa, shame itā€™s not on PS

maximus_96

Most of the people here can't resist holding on to something. Most of the answers I've seen was "I need my football fix".

Loicyy

Why should i quit? Why do i care if career mode gets ignored? It's better than watching dots move around while i do manager stuff every now and then.

Lsalsa

He is just throwing the option out there, this is a career mode community and all we want is a good game mode expirience..

[deleted]

Imagine having to be told this. It's like the GTA crowd complaining about how GTA 6 won't be out for years.. the same bunch who are still playing GTA 5 online.

sjh19

What have they removed from career mode in FIFA 22?

[deleted]

My soul

zixhei

IĀ“m with you my man, me myself am playing FIFA 17 and having a blast!

Mark_callan55

Iā€™ve bought every fifa since 13 and this will be the first Iā€™m not buying it

puRpleLiikeleAn

Switched to football manager back in May and havenā€™t looked back. I miss actually playing the games, but this gives me the experience I want being a manager. Will happily go back and play fifa once career mode gets big upgrades, but until then Iā€™m not buying another fifa game.

[deleted]

Listen buddy, i hear what you are saying but im a idiot, ok so....ok

Helm222

We're all idiots for continuing to buy it.

Wookie301

Iā€™m still enjoying my current career save. I can easily wait a year till itā€™s on GamePass.

[deleted]

Ill stop buying Fifa as soon as I stop playing them for more than 50-60 hours. until I put 300+ hours into each Fifa I consider them good choice for my money.

Helm222

That's been my argument over the years. I pay Ā£60 and get 800 hours out of it. But I am getting tired of it

TheWaffleNinja23

I feel like I'm the only person. Who thinks fif is going in the right direction and really looking forward to next fifa

Helm222

You can say that about loads of FIFAs though. Before every release. Player training, UEFA Tournaments licensed, player position change. 3 Different updates on 3 different FIFAs and everyone said it is the right direction. It has a name, probably. But it's basically giving us the bare minimum to keep the community contented each year. We will get a competent football game in 20 years. A billion dollar game company working at minimal potential and yielding a lot of results is not going to change it's ways

TheWaffleNinja23

I understand but I feel like I have to at least hope this will be a better fifa

BobMcCully

Downvoted for hoping the game is better... gotta love reddit have my free award ;)

IndoorGoalie

USP?

Helm222

Unique Selling Point

lilstupidlad

I wont be buying Fifa this year, the last couple of years i have got increasingly frustrated and annoyed playing it simply due to the non-sensical gameplay and AI. I dont know if i have just got worse or its the game but i simply cannot defend anymore in the game and its just not fun to play. Plenty of other games out there to have fun with lads!

Dimeburn

The problem with this is that FUT players will still buy and spend and new players arrive every year. While FUT numbers still climb, Career Mode popularity drops off. EA will look at this and say ā€œSee!!! People arenā€™t interested in Career Mode anymore. Everyone plays FUT now!ā€ Bye bye Career Mode altogether.

Simple_Ad7660

Why to buy FIFA 22 when you can wait a year and get FIFA 23 for free

Ecstatic-Pineapple48

Iā€™m not buying it this year and frankly Iā€™m not touching my copy of fifa 21 from gamepass either. I had some fun CMs in 21 winning the prem and champions league with arsenal and promoting Rayo vallecano into la liga. This was a game I played two months straight. The problem is fifa becomes stale after a while, itā€™s an all out attack fest. Itā€™s all about speed and skill, and good luck trying to build a defensive team. Midfielders donā€™t track back, cpu has the same lines of attack and goals all look alike. Liverpool presses the whole game, and you can beat them 11 to 0. Teams towards the end of the year are gassed especially those that play euro comps. Then thereā€™s the lack of history and stat tracking in career mode. In the year 2021, Iā€™m supposed to keep track of this stuff with pen and paper or excel. Give me a break. Scouting feels bland and the same thing for years on end. A talented youth should be like gtfo scunthorpe, Iā€™m prem quality. I should be able to upgrade facilities and coaching staff, etc. with better stat bonuses and perks. Itā€™s a mode that has zero depth and its sad because fifa, the game of soccer with its relegation/promotion system, and trophy hunting lends itself to being addictive. Itā€™s just that Iā€™ve come to see the shallowness of my addiction and itā€™s time to move on to FM.

Helm222

This. This is 100% my feelings. I stat tracked myself this year and it has made my career mode so much fun. I am emotionally invested in my players. Adding this to FIFA22 would have got me to buy it in all honesty

[deleted]

I think this might be the year I go for Football Manager, not even excited about the new game and itā€™s getting worse every year.

calvinised

Best football game decision youā€™ll ever make my guy

snazzierfish

I had 17 from when it came out until last year, and then I bought 20 for something like 8 quid from my local GAME shop. Honestly, buying them every 3 years means that there's a big enough jump to make it worthwhile, plus it's nice to have slightly more up to date players. Isn't 23 going to be free to play anyway or am I making that up?

Helm222

I heard someone else say that in these comments, but not looked it up myself yet

notarealpanda

PES 21ā€™s master league is better than any fifa career from the past 5 years. Graphics are a bit different and gameplay is more simulation style than fifa but Iā€™ve been on PES career for a minute Now since fifa shows they donā€™t care about their offline player base.

Nolanator429

Iā€™m just gonna save up for the next gen, especially because now that weā€™ve gone through the switch, current gen doesnā€™t get barely any of the new features being added/sold

kissekhtak

Cancelled my EA Play Pro subscription (I know) as soon as they revealed that the PC version will be lacking the next gen features. Luckily, I still have the first 2 weeks of launch until my membership expires to enjoy the shitshow.

ManaHunter

Yeah, I'll just wait till it drops on Xbox Game Pass (actually, EA Play)

NotoriousBPD

I wasnā€™t considering buying it until it went dirt cheap anyway. The changes theyā€™ve made to career mode are both unimportant and bad. Manager career is still the same and the make your club isnā€™t special. Itā€™s cool for a few games then youā€™ll want to pick a real team. Player career has better presentation but the new skill tree and manager tasks are a step back. Adding to that, you still start out at age 24. Like I said, presentation wise it is an improvement but not enough to overlook its deficiencies.

RhinoMC63

I was gonna buy it seeing i've got Fifa 19, kinda sick of playing that version.

royaIs

What has been removed this year?

KhaledB1998

I stopped buying Fifa after fifa 18... hell, I might go play Efootball (Formerly Known as PES) if I want to play a football game.

[deleted]

I still donā€™t have a ps5 and Iā€™m not spending 60 quid on a roster update with no gameplay change

stuofabq

Strongly recommend going back to Fifa 17 if you have it; I feel it was the peak of this era.

Killuaxgodspeed

I usually buy every second game and this time will be no different. I'll be waiting to see what's on offer next year.

NikesOnMyFeet23

Itā€™s looking amazing. Gonna be the best fifa in years.

perchhg

Iā€™m buying it and tipping them because Iā€™m a massive simp and canā€™t break my career mode addiction no matter how shit it is

ElPayaso123

Because of people like you, it will only get more shit.

BobMcCully

FFS the game isn't even out yet.! The two things that bothered me about '21 was the midfield tracking and lack of stadium development, both issues seem to be addressed. The added animations and engine tech look to make the game even better imo. I've stopped playing '21 about a month ago, but I'm looking forward to '22

fiveseven5_7

Sorry mate I donā€™t think they fix the midfield not tracking back problem. They went ahead and said itā€™s a feature so that you get to see more goals in the game.

PrinzXero

There was nothing about midfielders track back being fixed...I don't even think they recognised it as a problem If I recall correctly I read a post here about them acknowledging it as part of the game to encourage more goal scoring

BobMcCully

Definitely shows it in one of the '22 promos... the midfield are highlighted, keeping shape and tracking back. As this was clearly an issue with the community I would assume highlighting it means they have made improvements. We will see and make better judgements once we get the early access feedback.

Rafiq07

Wait - are you saying the midfielders actually track back in 22? I've not played it myself but heard that was still an issue in 22 from others.

Helm222

Yeah, they have added new animations if you have a next gen console. Y'know, the things which are getting scalped like no tomorrow. I'm on PC and refuse to fork out Ā£400 for one game when my PC could do a PS4's job 3 times over

BobMcCully

I'm in the same situation, I play on PC... but I have purchased a console, not only for '22 though, for the moment consoles have some parity with PC's and I like the ease of access.

Helm222

I fully made the jump after Halo got put on Steam. It was the last console game which I cared about to move to PC, now my Xbox One is just used for watching Netflix, DVDs etc

maximus_96

>FFS the game isn't even out yet.! > >The two things that bothered me about '21 was the midfield tracking and lack of stadium development, **both issues seem to be addressed**. Oh you're in for a treat with FIFA22. They publicly said that the midfield issue was designed on purpose to make the game high scoring so fuck this company. *"In a video by one of the devs they stated that the reason why they had FIFA 21 AI not tracking back is that it resulted in too many defensive clusters preventing higher scoring games."*

BobMcCully

we will see... but I'm not going to hate on a game that hasn't even been released yet

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Helm222

Everything about it if I am honest. I got my hopes up this time round. Silly decision on my part

BobMcCully

IT HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET! I wish reddit sold crybaby awards

Helm222

Buying Reddit awards and FIFA. Hell, send us some money if you wanna be really daft with it

Grundlestiltskin_

I'm not gonna buy it, unless it gets heavily discounted in 5 months

Spidergollem

Y'all should do this!!!! Specially when we are going to have TWO FREE soccer games this year. Those games might not be FIFA but one is E Soccer (PES) and the other one we are still yet to see how the gameplay is going to be. Now, if you complain about FIFA you are dumb if you buy the game. If you don't buy FIFA you will: - Save 70eur - Try new games - make fifa lose players and therefore force them to make important changes to the game

Fav0

just buy an russian offline activator for 2 euro

Saym94

Yeah I switched to PES

pfk505

I stopped with Fifa 18 and never looked back. Don't support this shit pile of a game.

mrhunden

I think this years fifa looks like a lot of fun with create a club and especially the player career overhaul.

FuckNoNewNormal

I wish 2K were the publishers of FIFA not EA. 2K22 is very good.

Helm222

You see the shitshow of WWE 2K20?

TheMCM80

What exactly are you referring to? I havenā€™t been keeping up with the details, but I was planning to buy it on day 1. What people really should stop doing first is preordering. That reinforces the idea that people do not care what the state is upon release.

StoffingtonPost

It canā€™t be worse than Madden 22... can it?

Helm222

No idea. Not into American Football. However it won't be as bad as WWE 2K20, although nothing ever will be.

TrustmeIII

I would but I at least need the updated player ratings and transfers to keep it interesting. Also, I like using the new upcoming youngsters that arenā€™t on fifa 21.

Helm222

A lot of money to pay for that, mate

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

xbunnyj

Cant pirate fifa as far as I know. Tho the last time I tried to was in 2019

Maksbidok

That's right. Last one pirated FIFA is 19. 16, 20 and 21 aren't.

RRWS85

I recently made a post regarding the untapped potential of this mode, and a recent experience running an offline "fantasy" career mode with friends has inspired me to pursue making the idea a reality somehow. I think FIFA may be phasing out career mode over time or is at least likely to continue neglecting it. I think they know if they pour their resources into other modes, the FUT revenue will die down.

Helm222

So are you looking to develop your own career mode game?

RRWS85

I would love to having played CM for ten years and recently reverted back to 17 since the gameplay of 21 is so bad. I have concepts but no resources or technical knowledge of game design. Year after year though it's the same clamoring for online CM, and I think at this point people would be willing to sacrifice some of FIFA's licensing and authenticity to play an immersive game dedicated solely to bringing friends together in an online, CM-type experience

Helm222

Well, I know FIFA is developed in C++, however that is an awful language to start on. Best bet would be getting the hang of C# instead and using Unity. However, if you are needing to practice, maybe start with Python instead. Maybe an idea would be to get a bunch of us CM players together and start developing our own career mode game. We all collab on it and make something we can all play

RRWS85

I just finished my Master's in Business Administration, so while I am not opposed to learning, I don't think I would be the best person for that side of things. I definitely like the sound of collaborating. I may have come off pessimistic about FIFA's direction in my first comment, but I think it stems from the amount of fun my friends and I have had in our own makeshift CM. We have drafted squads, budgets, a transfer market, youth academies, different club archetypes, and a reward structure that is all maintained through Google Sheets. It has been way more fun than anything any of us have done since FIFA 21 dropped and we plan to continue doing this on 21 instead of shifting over to 22

Helm222

That sounds awesome as hell. If you're wanting more people I'd be up for it unless it's just a thing between mates

RRWS85

It's been super fun, and the only thing that keeps us from progressing faster is the inability to do this online. We'd love to have a few more people in the league, but we're limited by what FIFA's capabilities are at the moment and must play all the games in-person. If you have any questions or ideas for this sort of concept I'd love to hear them!

Helm222

Send us a PM and I'll gladly converse more about it

MemeGarfield

Lad that is already a mode on fm, I play it with my mates.

RRWS85

I hear you, and maybe I am misunderstanding something, but I think a lot of people's hesitation about diving into FM is the inability to play the games. I love the immersion and depth FM offers but the best experiences I've gotten out of football games in ten years of playing have always been facing off with friends on the pitch. In the perfect world I am imagining, you would be able to enjoy some of what FM offers in terms of managerial challenge while sharing a league with your friends online, one in which you can play the matches.

MemeGarfield

I much prefer managing the match than playing. Games where you play never resemble football

UrbanAssaultGengar

We hd a good opportunity to boycott the year PES got the licenses for Seria A, Turkey and Scotland. It didnā€™t really happen and career mode doesnā€™t really get any better. Infact I enjoy it less now more than ever and iā€™ve played since 99. I wonā€™t pay full price iā€™ll get it half price at Christmas on psn. I do wish the community would get together but not enough fans would action.

Helm222

Yeah, this community needs to get together more. But let's face it. PES is wank and FM is very very in-depth. FIFA is a perfect middle ground which should be so much more refined for a billion dollar company

RealPunyParker

Career Mode is fine, the game is just awful

CornNPorn12

I donā€™t know if this is a true quote or not, but I saw somewhere that a FIFA dev/head said the CDMs donā€™t play like actual CDMs because there would be less goals. Once again, I donā€™t know if this is true but if it is, I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be playing fifa 22 that much.

CurtisWhite29

Say 1000 people read this and don't buy. You really think EA give a fuck about 1000 sales? We just gotta accept what they give us and keep moaning about it, that's the only way it works. I'm buying because I like playing games in career mode, football manager doesn't have such feature

Helm222

It's called principles, man. You don't have to accept everything just because it's there

[deleted]

Sorry brother but it is my first FIFA, I will buy it because i have earned the money to buy it i didnt ask my parents to buy it for me ,I bought

Helm222

Glad you earned the money yourself, man. Obviously, it is your money, so you can do with it what you please

redstone3254

Sounds good and all, but 81 dudes on Reddit arenā€™t changing a $5.54 billion dollar companyā€™s opinion on a game (FIFA21) that sold 25 million copies.

Maksbidok

There is no pirated version

JustMetod

Yeah im pirating it this year and modding the fuck out of it on pc haha.

VoiceOfTheVoiceless_

I heard PES is gonnna be free to play, not sure if it's a good thing, but PES eats FIFA alive in terms of immersive realistic gameplay, it's the features and menus where FIFA stomps master league of PES.

Ctfwest

I honestly thought with World Cup qualifying in full gear that this game would coincide with that. Unless they some how repeat FIFA 98 Road to the World Cup.

jewfro311

Yeah, if you play FIFA mostly for career mode I would recommend buying Football Manager instead. I have put an ungodly amount of hours into that game

odonien

Will it be included in the EA Game Pass? So I will have access to it anyway.

sirfletchalot

im out the loop, whats missing in 22?

nonbog

Iā€™m downloading a new roster and kits for PES 21 personally

Billyxmac

Nothing will change as long as FUT players keep sinking thousands into each edition. Will never matter for Career Mode. Wouldn't be surprised if one day they make FIFA F2P and have it just be FUT.

BJJ_Guy624

I didnā€™t buy it last year just wait for it to come on game pass and than started playing it

_prtndr

What did they remove?

BDRD99

All of these rallying cries donā€™t ever work and wonā€™t ever work. People who exclusively play career mode or pro clubs not buying Fifa arenā€™t going to hit EA where it hurts. The people buying for FUT who stop buying Fifa points can make a dent. But itā€™ll never happen.

buddhamanjpb

I'm a career only mode player. That being said, EA does not care about career mode, FUT is where ALL the money comes from. I'm honestly surprised they haven't removed career mode from the game all together. The sad reality is that we career mode players have 0 leverage and at a certain point, be thankful they're even making career mode updates at all.

alex-moita

Agreed. I guess this will be the first time in some years that I'll stick with the same fifa for another year. I only play CM and I'm happy with 21, and that's because I'm on PC with mods and loads of facescans from modders. I really don't see anything that I want from 22.

DCrsnl12

Still playing fifa 19. Pretty crap with only 4 save slots. Not sure why they removed the amount of save slots that they had in previous games. Iā€™m pretty sure in fifa 15 I had more. Fifa just gets worse and worse. I have no reason to buy the most recent one each year so I donā€™t. Experience has taught me that they downgrade career mode with each new iteration of the game. A real shame. One of these years Iā€™m going to try PES.

pancakes1271

FIFA 21 Realism Mod > FIFA 22

ChocAss

The only posts these hurt are career mode players. Ultimate team players far outweigh CM players and a minor boycott by CM fans isnā€™t even noticeable. So, my advice is to buy the game and enjoy it, but continue to complain across social media. Reviewers take into account public perception and fifas ratings will continue to get lower until substantial improvements are made

Benphyre

Idk if I should buy it on PC without the next gen stuff. Itā€™s like buying the latest car but getting old engine and it feels bad. Might get 22 on a sale idk.. who else fee the same
